Have you tried the Sabel Security thrillers by Seeley James? They have an unusual setup and a couple of interesting (and slightly tweaked) lead characters.

I am basically new to this genre but have found an author I think fits the bill with this group. I wanted to get recommendations of like books. I am a huge fan of Dominic Piper. His work is about an edgy PI who has the craziest cases. Lots of action, adventure, and plot twists. Has anyone read his work? If not you're missing out. If you have, who else would you recommend that writes similarly?

I'm never exactly sure what to say so I'll take the easy option and just post my author bio...sorry.

Hello all! I figured that I'd drop a line here because I just recently joined your group. A few of your members are in my other group (Fantasy Buddy Reads) which is how I found you. I've always been a reader of both fantasy and thrillers/spy novels and only recently discovered the joys of adventure through my first ever Clive Cussler read (Spartan Gold). In the past I've read the likes of Dan Brown, Vince Flynn, James Rollins, Patrick Robinson, and Daniel Silva. What really made me join your group was the relaxed attitude towards acceptable reads as long as it involves action and adventure. That allows for a lot of cross genre reading and discoveries, which I'm looking forward to exploring with your members.
I'm a House-hubby, so the kids take the main priority (ages 8 & 1) but I like to fill my down time with reading, video games and good tv/movies (pretty much in that order). I also love cooking and I've recently been dabbling in drawing and creative writing...
I'm looking forward to our future buddy reads and to being active in your group!

Quick Question: Does this book fit your parameters? Arrowood Just asking because I saw some PI style novels in one of your other forums...

Hello, all, Please allow me to introduce myself. I am very new to Goodreads and am just now learning how to use it.

The books I write would likely fall into the action/adventure category, although this category seems to be broad and have flexible boundaries.

The first two books deal with attempted terrorist activities in the US and the efforts taken to thwart them. Action moves through various parts of the US and to many other countries. Characters are based on people I have actually encountered. A major inspiration is to include a broad cross section of the population. They are designed to entertain, but also inform and foster tolerance, acceptance, and respect.

Please look for "Three Kisses" and "Day of Judgment". There will be another giveaway shortly.
