I just finished "Greedy Bones" by Carolyn Haines.
First time reading a Sarah Booth Delaney book. The female characters are strong and fairly independant. Likeable.Believeable. I will read another in this series, but after Animal Appetite, and Greedy Bones in one week, I will make sure my next read has LOTS of wit/humor.
I read Killer Market by Margaret Maron. Very good mystery. It was outside of her usual milieu and without any of the recurring characters, including her large family. I'm looking forward to reading the next one when she's back home.
I read
last week, but I'm not sure I'd call this a cozy, really. I do love the series though. Also finished
which was good, but not great. I am enjoying that series a lot though.
Finished "Owls Well That Ends Well" by Donna Andrews. I really like this series and this one did not disappoint. Lots of humor, quirky , likeable characters and a surprise twist at the end.
Finished
last night. I've been keeping up with Julie Hyzy's books and enjoying them, but I found this one irritated me a bit. I'll keep reading them though.

Cindi wrote: "DonnaCarol wrote: "I just finished "Greedy Bones" by Carolyn Haines.

Why deprive yourself of a great read just because you haven't read the 1 or 10 before it?!?! You could get hit by a bus and then you missed out on something good!
Melodie wrote: "Cindi wrote: "DonnaCarol wrote: "I just finished "Greedy Bones" by Carolyn Haines.

I am SOOOO glad to know that now! I've been driving myself crazy trying to read them in order! I feel like awhile new door was just opened! Thanks!!!
Oh and not sure if this is the right place for me to post this but for those of you who have any kind of ereader device, I discovered a great website where you can subscribe per month to download books - unlimited. It's called ebookr.com I LOVE it!! It has saved me a TON of money! However, not all authors ore on it and it does not have every title the author wrote - hence why I am beside myself with new excitement knowing cozy books do not have to be read on order! I hope it was not inappropriate for me to post that here (if at all). It's helped me save money and thought I would share!

(They're located in different sections.) You can copy and paste it to both. Not everyone will see this great tip here. And thanks for letting us know.

Most of the series I do try to read in order, but I have read out of order because I just had trouble getting them all. I have found, as with this first Haines, that it really didn't "ruin" the other books. And usually by the time I get the next one, I have read so many other authors in between, that I don't remember all the details that much anyway.

I'm a little crazy in that I try my absolute best to read the books in order. I've picked up books at the used bookstore and left them on the shelf until I picked up the books that came before them. It's ridiculous, I know. But most series do not need to be read in order (except maybe the Dresden Files because there are some big spoilers in later books)

I may skip a title in the series if I haven't been able to find it but I still read the ones I have in order. And when I find a title in a series at a UBS, I get it right then while it's available for a fraction of cover price.

Nell, I hadn't noticed that you don't get the author's name anymore :( Threaded for Trouble (Janet Bolin) is the second book. I think I enjoyed the first book a little more than this one. This book was good, but it kind of dragged on.
:D Just zipped through
. I liked the first one well enough - but I liked this one much better! Could become one of my favourite series! :)
❂ Jennifer wrote: ":D Just zipped through

I just finished this funny misadventure and murder mystery that takes place in Egypt. It was laugh out loud funny and a quick easy read. Pick it up and you are sure to enjoy it
Nell wrote: "I was iffy on the first one and not sure whether to give it another try. I'm sure that I will now. Thanks for the rec. "Nell, the first one felt a bit silly and flighty to me but this one felt more like a solid cozy - I hope you find it to be the same. :)
I just finished
.I want a cupcake and wish I had the third book right now so I could start reading that one.
Heather L wrote: "Finished Ghost a la Mode late last night. Would definitely read the next book in the series."The next one is the best of the 3, IMHO!
Finished
last night (I have got to stop staying up until the wee hours of the morning reading!). I liked it, but not as much as I liked the first one.

Earlier today I finished "Killer Crullers" by Jessica Beck.
I forgot that I have a few issues with Suzanne Harts personality. She often comes off as harsh (IMO). In this #6 in the series, she seems to show a more likeable , careing side. I think this is my favorite in the series so far.
Kimberly wrote: "I just finished

I can identify with you Kimberly. :) I just ATE my way through Killer Crullers.Sent my husband out on a doughnut/zinger run.
❂ Jennifer wrote: "Finished

DonnaCarol wrote: "I can identify with you Kimberly. :) I just ATE my way through Killer Crullers.Sent my husband out on a doughnut/zinger run."Oh no!!! I'm going to stock up on a few donuts before I start that series!

I concur! I am constantly up later than intended due to being held hostage by a good book. : D

Hello all! I'm a little new to cozy mysteries, but I just finished
yesterday. I enjoyed the story, but felt I really didn't get to know the characters. I will continue with the series to see where they end up though.

Melodie wrote: "Kristy wrote: "Hello all! I'm a little new to cozy mysteries, but I just finished

Dude, I just ate. Ew!

Melodie wrote: "Finished

I recently read The Corpse in the Crystal Ball and I hated it. The main character is just too immature and annoying. I read the First one in the series The Tempest in the Teapot and I didn't love it but I thought I would give it another chance with the second book but I liked the second one even less. This is the first series I haven't liked. I just finished
and I loved it. I am on the second one now
and I am really enjoying it.
Finished
(and before midnight too!). Excellent story and I'm looking forward to seeing what happens in the next book. Should be interesting...

I just finished "DEAD CANARIES DON"T SING" by: Cynthia Baxter. Another first for me. I liked the book, thought the plot well thought out, but I did not especially like the lead female character (sleuth)Jessie. Not as much LOL humor as I prefer, but they can't all be a Stephanie( Evanovich )or an Aspen( Kelly Cochran )I know she( Jessie) has past issues, but geeez. I kept thinking, get over it and grow up. I think Nick deserves better. I will try the next "A Reigning Cats & Dogs Mystery to see if I like her better.
