Jinx heard her name, but it was so soft she thouchg it was her imagination

Charles and Veronica kept calling while walking down the street.

Jinx heard her name again and looked out the window

Charles scanned the buildings, while Veronica looked around the street.

Jinx saw them, then turned away from the window, she knew if she didn't do anything they wouldn't find her

Charles thought he saw something in the window. He dismissed it as a bird.

as she walked away from the window, the rotting floor caved in beneath her, she let out a small shreak as she fell through, managing to grip the edge of the hole. she dangled ten feet above a room

Charles and Veronica heard someone in the building. Charles quickly ran in and saw Jinx. "Jinx! What are you doing here" he said, going to help her.

"Go away!" she shouted from the hole

[Zachman]

"Do you want to break your leg? I'm trying to help you."

[Fiamata]

"go away" she repeated struggling to pull herself up but failed

Charles ran up to the hole and grabbed her hand. He pulled her up on to the crumbling floor.

she backed away from him

"What's up with you? Why did you run off?"

[Fiamata]

"I'm a danger to both you and veronica as long as i live with you"

"What? Just because some accident? That was nothing. Well except for you killing someone."

"this is the second time" she said

[Zachman]

"When was the first?"

[Fiamata]

"by the lake" she said

[Zachman]

"I was never in trouble. All you did was protect yourself. I came after."

she shook her head "they would have followed me home, and attacked there if i hadn't noticed"

"But you did notice."

[Fiamata]

"that doesn't mean i will everytime" she said

"You ever thought that maybe we liked having you with us, not matter the danger?"

[Fiamata]

"that's because you've never been hurt!" she said. "what if veronica had gotten hurt today? you wouldn't want me around"

[Zachman]

"I wouldn't see it as your fault. I would see it as the government's fault for doing this to you."

[Fiamata]

she shook her head and bit her lip

"You know what, never mind. If you don't want to have a nice warm place to live, where you can get food and water any time, and not have to worry about some creep stealing something from you, then go ahead and stay here."

"I'll manage" she said her voice cracking at the end. she had no idea how she would manage though

"Alright, just remember to stay in school" he said, then he turned and left.

she watched him leave.

Charles went back to Veronica and said that she wanted to stay. They both headed back home.

When they got bacl, Charles went to his room and took a nap. He was tired off everything.

Charles wasn't sure what to do when he got up. Should he go back and try and convince Jinx to stay with them? Or should he let nature take it's course? He decided on the latter and turned on the tv.

jinx froze up as she saw a few junkies go into the room below her. she watched them curiously from the hole in the floor

Charles sat on his bed, melting his brain with the junk on tv.

she watched them and it took a while before they finally noticed her.

Charles turned off the tv and grabbed a book.

"hi" she said to the junkies.
"hey," the taller one said.
"what are you doing here?" she asked.
"stuff" he replied walking closer to her. "what are you doing here? this is our spot"
"running away" she said undaunted by his threatening tone. he seemed to soften as that
"jack did that" he said pointing to the other junkie. jack just nodded at the mentioning of his name. "I'm Jamie, wanna do some stuff with us?" he asked feeling sympathy for her.
"sure" jinx said, she figured it couldn't be too bad and perhaps these people could help her. Jamie lead her back down to where their stuff was.
"stick out your arm" he said after they had all sat down. Jinx did as he asked. he brought a needle to her arm
"no!" she said recoiling her arm
"what? afraid of needles?" Jack teased. she glared at him
"whatever"jamie said."here" he handed her a joint. she took it and just looked at it he rolled his eyes and took it from her" like this" he said showing her how to do it. he handed it back to her and she sucked in and held it then let out a puff of smoke
"woah..." she said, immediately colors started to disorient before her eyes. The effects were extremely strong
"yeah"Jamie smiled watching her, then stuck the needle in his arm.
"I wonder if charles has done this" she unknowingly spoke her thoughts aloud "I should go check" she said wanting him to enjoy this feeling as well she stood up, swaying on her feet. "I'll be right back" she spoke slowly to jamie and jack but they weren't listening. she left and went back to charles' house. she snuck up the stairs and walked into his room, it looked extremely different now

Charles looked up from his book and saw Jinx, looking totally messed up and small droplets of blood coming from her arm. "What happened to you?"

she looked at charles, except it didn't look like charles. "prof. Mcgreggor?" she said not believing he was there, then thinking if she was seeing it then it was real

"What are you talking about?" He then put two and two together and gathered that she was high on something.

she looked around and she was in the lab "w-why am I here? what did you do with charles!?" she began to freak out

Charles grabbed her arms and said, "It's alright! I am Charles. You've just been drugged, that's all."
