Heidi | 2446 comments Just finished Size 14 Is Not Fat Either (Heather Wells Series #2) by Meg Cabot . I love Meg Cabot.

message 2752: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer (jhaltenburger) Just finished Sew Deadly Sew Deadly (A Southern Sewing Circle, #1) by Elizabeth Lynn Casey and really liked it, even though I accidentally read the one that comes after it first and so already knew who the bad guy turned out to be. Good series!

message 2753: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (hanjae) | 82 comments I finally finished Requiem for a Mezzo (Daisy Dalrymple, #3) by Carola Dunn . I actually enjoyed it, but the middle dragged a bit and I put it down for a few days before I got tired of flailing around and finished it off. It's certainly not as good as the first two books - perhaps it was the move away from the classic country manor house settings into the city? I'm excited about reading the fourth book, regardless.

Elizabeth (elizabeth8921) | 5308 comments Death of a Witch by M.B. Beaton. All her and Rhys Bowens' books are habit forming, funny, quirky and
habit forming

Nancy Bradford (nlb1050) | 77 comments Just finished Sheer Folly (Daisy Dalrymple, #18) by Carola Dunn and really enjoyed it. Even though this book is one of the newest in the series I had no trouble with not having read anyor the first ones. I will definitely have to get more.

message 2759: by Nora-adrienne (new)

Nora-adrienne (nora_adrienne) So far this weekend I've finished, Grace Interrupted by Julie Hyzy (5 Stars) and Ink Flamingos by Karen E. Olson (5 Stars).

Sometime today or early tomorrow I'll be posting my reviews here at goodreads, and also at my own blog site.

www.noraadrienne.wordpress.com

I'd love to have you visit it and sign up for the e-posts when I put up a new review. I've found out that unless I show credible numbers of followers, the publishers won't send out ARC's or pre-release copies. So far I've gotten around this by requesting them directly from authors who I actually know.

I just took a look at your blog. Was looking at your list of upcoming books and saw that you have the 2nd Cat in the Stacks book listed as an August release. It actually came out in May, I believe, as I read it a while back.

Finished reading The Long Quiche Goodbye by Avery Aames yesterday. A pretty good mystery, though it did make me hungry for cheese (must visit Fromagination next time I'm up town). Would definitely read the next book in this series.

Susie Fevella (susieinks) | 821 comments Finished Sentenced to Death and Honeymoons Can Be Murder. Both were pretty good. I did enjoy the other Booktown mysteries a little more than Sentenced to Death.

message 2764: by Catherine (new)

Catherine (catjackson) Just finished Chile Death Chile Death (China Bayles, #7) by Susan Wittig Albert this afternoon. I've been (slowly!) reading this series and really liked this one. The discussions about herbs make a connection for me because I've had an herb garden for a while and I like being able to almost smell the herbs; my grandmother and I used to talk about and work together with herbs.

message 2765: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (hanjae) | 82 comments Finished Cut to the Corpse (A Decoupage Mystery, #2) by Lucy Lawrence just then. Good follow-up to Stuck on Murder, though the mystery itself wasn't as well-developed.

message 2766: by Melodie (new)

Melodie (melodieco) | 5280 comments Finished Evil Eclairs (Donut Shop Mystery, #4) by Jessica Beck . Not great, but not bad!

I have that waiting for me on audiobook. Can't wait. :)

message 2769: by Susan (new)

Susan I just finished Billy Boyle. At first glance, it's not what we might think of as a cozy, but it does adhere to the definition of one. The main character is a Boston cop who is about to be drafted into WWII. He becomes an officer who is assigned to "Uncle Ike" in England and then goes on to solve a murder. The characters are well-developed and very likeable. This is the first in a series and I'll definitely be reading the others.

message 2770: by Ellen (new)

Ellen (elliearcher) Just finished Death of a Gentle Lady (Hamish Macbeth, #24) by M.C. Beaton . Had some of the best plot but I got bord in the middle part.

message 2771: by Susan (new)

Susan Finished Death of a Travelling Man this afternoon. Not a bad way to spend an hour or so on a summer day. I like the characters and am sure I will read a book or two from this series now and then.

I really like the Abby Cooper books. The first 2 Ghost Hunter books were okay, but then they just got too silly words for me. I read the latest one, but won't read any more of them.

I see Jenn McKinlay is going to have yet another new series, the Good Buy Girls. Can't remember the title of the first book.

I was hoping to win a copy of this on the Goodreads giveaway, but got shut out. Have read the other books, and still think the first one is the best one.

Zoe (bookwormfromathens) | 712 comments I just finished Fundraising the Dead (Museum Mystery, #1) by Sheila Connolly and I really enjoyed it, since I'm a museum lover.Looking forward to the second installment.

message 2783: by Nell (last edited Jul 03, 2011 09:28AM) (new)

Nell | 1223 comments Finished Death of an Outsider Death of an Outsider (Hamish Macbeth, #3) by M.C. Beaton , another Hamish MacBeth. This one is set in a different village, has some of the recurring characters along with residents of this town. How the corpse becomes a skeleton made me think twice about a certain seafood.

message 2784: by Caroline (new)

Caroline | 661 comments Melodie and Kim - I guess that's why there are so many authors out there. I enjoy all of Victoria Lauries's series and don't like some of the "main" authors that are really popular (like Janet Evanovich).

I just finished Mimosas, Mischief, and Murder (A Mom Zone Mystery #6) by Sara Rosett A Pizza To Die For (Pizza Lovers, #3) by Chris Cavender and Unraveled (A Knitting Mystery, #9) by Maggie Sefton . Enjoyed all of them. Oh yeah, before that, I reread all the Southern Sewing Circle books (I won the basket from Elizabeth Lynn Casey at the silent auction at Malice), in order and I love this series as much as I did the first time I read them. Now I'm ready for the next in the series but :( have to wait till November for the next one.

I read PINNED FOR MURDER in June and wasn't nuts about it. The characters were almost too sweet. Never read the first one. I have the third as I bought it first. I couldn't resist the pretty cover. Hope I like it better.

message 2788: by Ellen (new)

Ellen (elliearcher) Just finished Resort to Murder by Carolyn Hart. I loved everything about it-except the ending which I guessed way in advance. :(
The description of Bermuda was very appealing, as an older woman I liked the age of the heroine as well as her character & the writing was excellent. So I've downloaded another in that series Set Sail for Murder since I generally liked the book. Hopefully, I won't guess the murderer this time!

message 2789: by Nell (new)

Nell | 1223 comments Finished Agatha Raisin and the Wizard of Evesham Agatha Raisin and the Wizard of Evesham (Agatha Raisin, #8) by M.C. Beaton . Pulled this off the bookshelf because she was a featured author. It was a good mystery. Agatha is paired with Sir Charles in this one. He's a much better counterpoint to her character than her neighbor, James.

message 2790: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (hanjae) | 82 comments Just finished Top O' the Mournin' (Passport to Peril, #2) by Maddy Hunter and liked it. Not as good as the first, but I love the characters and the humour.

I just purchased this book and it's in my TBR pile. I'm hoping I like it.

I read this last month and really liked it. I'm anxious to read Buttercream Bump Off (Cupcake Bakery Mystery, #2) by Jenn McKinlay .

message 2800: by Nell (new)

Nell | 1223 comments Just finished Agatha Raisin and the Witch of Wyckhadden Agatha Raisin and the Witch of Wyckhadden (Agatha Raisin, #9) by M.C. Beaton . In this one, Agatha is staying off-season at a resort hotel recovering from an incident in the previous book. Enough twist and turns that I did not guess the killer.
There were an annoying number of editing mistakes - using the wrong word (e.g., like instead of look). Reads as though the publisher used spell check instead of readers to find mistakes. It was striking because I read a few Hamish mysteries published in the '80s just before; they didn't contain these mistakes.
