What do you think of Debbie Reynolds being cast as Grandma Mazur?

I was ambivalent about the whole Abby & Ophelia series until the last one. It was excellent. Up until then I just never liked Ophelia.

My first pick for Grandma Mazur was Betty White, of course! But Debbie Reynolds might just pull it off.

Yes, I beleive that is has been completely finished. I know that Sherry Sheppard is playing Lula.

I think Debbie Reynolds should do really good as Grandma, she is really good with comedy.

Yes, there really is a movie. Supposed to be released in the spring, I think. Katherine Heigl is Stephanie, which I just don't see, but I'm sure I'll see it anyway.

She is just NOT Stephanie to me. The rest of the cast is ok.

I agree, my wish list for my Kindle just keeps growing and growing. Just need to find the money to buy them.

message 2860: by Sherry (new)

Sherry | 137 comments I just finished reading How to Murder a Millionaire (Blackbird Sisters Mystery, #1) by Nancy Martin . Nancy Martin was a new author to me; I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and will certainly continue with the Blackbird Sisters series. This "cozy" had a little bit of an "edge" to it, which gave it a flavor all it's own. It's not a series I'm likely to confuse with any other one I've read!

Murder on the Bride's Side by Tracy Kiely

PS: how do you get the book covers to insert neatly where you want them?!

Caitlyn (quietcait) | 98 comments Currently reading Sentenced to Death by Lorna Barrett. Also reading Bound by Suggestion by L.L. Bartlett (Jeff Resnick Mysteries) on my Kindle. I enjoyed this series as well, but I have to say that I could not stand Libby. At all.She drove me nuts and I had a very hard time not getting angry with her towards the end of the series. Very annoying.
Mick was a very interesting character and try as I might, I could not picture his face as being scary or ugly (or however it was described).

Has anyone read her Roxy Abruzzo series?
Our Lady of Immaculate Deception by Nancy Martin Is it any good?

The default postion for the book cover or title links is at the end what you have typed. You can either click add book/author and insert it as you write or you can cut and paste the bracketed info where you want it to go. To do this there have to be spaces between the text and the bracketed book cover/title.

Well, this gives me an opening to mention that my latest book, Old Murders Never Die, is now up on Kindle. Long story short, it's about being stranded in an old ghost town. That's it. I won't say anything else, but I'm excited about this one.

That's exactly who I picture as well!
Not too sure about the Morelli and Ranger casting. The person playing Morelli is Irish?

I noticed some people said they don't picture Katherine Heigl as Stephanie. Who do you picture then? Since I knew who was playing Stephanie before I read any of the books, it's who I picture by default.

This one had me cracking up all day over one scene which I think had to do with something Grandma Mazur said. It's a good thing I was in the house alone or they'd had been really worried about me!

I find I can only read like two in a row and then I have to walk away from the series for a few months. Three books is just too much.

I always pictured as kind of like Sandra Bullock. Evanovich herself said that was who she had in mind, but she's too old for the part now.

Not sure that I can picture Reese as Stephanie. Reese seems to innocent and naive. Sandra Bullock on the other hand I can totally see.

I loved the whole Abby and Ophelia Series. It does get progressively better with each new entry, as she fleshes out the characters. The last one was the best. I was sad to find out there would be no more. Good mysteries with Witches treated realistically and respectfully are hard to come by. While I enjoy Madelyn Alt's books, I liked Shirley Damsgaard's better.

Somehow I pictured Lula as taller like M'onique or Queen Latifah not Sherry Sheppard but Sherry is funny.
Anne Morgan Guilbert played The Nanny's grandmother Yetta. She would be perfect but not too sure she is still alive.

message 2885: by Susan (new)

Susan I finished Unholy Death in Princeton yesterday. It was OK, but was a little too "preachy" about the differences between Princeton University and the theological seminary. I figured out one of the murderers well before the end of the book, although the two protagonists, McLeod and Fiona, stumbled on the solution by accident.

She's on 30 Rock sometimes. You should definitely check out those episodes. I think her character on there has some of Lula's attitude.
