What Cozy Did You Just Finish Reading??? (Archive)

Nope - I'm with you on this one. I didn't hate the series, but found I just didn't care about what happened to anybody in it. I think I even have a couple that I never started. Should go find those...

It might be Lisa Lutz and her The Spellman Files, about a family of private investigators. I often recommend this series for fans of the Stephanie Plum books by Evanovich.

Thanks, Beth, but not Lisa Lutz. I'll know the name when I see it. I'm trying to remember the details of the first book, and I can't even remember those.

I asked you if it was Kathleen Bacus but I think you missed me :)

Stephanie Bond's Body Mover's series? The first book is Body Movers

I just finished

Finished Too Big to Miss

Heidi, I did miss you and I'm SO glad you were persistent. It is Kathleen Bacus I was trying to think of, and thanks for the other suggestions people made, too. Now I have a whole list of funny writers to work on.

I agree with Melodie, I don't like this series either ;(

Melodie, you're not alone! I found everything about this book so improbable that I just could not swallow it. I finished the first book, and abandoned the series.

Bookstore owner Tricia Miles isn’t convinced that her friend Deborah’s death was an accident. During the Founder’s Day celebration, a small private aircraft dove into the gazebo where Deborah was giving a speech and killed her. The pilot died too, and Tricia is surprised when she learns more about him. His death might not have been unanticipated. But who’d have wanted Deborah out of the way? Was she targeted, or was her death an accident as the police believe? One definite suspect is her husband, who promptly sells her shop. Isn’t it awfully convenient that his wife is out of the way? Who else stands something to gain by these circumstances? As Tricia seeks the truth, she learns secrets that may put her own life in danger. Sentenced to Death is another delightful addition to Lorna Barrett’s Booktown mystery series.

Yay! I thought it was probably her since she was a featured author recently :) I love her btw.

This was definitely a fun read!

Have you tried one of those things you can buy that magnifies the whole page?

Wow. I am actually glad you finally didn't like one of these new books because I can't keep up!

Thanks for the heads-up Melodie! That name dropping would drive me nuts.

I enjoyed it, but that just shows how books appeal to different people :-)

That is good to know. I love, love books set in Paris.

Thanks Melodie...I won't add that one to the never-ending list ;)

I enjoyed the third one, too, despite first person POV and a love triangle. Thread Reckoning
I just finished reading
. Loved the info about firemen, but especially the recipes. (I love to cook, but how much can hubby and I eat?)

I'm reading this one right now and agree with you. It's a bit out there, even for this series!

Well, I think one of my next books is going to be Shoe Done It, as it is in my TBR and it is so well liked LOL (perhaps it leaves my TBR fast, I'm not patient with books I don't like).

It's a very nice place, in summer (I was in August the first time) and winter (I spent the New Year's Eve there) >:)
