I read Host before Twilight and I liked it very much. In fact I was more sad when I finished reading Host. But some of my friends don't agree with me and says Host is a bit boring. I am eagerly waiting for the next book in the series.
This one has a slow start, maybe the first 100 pages are sort of strange, but the book is so good once you get into it. I hope someday she writes the other two books and finishes this trilogy.I also agree that this book is much better than Twilight.
I loved it, and am so happy that she's doing a trilogy with one of my favorite books! I agree with Stacia, the first 100 pages were a bit boring but I fell in love with the book after!

Really there will be 2 more books, can't wait to be published so I can start reading them.
I really enjoy reading The Host.

She has never confirmed that she will go ahead write the books, but she said that if she does end up making it a trilogy, the other two books will be called The Soul and The Seeker. Since The Host has just started to cast for the movie (they picked Mel/Wanda - the girl from the movies Hannah and The Lovely Bones - and I am not happy with the choice because that girl is way too young. Mel only starts out young in the flashbacks, but is in her mid 20's by the time the book gets to the main story), I'm assuming that there might now be motivation for her to continue on with the series.Haha, that was a long parentheses statement. Sorry if that's hard to read.
And I didn't know about the film either ;d
But in Stephenie Meyer's profile in Goodreads are added the next books, but you're right that don;t mean for sure she'll write them. And maybe she's not the one, who added them.
Now I'm looking at the girl, picked to play Mel/Wanda
and you're right again, she just not look like Mel/Wanda not only in age, but appearance too.
