To be honest, I am not sure, I haven't paid much attention. I had been reading the night before and playing games on it so I started the day with like 30% charge. I have a charger in the car and one in the house so I never really worry about it too much. Sorry I couldn't be much help on that front.

Rachel (thedoctorscompanion) | 107 comments This sounds like fun! This is the 1st challenge in this group that I have participated in all year.

I plan to read:

The Hunger Games, The Way We Live Now, and The Tenant of Wildfell Hall. I am probably not going to finish them, but since TWWLN is a HUGE book, I hope to get a chunk out of it.

message 54: by Tracy (new)

Tracy Almost finished with Wicked Lovely and Strangers In Paradise. I don't understand where the time is going!

Nancy H | 561 comments I just finished challenge #5 - Farm Fatale by Wendy Holden - excellent comic novel. 393p.

I have started G'Day to Die by Maddy Hunter for another challenge, and am working on two more.

I'm going to read and have a cup of tea - can't decide what kind, though. Hmmmm...big decisions this morning!

So...I am not computer savy. I see where to bring up the box but don't know how to get it to do anything. I tried highlight and copy but that doesn't work.

LynnB Tracy wrote: "So...I am not computer savy. I see where to bring up the box but .."

Here's how to do it (but remove the * from the instructions, as they are what make me able to show the coding without it activating)

<*s>title of book*s> will look like title of book

s is for strikeout, b for bold, i for italic, u for underline, etc. Each are done the same way. Hope this helps!

Stacie (stacieh) | 247 comments Day 3 update:

The book I'd picked for Challenge #3 (Crank) became unavailable (my sister took it with her! lol) so I replaced it with The Iliad which I've always meant to read but never gotten around to. I'm loving it so far... ok, so not the chapter/book that does nothing but list the names and geneologies of the Greeks, but everything else ;p Work is seriously interfering with my reading time, but I still read 168 pages today :)

1. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows 2/3 finished
2. Crank The Iliad 1/3 finished
3. Lockdown finished
4. The Shadow of the Wind
5. The Golden Compass
6. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows 2/3 finished
7. Dreadnought

Stacie, make sure you get Crank back. I didn't know if I would like this type of book and now I can't put it down. Only 130 pages to go. Also, work is seriously interfering with my reading time as well.

Well, since it is actually hers I guess I really do have to let her read it first! She did say that I could have it when she was done, but that won't be in time for this read-a-thon. Glad to hear it's good :)

Margie (Bookzombie) (bookzombie08) Finished Crank and really liked it. It reminded me of Go Ask Alice. Also, I would never have picked up this book if it weren't for challenge #2, because I didn't think I would like a book written in verse.

Two down, four more to go! :)

1. Virals by Kathy Reichs
2. Crank by Ellen Hopkins
3. Etta by Gerald Kolpan
4. Elsewhere by Gabrielle Zevin
5. Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer
6. Tisha by Anne Hobbs as told to Robert Specht
7. Virals by Kathy Reichs

The book was quite interesting. I think it was more about self discovery than monsters. It wasn't graphic and I would even recommend it to a middle school student. I'd read again.

Started my graphic novel for this challenge: Astronaut Academy by Dave Roman. Hope to get it finished soon.

Goal for today - finish at least two more books, make some progress on Memory Keeper's Daughter, and start at least one more. We'll see if I can get that done while taking care of three kids at the same time!

I was never brave enough to ever ask. But, someone else was nice enough to ask so that's how I figured it out- someone else explained how to do it. I wonder if there's an official GR thread or FAQ for newbies that I never managed to find that would have explained all of this stuff.

It was amazing! It is the best book I have read in a long time. However, some of that could be because I live in Mississippi. There were several heart-wrenching moments, but then laugh out loud moments too. I can't wait to see if the movie even compares!

Nancy H | 561 comments I finished my book for challenge #4: Under a War-torn Sky by L.M. Elliott. What a great World War II book! It is about a pilot whose plane goes down behind enemy lines, and it had me intrigued, because my dad was stationed in England during World War II and flew B-17's (instead of the B-24 in the book). I am always interested in stories of flying from that place and time since my father lived it.
