I know (have met a couple times) the author of this. She and my brother are in the same online piano group and when he discovered she lives in my town, he went to meet her when he visited here and I went with. She's very nice-- and talented!

Artifacts is only 99 cents on Kindle and looks like it got pretty good reviews so I may pick it up.

Antwanene (knitty_princess) | 3 comments I have just finishedWicked Witch Murder . Have read them all in order , and thorough enjoy them . Although I felt this one was a bit weak in the murder side.

I think you'll like, Heidi. I read it a few years ago after meeting her at a Bouchercon and hearing her speak on a panel.

Mary (Biblophile) | 4610 comments I just finished Buried in a Book (A Novel Idea Mystery, #1) by Lucy Arlington and Dire Threads (Threadville Mystery, #1) by Janet Bolin . I found them both to be just okay. Perhaps more depth and plot will evolve as the series progress.

Several days ago I finished Sweet's Sweets (A Samantha Sweet Mystery #2) by Connie Shelton , the second in the series. Picked this one up on my Kindle and I love the characters. Well written cozy with a touch of magic.

Ok great! I will try it!

Jennifer | 485 comments Just finished Cherry Cheesecake Murder (Hannah Swensen, #8) by Joanne Fluke by Joanne Fluke. I like the series but the love triangle needs to be resolved soon.

message 4858: by Mary (new)

Mary Havlovic | 11 comments I just finished reading Classified as Murder by Miranda James. I like her characters especially Diesel the Cat. I recommend this book.

Diana Lee | 1 comments Just finished The Gauguin Connection (Genevieve Lenard, #1) by Estelle Ryan by Estelle Ryan and I loved it! I highly recommend it!!!

Robin (goodreadscomtriviagoddessl) | 630 comments Just finished Hiss and Hers An Agatha Raisin Mystery by M.C. Beaton it was okay, same cast of characters, a few more added to liven things up a bit in the Cotswold countryside.

message 4861: by Leslie (last edited Oct 06, 2012 04:23PM) (new)

Leslie I just finished Alan Gordon's first book, Thirteenth Night, Thirteenth Night (Fools' Guild, #1) by Alan Gordon , a medieval mystery investigating the death of the Duke of Orsino (15 years after Shakespeare's Twelfth Night). It was good but the major clue that allowed the jester to solve the case wasn't one that the reader could have figured out, which annoys me.

message 4862: by Anastasia (new)

Anastasia (anastasiaruff) | 93 comments Just finished The Body in the Boudoir A Faith Fairchild Mystery by Katherine Hall Page It was enjoyable but goes back to an earlier time time in the series so I found it a bit repetitive of the other books. I like to read them in sequence and prefer them to take place chronologically

message 4863: by Linda (new)

Linda I finished reading Murder Unmentionable by Meg London and found it positively charming. I noticed some reviewers complaining that they guessed too soon who the murderer was. For me, that does not detract from the mystery. The protagonist's journey as she seeks to unmask the killer is the part I enjoy most.

Melodie (melodieco) | 5280 comments Finished Allergic to Death by Peg Cochran and thought it was a pretty good first book in this new series.

I just picked that up at the library.

❂ Murder by Death (murderbydeath) Finished Foul Play at the Fair this afternoon. A good first start to a series. I liked the ending. I could have done without all the internal dialogue/speculation. I literally skipped 3 pages and didn't miss a thing except an overly long recap of stuff I'd already read.

But a good read! :)

message 4867: by Beth (new)

Beth S | 1 comments Just finished The Chocolate Castle Clue & am about to start The Chocolate Moose Motive: A Chocoholic Mystery catching up with my chocoholic mysteries!

message 4868: by Sue (new)

Sue (suetinge) | 622 comments Finished Cockatiels at Seven yesterday.

Leslie Finished Artifacts by Mary Anna Evans. Good first book of a series.

message 4870: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 485 comments I just finished reading Books Can Be Deceiving (Library Lover's Mystery, #1) by Jenn McKinlay by Jenn McKinlay. I really liked this book. Looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

message 4871: by Mary (new)

Mary Havlovic | 11 comments I just finished reading Murder Unmentionable by Meg London. I liked the book. I am looking forward to the next book to see how she develops her characters as the story line continues.

Denise | 618 comments Jennifer wrote: "Just finished Cherry Cheesecake Murder (Hannah Swensen, #8) by Joanne Fluke by Joanne Fluke. I like the series but the love triangle needs to be resolved soon."

Don't hold your breath on that (resolving of the love triangle). That has been much discussed in this group and from what we all understand Joanne Fluke has no intention of resolving.

message 4875: by Denise (new)

Denise | 618 comments I finished reading Seeds of Vengeance, the last book (so far) in the Kendall O'Dell mystery series. I have had to read this series out of sequence, which I hate to do. This book refers back to Dark Moon Crossing, book 3 in the series which I haven't read yet, alot. So now, when I read Dark Moon Crossing I already know quite a bit about the story--bummer for me!

However, I will again say that this is a pretty good series, set in Arizona.

message 4876: by Mary (new)

Mary Havlovic | 11 comments I just finished reading Vlad All Over-an ARC I received from Beth Orsoff. I liked the book and recommend it when it comes out in Nov. 2012.

message 4877: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer (jhaltenburger) Finished A Brew to a Kill A Brew to a Kill (Coffeehouse Mystery, #11) by Cleo Coyle for a challenge, and also to bring me up to date with this series. One of these days I really will remember to try one of the recipes!

Almost done with Secondhand Spirits Secondhand Spirits (A Witchcraft Mystery, #1) by Juliet Blackwell -- my first by this author but not my last.

❂ Murder by Death (murderbydeath) Kaye wrote: "Living the Vida Lola and Peril in Paperback"

Loved both of those books! :)

I've just finished The Light Keeper's Legacy. Very good book although I still with Chloe wouldn't be so wishy-washy.

message 4880: by Beth (new)

Beth | 616 comments I can't believe how long it's been since I posted in this group! I was traveling most of September and early October(including a fun trip to Cleveland for Bouchercon). During my travels, I read The Mapping of Love and Death and really enjoyed it. I've put the first book in that series on my to-read list, so I can go back and catch up to the one I read, the 7th.

Thanks so much, Norma! I hope you enjoy the sequel, Wicked Eddies, just as much. I just got approval on the third book in the series, FATAL DESCENT, which will be published in May. I had a lot of fun researching that book, which will take place on the Colorado River in Utah vs the Arkansas in Colorado, and includes some climbing scenes. I can't wait to see the cover art!

message 4882: by Leslie (new)

Leslie I just finished Maids of Misfortune Maids of Misfortune (A Victorian San Francisco Mystery #1) by M. Louisa Locke and the short story Dandy Detects (A Victorian San Francisco Mystery #1.5) by M. Louisa Locke Dandy Detects by M. Louisa Locke (free Kindle books)... enjoyable historical fiction mysteries set in 1879 San Francisco.

Beth, it'll be on my TBR! I love the way you took the characters in Wicked Eddies.

message 4884: by Julia (new)

Julia (juliawebb) I just finished Defending Angels by Mary Stanton, which promises to be an entertaining series. Starting Cloaked in Malice by Annette Blair. This is the fifth in her Vintage Magic Mystery series, and they've all been great reads! Imagine having a ghost who strongly resembles Gary Grant hanging around!

message 4885: by Caitlin (new)

Caitlin C (caitkom) | 199 comments Just finished Norway to Hide Norway to Hide (Passport to Peril, #6) by Maddy Hunter . I love this series, reading Dutch Me Deadly now. The group of travelers make me laugh every time!

message 4886: by Sue (new)

Sue (suetinge) | 622 comments I finished The Deeds of the Disturber The Deeds of the Disturber (Amelia Peabody, #5) by Elizabeth Peters last night.

Thanks so much, Sue! I just saw the cover art concept for FATAL DESCENT and am very excited about it. I can't share it yet, because it's not final, but it rocks.

JoAnne McMaster (Any Good Book) | 55 comments The Cat Who Talked to Ghosts. Pretty good mystery and will probably read more in this series.

message 4889: by Beth (new)

Beth (Duffy2012) | 6 comments Just zoomed my way thru all of Julie Hyzy's White House Chef series - very appropriate for this time of year! Wonderful series about a young woman who becomes the main Chef for the President (okay, an imaginary President) and full of neat insights into the back stage of the White House. Fun romantic interest with Secret Service staff, too. First one is "State of the Onion".

I have read them all up to Cinnamon Roll Murder.. and had a glimmer of hope with that one and while it is one of my favorite series even I am a little over Hannah and her prospects!

I just finished reading The Diva Digs Up the Dirt. . The Diva Digs Up the Dirt (A Domestic Diva Mystery, #6) by Krista Davis The further I read, the more involved it got. (Which is exactly what I love!)

And Beth, Wicked Eddies is in my BR pile. Well, actually, on my Kindle instead of a pile. And I get to enlarge the print

message 4896: by Kaye (new)

Kaye (kkillgore) | 35 comments I just finished Red Velvet Revenge

message 4897: by Ariel (new)

Ariel (sevenmoonlight) | 138 comments I just finished Blood Bath & Beyond by Michelle Rowen Blood Bath and Beyond. Paranormal cozy with more world building than usual, but humor kept it light. This is a transition from the paranormal romance "Immortality Bites" into mystery with the main characters becoming vampire investigators. It was enjoyable.

message 4898: by Fred (new)

Fred I just finished an advance copy of Written In Stone by Ellery Adams and think it is the best book, so far, in the series. I'd say that even if my sidekick and I weren't in it. ellery is a master storyteller, IMHO.

message 4899: by Kim (new)

Kim (catmommie) I just finished Naked Heat, gave it four stars, but I thought it was more like 3.5, and I hate half-stars. I just felt a little confused with all the characters involved, until the end.

message 4900: by Robin (new)

Robin (goodreadscomtriviagoddessl) | 630 comments I just finished Wicked Cravings by G. A. McKevett haven't read her in a while.
