Per Amazon it is "Definitely, Maybe" (Lucy Valentine Short Story) [Kindle Edition] - it is 99 cents.
I finished
and
.I liked them but I wasn't crazy about them. I'll give the second books in both series another try, though.
I just finished Real Murders by Charlaine Harris....it was OK and I will probably try the next one in the series.

. Not so much
.
I just finished
, which I'm not 100% sure qualifies as a cozy. It is set in the waning days of the Ottoman Empire, and a local magistrate is aided by the British Ambassador's daughter to solve the murder of an English governess, which may be linked to the death of an English governess eight years prior. I'm calling it a cozy because the ambassador's daughter plays a big role in helping to solve the murders.I found this to be refreshingly different. The political intrigue was interesting, and there was a mildly romantic tone which was entertaining.
Has anyone ever read Caro Peacock books, it is usually Victorian mystery themed. The last one I read of hers, she became friends with Disraeli, the prime minister of London at the time.
I just finished Donna Fletcher Crow's "A Darkly Hidden Truth." It might get nods as a Christian book, slightly romantic book, definitely historical mystery (it's set currently but delves into a great deal of religious history)and could even qualify as a Rick Steves type tour book, but I'd still place it on a cozy mystery read list. It was highly entertaining.
I just finished
and liked it well enough that I have already put the second book in this series on "hold" at the library. Since I liked their Peggy Lee Garden Mysteries series so well, after I caught up on all of those, I thought I'd try another of their series. I'm glad I did!
Finished Paper, Scissors, Death and really liked it. The characters are well-developed and the action moves along steadily.
Susan wrote: "Finished Paper, Scissors, Death and really liked it. The characters are well-developed and the action moves along steadily."Glad to hear you liked it Susan! I have it waiting for me on my Kindle ;)
Today I finished
. I've read the first two books in the series, but I'm not really hooked yet. I may try just one more before giving up.
Just finished Home for a Spell
which I think I liked best in the series so far. Can't wait for the next!
Just finished Home for a Spell
-- probably my favorite in this series so far, and now I'm completely current in that series. Next up is Murder by Mocha
and then I'll be completely caught up on that series as well.
I just finished
. The cover compares it to the Meg Langslow series by Donna Andrews. One my favourites. This book does NOT resemble the Meg Langslow series. So it suffered by comparison. 2 stars. I've already bought the second one, so we'll see how that goes.

I love Louise Penny's writing. I recently finished "A Trick of the Light" and it was superb. I highly recommend it. The writing has such warmth and the characterization is wonderful. You just love the characters.

I think I am in love with Gamache! lol

I just finished Grounds for Murder by Sandra Balzo.
It's apparently part of a series featuring Maggy Thorson. Maggy is a bit snarky and there is a lot of sexual innuendo that I didn't need, but younger readers might like it. The pace is fast and sometimes seems fragmented, but the plot is satisfyingly complex.

Earlier this week I finished The Cold Light of Mourning by Elizabeth Duncan
. It was pretty good. I like the main characters. Penny actually works with the police detectives. There are good descriptions of the people and place, but the mystery was easy to solve. This was the first in the series and I will read the next one.
I just finished Gin and Daggers this morning. It was pretty good and I'll probably read another in the series at some point.
Rachelle wrote: "I just finished
last night and LaLaLOVED it!"This was my favorite mystery read of 2011. I read it twice - something I almost never do - and loved it even more the second time. It was a favorite of my in-person book group too.
Jan wrote: "Just finished
by Casey Daniels. I love this fun series."I'm almost done with this one. One of my favorite series, too!
Hi Kari - I just finished
this morning. I got the book free through Barnes and Noble Nook and thought it might be fun to read. I enjoyed the characters, especially Fayrene who can't seem to get the right word all of the time, and its nice to have a book that will make you laugh out loud once in a while.
Finished
Evans Above yesterday. The first in this series by Rhys Bowen. Great mystery. I've already started the next one, Evan Help Us.
I read and like her Royal Spyness series and liked the early Molly Murphy mysteries.
Kari wrote: "I just finished A Killing in Antiques
and it was OK."Yes, I finished that one and it was okay, some good and some not so good. I mostly had a hard time connecting with the main character.

There hasn't been a new one in forever so I'm assuming [author:Rhys Bowen|202867] is no longer writing this series but I do enjoy her other two series.
I just finished Through a Glass, Deadly and look forward to reading the other 2.
Liz wrote: "As much as I am embarrassed to admit it, the last one I read was the newest Agatha Raisin, A Spoonful of Poison by M.C. Beaton. I really can't get enough of those books."Me too
Kathryn wrote: "I thought it might be fun to share the book you just finished reading with all of us, what did you think of it, etc? (I know "Updates" from members post in some section of the site, but it's hard ..."I just finished my third Coyle coffee house mystery,
lethal latte. The character, Ms. Cozy, is well defined and realistic as well as the characters in her life-- ex-husband and romantic prospect unhappily married detective Mike Quinn. The mysteries unravel pretty well for the amateur sleuth and coffee barista.

Melodie - can you let us know the name of the novella? I'd love to read it. :)
