Thanks, Melodie. Good to know. I really liked this one - his style appeals to me. I'll definitely look at the others.
I just finished FM for Murder by Patricia Rockwell. This series features Pamela Barnes, a professor at a small college who solves mysteries by analyzing sounds.I've read two of the four in the series, and I would say they are engaging and interesting. Sometimes I have the feeling they were written a little too fast, and another read through/edit might have improved things.
They don't have glaring errors, though, and I've bought the next one in the series which is Voice Mail Murder.
Definitely decent.
Just completed
My review: First of Tommy and Tuppence series. Different style then Poirot and Marple. Like almost written for younger audience. Just not enough meat for me. her other 2 detective series I can hardly put down. Though I did want to finish the book, was not like that. Was witty and cute though. I had read one Tommy and Tuppence prior and know at library I veered towards Marple or Poirot and avoided them also prior. Still a lot better than others I have read from more modern authors.

This is probably my favorite of 2012 so far. I really enjoyed this one and I look forward reading more about Deuce and his family.
Finished Where There's a Witch and A Witch in Time by Madelyn Alt over the weekend. Now caught up on all books by her on the TBR shelf.
Finished
and was VERY unhappy with it. We were talking about mysteries with cliffhangers in another discussion on this board and I had remarked that they were something I rarely saw. Well, I picked this book up and wouldn't you know....it has a cliffhanger. Good story up until that and it pissed me off so much that I probably won't ever pick up another in this series.
Finished
. Unfortunately, it's my least favorite in this series so far. But, I already have the next book on my Kindle. Will take a break from Hannah, and then go back and play catch-up on the series.
Just finished (for the second time)
. I had to read it twice because there's a huge chunk of the story line that left me completely confused! Reading the second time didn't help either. Still confused about Gracie. :(Still - great mystery and I'm looking forward to the second book.

Last night, I finished
its second in the Cupcake Mystery series..I read the first book and plan to read the rest!
Its a cute cozy with great characters!

. It will fit a challenge nicely and the comments on here sound favorable. Do you enjoy this series? Or was it just too confusing?
Emma - I love the series so far; the characters are really likeable and interesting. The mysteries are solid as well. It was just in this second one I feel like a very import sub-plot point got left out in the middle or something. And there was a *lot* going on in A Fitting End, which is why I read it twice thinking I must have missed something. I'm hoping someone else here will read it and either confirm I am right in my confusion, or explain to me what I missed. :)

. I finised
last night. The series isn't as good as it used to be, though it was better than the last one.
Just finished
Choke, a first mystery by Kaye George. Parts of this story are hilarious! The main character helps the police in spite of herself. Let's just say her methods are original. I figured out the murderer about half way through so that part could have been stronger. This mystery was nominated for an Agatha award.
Melodie - *please* let me know if you understand the story line about Gracie. :)I've just finished
. I love this series - it's in my top 5 and this one did not disappoint.

I've read it, Jennifer, and I don't remember any confusion. What are you talking about? I see, Gracie... I'll check it, I don't remember any strange thing.

I read Due Northand enjoyed it quite a bit! Loved the humor, the characters and the unusual setting. I'll definitely look for more in this series.I wasn't as thrilled with Death Comes to Pemberley. There were a lot of characters to keep track of and the solution seemed a little contrived to me.

It would be the first of hers that I have read, but I was looking for a St. Patty's mystery for the month. Is it necessary to read others in the series first? Or will I be ok beginning with this one?
I just finished The Trouble With Magic
and really enjoyed it! It was a refreshing mystery and I am really looking forward to more in the series!

The Halloween book in the series I thought was very good!
Finished
Tempest in the Tea Leaves by Kari Lee Townsend last night. It is a pretty good first mystery with enough twists to keep you guessing. Some of the background and story lines seemed cobbled together. But it's a first mystery so I will likely read the next one.
Yesterday I finished
and loved it! The writing is witty and sharp, and the book is populated with a cast of unique characters. This cozy is the first in a new series, and I think it will do well. I, for one, look forward to the second one.

The mystery was good, but I don't think it was given the attention it deserved. There were too many subplots that detracted from the main story, IMO. I also found the references to many other famous works quite annoying.
I've just finished A New Leash on Death
and I've liked it a lot. I hope she publishes the second book in ebook, because I want to continue the series

Just finished A Deadly Cliche by Ellery Adams, and it's a good thing I really wanted to know the answers to both mysteries, as the editing and grammatical errors had me frequently wanting to hurl this one across the room. I did like it, but seriously--why is it so hard to get a quality product anymore?
Read
Dire Threads by Janet Bolin. Very good first mystery. Nominated for an Agatha for best first mystery. It would get my vote.

I wasn't crazy about that one either, Elizabeth.
