Nope - I'm with you on this one. I didn't hate the series, but found I just didn't care about what happened to anybody in it. I think I even have a couple that I never started. Should go find those...

I often recommend this series for fans of the Stephanie Plum books by Evanovich.

I've been rather busy here with the beginning of Spring, and have been remiss in posting my readings. I just finished
, which was no more than I expected - a nostalgic trip to 400 miles north of everywhere. :) I also finished off Carola Dunns two short stores about Daisy Dalrymple - Unhappy Medium and Storm in a tea shoppe. Neither of which have ISBN numbers (so not in GR database) but were free downloads from her publishers website.
Well, I've never really gotten into Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum books but Laura Levine is really funny. Her character Jaine Austin (sp?) writes (mainly commercials) and her cat is named Prozac. I think her books are laugh out loud funny.I just finished
and I liked it.
I just finished
. It took me a little while to get into it but overall I enjoyed it, and will read the next book in the series when it comes out.
I just recently read Laura Levine's series and LOVED the first book - even if it was pretty short.Finished Too Big to Miss
last night and I'm happy to say I've got another series/author I'm so excited to read.

It is Kathleen Bacus I was trying to think of, and thanks for the other suggestions people made, too. Now I have a whole list of funny writers to work on.
Maurie wrote: "On What Grounds It wasn't a bad book but I found it hard to relate with the protagonist's personality, which makes me uncertain if I'll read more in the series."I agree with Melodie, I don't like this series either ;(

Melodie, you're not alone! I found everything about this book so improbable that I just could not swallow it. I finished the first book, and abandoned the series.
I just finished Sentenced to Death by Lorna Barrett. Bookstore owner Tricia Miles isn’t convinced that her friend Deborah’s death was an accident. During the Founder’s Day celebration, a small private aircraft dove into the gazebo where Deborah was giving a speech and killed her. The pilot died too, and Tricia is surprised when she learns more about him. His death might not have been unanticipated. But who’d have wanted Deborah out of the way? Was she targeted, or was her death an accident as the police believe? One definite suspect is her husband, who promptly sells her shop. Isn’t it awfully convenient that his wife is out of the way? Who else stands something to gain by these circumstances? As Tricia seeks the truth, she learns secrets that may put her own life in danger. Sentenced to Death is another delightful addition to Lorna Barrett’s Booktown mystery series.

I thought it was probably her since she was a featured author recently :) I love her btw.

I finished
, and wouldn't recommend it to anyone!! Well, maybe if you're a big-time fashionista you wouldn't be so turned off by all the fashion name dropping.....and the clueless protagonist!
Melodie wrote: "I finished

Well not exactly finished. I read about a third of The Square Root of Murderbut it still wasn't holding my attention, so I closed it up and took it back to the library.
Melodie wrote: "I finished

I finished
Paris to Die for. It had a great premise of a young Jackie as a spy and meant to be fast moving. I was incredibly disappointed and found the writing and plot seriously lacking - IMHO.
Maurie wrote: "Well not exactly finished. I read about a third of The Square Root of Murderbut it still wasn't holding my attention, so I closed it up and took it back to the library."I enjoyed it, but that just shows how books appeal to different people :-)

Melodie wrote: "I finished

I just finished
. I really liked it. I loved the heroine's sense of humor. I also liked the fact that while the murderer explained some of his motivation, there were things that the heroine admitted would never be known. That seemed a little more realistic then when everything is neatly explained and wrapped up in the last chapter.
thank you Donna, I just finished that one not too long ago and didn't reallly know how to describe it. I liked it also and am enjoying book 2 of the series
Donna wrote: "I just finished

I just finished reading
. Loved the info about firemen, but especially the recipes. (I love to cook, but how much can hubby and I eat?)

I just finished
Funny, quirky, and fast-paced. This was my first book by this author. I'll be checking out her others.
I finished
last night. I love this series but the premise of this one was a little out there for me. Still, great writing and I look forward to the next one.
Jennifer E. wrote: "I finished

Finished
last night, and was not bowled over. It was better than
, but then just about anything is better than that one!
Well, I think one of my next books is going to be Shoe Done It, as it is in my TBR and it is so well liked LOL (perhaps it leaves my TBR fast, I'm not patient with books I don't like).

i read all three books in her series and really liked them; and i think you would too

I finished
last night and totally felt like it was an evening wasted that I'll never get back! If I had paid for this book I'd be looking for my money back! I sure hope this isn't the direction this series is going to continue in as I'll definitely be done with it....and I'll only read the next one when it comes out in paperback, providing it's not a "spy" story again!
