Lo-oved the series and it is one of my favorite series ever. It's basically an Angel/Demon kind of book, but unlike any other! Try it and I can guarantee that you'll like it. No, love it! So this is the first book in the series. Now, go on, click the cover, go on. I guarantee happiness by reading the series.

I've only read the first two so far, but they are amazing so far! I really like the story!!! :)http://romancebookie.blogspot.com/
Reading this will be the greatest thing you ever do, book-wise.Honestly, this is the one series I can say legitimately changed my life. I could read another book for weeks after I finished City of Glass because I was in shock. Read them all in four days.

I know what you mean about reading another book. Some stories just do that to you don't they.
I loved the concept behind these books, but they weren't as good as they could have been. Not sure why, exactly. One thing that bugged me was that so much of the drama/conflict seemed manufactured rather than coming naturally out of the circumstances. But still? Read them all because I really did love the concept and wanted to see what happened. But disappointed in the end, with each book.

i did the same thing lol. i couldnt read alot of books for a while because its like how do you recover from a book series that good and go and read regular books.
I love City of Bones!!! I'm currently reading City of Ashes :) I have to say I like City of Bones a little better
Gladys, CoFA wasn't nearly as good as the original three. (view spoiler), there's not as much to work with, and it feels like just another paranormal book.
Thalia wrote: "Gladys, CoFA wasn't nearly as good as the original three. [spoilers removed], there's not as much to work with, and it feels like just another paranormal book."Yeah... :( That's what I've been seeing a lot in the reviews. *sigh* City of Glass felt complete to me. I don't know why she felt the need to add two more. I'm still curious.
I'm really glad about the Infernal Devices and all that, and I was originally very excited about the next three TMI books. However, although CoFA was definitely a solid four stars for me, what made me love TMI so much in the beginning just wasn't there anymore. Regardless, definitely read it anyway! It's worth it to have the complete collection. <3
:D !!! You don't know how happy you made me with that last detail. I LOVE Simon.
I am fascinated by Reeve's treatment of history, environment, culture and civilization in this series. In my review, I recommend anyone to read the entire series. I really like that he does not spend an entire chapter reiterating what happened in the prior book. I wish more series would adopt this approach, rather than attempt to make every book a stand-alone.I can't help but wonder about his obvious knowledge about Alaskan and northwestern history and cultures. Having lived 18 years in Alaska, it surprised me that the names he used were actually the last names of people I knew!.
This book would work so well in a YA classroom to stimulate students to understand the connections history, culture, politics, environment, and personal ambitions.
I also appreciated his humor! Who can argue with a man named Nabisco, a kid named Saab, and the idea that rubbish was something worshipped!
I read up to City of Glass and now i'm reading the Infernal Devices series. But i liked City of Bones the best.
Uhm, Lydia, I don't mean to be rude, but what are you talking about? We're talking about the series by Cassandra Clare..? I think you're thinking of something else!
I love this series though
was a bit of a disappointment, but the infernal devices is good too, I actually seem to be liking that more.
I'm actually the opposite. I prefer mortal instruments over the mortal instruments, and CoFA was my favorite.
In my opinion, TMI is better than TID. Basically because TID has not strung my stomach into a ball of emotion, which TMI did.And CoFA was a huuuge disappointment for me. I mean, after the drama of Jace and Clary--the reason I loved the series so much--there's not much you can do to make it up to that level of emotion again. Now there's just dumb regular drama between Jace and Clary, and it's just sdkghdakushnvfdkoshnvmklsdurjnkf.

Thalia wrote: "In my opinion, TMI is better than TID. Basically because TID has not strung my stomach into a ball of emotion, which TMI did."So, I said this. I have since read Clockwork Prince and I retract this statement. OTL.
Just letting you all know. (;
LOVE ALL OF HER BOOKS SO SO SOOOOO MUCH IT ALMOST HURTS. In fact, it does because of all her MORTAL INFERNAL LOVE TRIANGLES AND CLIFFHANGERS.
Honestly, I think the series is overhyped.I've only read the first two, and while they were enjoyable enough, I just didn't feel that Clare has pulled off what she hoped to.
I just really didn't like the second book at all. It left a very bad taste in my mouth. I plan to read the rest, yes, but I needed a break in between.
My biggest annoyance is that the series could thrive on the action alone, and then she just makes it more about romance between the characters. Ugh, it just bugs me.

I just really didn't..."
I think she's trying to cater to too many tastes, i.e. Percy Jackson fans, Twilight Fans, etc, etc. Plus its like she's raided a Thesaurus with amount of big words she drops in there. I'm a writer and I don't know most of these words, how is an average person going to know what they mean. Thank God for the dictionary function on my Kindle app.

I'm reading City of Bones, but not really finding any reason to continue reading the series. What is about it that is so marvelous?

Jordyn, you didn't read City of Ashes? It's...a little bit important.Colby, the series isn't supposed to be an action series; the main focus is on the relationships, and that was Clare's initial aim. I mean, if there were no relationship focuses and only action all the time, I would have hated it. I loved it because of the relationships, and that's what made me feel as strongly about the series as I did.
Noor, I don't recall coming across any words I didn't know...can you give an example of something that didn't sound realistic to you? I practically have these books memorized and I don't recall every feeling that way. (:
This series is very different and Fresh. The later books aren't as great but are still wroth reading. The spin of books are not bad either.
It's not that I don't like action. It's that I'm more of a romantic, and I loved this particular series because of it. I would not have liked this set of character and this storyline if it weren't for the relationship set ups. Still, I'm a romantic, but I don't think the series was pitched as an action series. Different strokes for different folks. If you aren't a fan of romance, this series probably isn't appealing.& all I did was ask for an example of a word they didn't know...
I absolutelly loved the series!! I have just read the first three ones and cant wait for the others!! :) I think that if you are a very romântico person you will certainly love this serie!
