Heidi | 2446 comments Just finished Fatal Fixer-Upper, and really liked it. Ugh! I am trying to go through all my tbr books to narrow down the series I want to read more of, but it is not working. I am liking everything I have read, which means I will have to read the entire series of them all! I need help.

I have this in The Pile. I didn't really like the first one very much, so hope this one is better. I thought the lead character was just too totally clueless!

Jessica | 9 comments Just finished 2 good cozies, from authors who are new to me. Homicide In Hardcover Homicide In Hardcover (A Bibliophile Mystery, #1) by Kate Carlisle by Kate Carlisle, which had a witty writing style, funky characters, lots of cool info about the art of book restoration and book binding, and a good story. Can't wait to read more from this author.
I also just finished Penny Warner's How to Host a Killer Party (Party Planning Mystery, #1) by Penny Warner How to Host a Killer Party.Fast paced and fun. Look forward to her next book too.

Joanna guest posted on my blog and let me do a giveaway of her 2 books. I thought the books were a great read, lots of fun. Joannna herself seemed like the sweetest lady to deal with and she has a fabulous sense of humor. I can't wait to read book 3.

Looks like you've been on a San Francisco kick since that's where both of these take place. Kate Carlisle's 2nd book is available now. I liked it just as much as the first.

Kimberly (kimberly75149) | 24 comments I've read both of Kate Carlisle Bibliophile mysteries Homicide in Hardcover and If Books Could Kill. I loved them both. There are so many great characters that you want to know more about, I can hardly wait for the next in the series.

Hm, strange coincidence. Warner's book I bought after an author event she was at recently, and I just happened to grab Carlisle's book off the library's paperback rack (because I liked the cover art).Prior to reading them, I didn't even know they were set in San Francisisco. But it is an interesting thought, that perhaps books set in that city will tend to have all the more interesting characters, being that it is a place known for 'characters'.

The next Carlisle book, "If Books Could Kill", is on both my bookmooch.com and paperbackswap.com wishlists. I hope someone has a copy to trade soon!

I Have tried "Dead Air" but I've had to left it. I had read twelve chapters but it didn't catch me up. I've began "Sink Trap" and up to now I'm liking it a lot.

Rosemary | 78 comments I just finished The Teaberry Strangler The Teaberry Strangler (A Tea Shop Mystery, #11) by Laura Childs Interesting descriptions of the tea parties and recipes. Mystery needed more depth as did her interaction with the characters. The murderer seemed kind of thrown in at the last minute.

I liked her aunt, but didn't care for Persia at all.

message 420: by Kelley (new)

Kelley (booknerd69) Just finished The Bordeaux Betrayal: A Wine Country Mystery by Ellen Crosby. I absolutely love this series. I have some reviews by people who don't seem to like it as much as me, but this series has all of the best elements of a mystery for me. And the back and forth between Lucie and Quinn is really tantalizing. It seems to stem from two people who have been burned before and are not sure if they want a real relationship with anyone. They are getting closer to realizing their feelings for one another, but I hope this dance continues; it really does add to the story. Some of have complained about the murder being secondary in this book, but I don't feel that way. It wasn't in your face for the whole thing, but the reason behind the murders ran throughout the book and kept the storyline alive and fresh.

Ivy (luvbug) I finished Last Scene Alive by Charlaine Harris. This is book 7 in the Aurora Teagarden series. It was fairly good. Wasn't much going on until the last quarter of the book. I will try another in the series just to make sure if I like it or not.

Mollie (molliebee) | 53 comments I just finished The Ninth Daughter by Barbara Hamilton and can't wait for the next one in the series. I don't know if it's technically a cozy--maybe it's best described a cozy historical mystery. It's set in 1773 in Boston. It was a slow read at first but then it really picked up. Fascinating read.

Kay Mitchell (kaisymitchellgmailcom) | 6 comments I am a huge Maisie Dobbs fan...just finished The Mapping of Love and Death...great addition to the series. I love the pace of her books, that's what make them cozy for me...the pace and the insights into a time, a place and one very complicated person.

The first one in this series was actually pretty good, the other ones weren't nearly as good with this newest one being actually beyond silly. I like the Abby Cooper series much better, but didn't care for the last one that much.

I love Stephanie Plum books - especially on audio. I think I may go back sometime and re-listen to all of them. How is the other book? Never hear of it.

Kimberly (kimberly75149) | 24 comments I really enjoy the Fresh Baked series , too. I think it's the Texas thing. I hear the voices of all my family and friends in my head when I read them. I've also read one of Livia J. Washburn other series , Frankly My Dear, I'm Dead but didn't like it as well.

When you do your post click on "add book/author" which is just above the comment box where you type your message. When the box comes up type in the book you want. When the one you want shows up in the list, you can click either "link" or "cover". Click cover then add and it will put the cover in your comment.

Shannon (dolphinlover) | 290 comments I have just finished Sprinkle with Murder (Cupcake Mystery, #1) by Jenn McKinlay and I must say that it has lived up to the rave reviews. I am hooked on this series and can't wait to get the next one Butter Cream Bump Off. These recipes here sound soooo yummy. I would love to make some but could not wait and have to reserve to making cupcakes with boxed cake mix lol. I needed something to quell the craving. Love this books and definitely recommend it.

I'm enjoying Stephanie Plum. As for the Cat Who books, I think they've been around for quite awhile - possibly since the '60's, but I could be wrong on that. They're short and entertaining.

Kimberly, I'm so sad that this is the last in the series. The Spellman series is by far one my most favorite series (tied with Harry Potter, of course!) and I can't believe it's over!

Shannon (dolphinlover) | 290 comments I just finished reading Glazed Murder A Donut Shop Mystery (Donut Shop Mysteries) by Jessica Beck and it was nothing short of fantastic! I am so pleased with this book! I did not guess the killer well at all lol. Didn't know until they told me who it was. Great great first in a series. I am definitely going to get the next book in this series called Fatally Frosted.
