Ariel (sevenmoonlight) | 138 comments I just finished Hexes and Hemlines (A Witchcraft Mystery, #3) by Juliet Blackwell Hexes and Hemlines and I loved it. It is a paranormal cozy and the series gets better with each book IMHO.

I didn't like this one as much as CAST-OFF COVEN. I think it was the storyline.

I have listened to all of the Agatha books on audio so it sounds like that is a good thing because I get annoyed by errors.

message 2804: by Mary Ellen (new)

Mary Ellen (raven51) | 12 comments I just finished Agatha Raisin and the Quiche of Death. I tried one of the other Agatha Raisin books and didn't care for it, but I really liked this one.

message 2805: by alicia (new)

alicia grant (shesha556) I just finished Scared Stiff (Mattie Winston, #2) by Annelise Ryan and i really enjoyed it alot. It was so funny in parts and a little gross. I really love Mattie Winston.

message 2806: by Susan (new)

Susan | 95 comments I just finished the first Garden mystery by Joyce and Jim Lavene called Pretty Poison. It was really good. I have the next two in the series that I will be getting to.
Pretty Poison (A Peggy Lee Garden Mystery, #1) by Joyce Lavene

message 2807: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (hanjae) | 82 comments I just finished Evans Above (Constable Evans Mysteries #1) by Rhys Bowen and enjoyed it! Jennifer E. and Sherry (and anyone else I talked to about this), I totally understand what you mean about the difference between the Constable Evans series and the Royal Spyness/Molly Murphy series now. Evans Above is an interesting story but it's also very calm and laid-back, so while I'm looking forward to reading the next one, I'm not dying of anticipation or rushing to put it on top of my TBR pile.

Not that I have much of a choice there, though; no library anywhere in the whole of northern Sydney has book 3, Evanly Choirs! I might end up having to buy the hardback for $26, since the paperbacks are out-of-print too.

message 2808: by Shay (new)

Shay | 408 comments Hannah, you should try betterworld books. There are two "kinds" of books- marketplace and non-marketplace. The non-marketplace definitely ships worldwide for free- no minimum purchase. You should double check the marketplace shipping rules. They're mostly used books though, if you don't object to books that aren't new.

message 2809: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (hanjae) | 82 comments Thanks for the heads-up about Betterworldbooks, Shay! I forgot about that site. I'm happy to get used books as long as they're not falling apart, so that's not a problem. I'll keep an eye on the marketplace and see whether anyone puts up a reasonably priced copy; mostly seems to be overpriced ex-library books at the moment.

message 2810: by Julia (new)

Julia (juliawebb) Just read Truly, Madly by Heather Webber! Excellent first in the series. I read the whole book in one day,'cause I just couldn't put it down!
I'm looking forward to the next in this series.

message 2811: by Susan (new)

Susan I finished Murder of a Pink Elephant. I know some people in this group are tired of Skye, but I find her and her family entertaining. Perhaps it's because I also work in a school and find that the descriptions of Skye's job ring true.

message 2812: by Becky (new)

Becky I just finished Larcency and Lace (A Vintage Magic Mystery, #2) by Annette Blair and thought it was a fun read.

Kathy, I'm reading Murder on the Rocks right now and I'm really enjoying it! I've already check the library to make sure they have the 2nd book ;)

His first A Beautiful Blue Death A Beautiful Blue Death (Charles Lenox Mysteries, #1) by Charles Finch is very good. It was nominated for an Agatha award. You might also like C.S. Harris, hers are set in Regency England.
Have you read the historical mysteries byVictoria Thompson or the Molly Murphy mysteries by Rhys Bowen? Both are set in New York.

Glad to hear you enjoyed the series! Hopefully you'll find Evanly Choirs soon. :)

message 2819: by Joanna (new)

Joanna | 8 comments Just finished another Agatha Raisin, The Wizard of Evesham. I had not read one in a while and found it very refreshing. Weird way to describe a book but there it is.

message 2820: by Caroline (new)

Caroline | 661 comments Dru - We think so much alike. I thought A Killing in Antiques (A Lucy St. Elmo Antiques Mystery, #1) by Mary Moody was okay too. Just finished that and Books Can Be Deceiving (Library Lover's Mystery, #1) by Jenn McKinlay . Thank goodness I still have more new books waiting in the TBR pile! I read so fast, it's pathetic. Then again, I'm retired now so I have more time to read all night if I feel like it. : )

message 2821: by Susan (new)

Susan | 95 comments I just finished reading A Taste of the Nightlife by Sarah Zettel which is the first Vampire Chef mystery. It was really good especially if you like supernatural with your mystery.

A Taste of the Nightlife (Vampire Chef, #1) by Sarah Zettel

message 2822: by Toni (new)

Toni (cherrycherry) | 57 comments I just finished Buttercream Bump Off (Cupcake Bakery Mystery, #2) by Jenn McKinlay and thought it was pretty good. I've just come off a Stephanie Plum bender (6 books in about 2 weeks or something) so I'm having a hard time re-integrating into other series right now. I forced myself to stop reading Plum books for fear of burn out, but it's making it hard to choose other books to read.

I'll be reading this one after Books Can Be Deceiving (Library Lover's Mystery, #1) by Jenn McKinlay . I'm a vampire junkie!

I really enjoy this series and get through the books quite quickly. I think the series becomes more interesting after the first book. I always enjoy Helen's scenes with Margery Flax.

message 2826: by adlin (new)

adlin | 101 comments I just finished The Witness Wore Blood Bay by L.C. Evans and really enjoyed it. The mystery was probably one of the best ones I've read in a while. I knew it would all tie together and it did, but it wasn't corny. Also, not a problem if you not into horses.

message 2827: by Nola (new)

Nola Myer | 21 comments Just finished A Deadly Cliché (A Books by the Bay Mystery, #2) by Ellery Adams and Grace Interrupted (Manor of Murder, #2) by Julie Hyzy . Not my favorites.

I didn't like this book, but the series finally grew on me with the 3rd book.

Nancy Bradford (nlb1050) | 77 comments Just finished Bake Sale Murder (Lucky Stone, #13) by Leslie Meier and as the others in this series I loved it. I had gotten it free for Kindle.

message 2830: by Mollie (new)

Mollie (molliebee) | 53 comments I just finished a mystery--I'm not sure it's cozy. It was "Madam, Will You Talk?" by Mary Stewart. Seems that it's a bit more suspenseful than cozies, but there was no graphic sex, violence, or language. And it was written very well. I'm most familiar with her Merlin series and was surprised to find out about her mysteries. Worth a read.

Mary Stewart wrote several romance suspense novels prior to the Merlin series. They are favorites of mine. Because they were published a few years ago ('70s), you may have to look for them at the library or at a UBS (used book store). I'm told Susanna Kearsley has a similar style.

Her books are well worth a read. I loved them! Romance, danger, mystery and strong heroines. All time favorite is The Ivy Tree.

You might try Frank, Incense and Muriel by Anne K. Albert. It was a lot of fun and a couple of parts made me laugh out loud, which I don't do easily when reading. Just a thought.

message 2835: by Paula (new)

Paula (pauldajo) I finished reading The Weed That Strings the Hangman's Bag. I was afraid that I would not like the written version, since I listened to the first book in the series. I did like the story, though. I'm still upset over the sister's interactions. In my opinion Feely is vicious toward Flavia.

message 2836: by Nancy (new)

Nancy Bradford (nlb1050) | 77 comments Another book down. Started and finished Snuffed Out (A Candlemaking Mystery, #2) by Tim Myers . One thing I really like about this series is how easy the books are to read.

The plot was nothing much, almost non-existent, but I can never say no to a new Stephanie Plum adventure-all the characters ( especially Lula and Granma Mazur )are one of a kind and I can't get enough of them!
