and I haven't liked it. Too much chick-lit for me.

Sorry to hear about the Dire Threads fiasco. I don't like cozies that portray the law characters as TSTL. It really takes away from the credibility of the plot.
Finished
. This was a great lighthearted cozy. The main character Kitzi is a former senator, inspirational speaker and hobby beader. The plot centers around Kitzi's friends attending Bead camp and is full of fun. Sadly, this author passed away in 2005 and book 2 in this series is co-authored. I think this would have been a wonderful series. She did publish a series prior to this one called Purple Sage which I may have to dig around for.-Kimmie

The Heart of Texas (Austin) chapter of Sisters in Crime (a writing support group for mystery authors) honors her memory in May with the Barbara Burnett Smith Aspiring Writers Project. It pairs aspiring writers with established mentor writers.
Finished
. Good addition, not a great one, to the series. I'm on schedule to be caught up in time for her newest to arrive. :)
Just finished
and it was really good. I did figure out who the murderer was but that's okay. It's still a good read.
Just finished Patterns in the Sand no 2 in the knitting series by Sally GoldenbaumA great light read
I just finished
by Miranda James. Very Agatha Christie, with a mansion and a butler and all sorts of odd relatives living under the same roof. Diesel the Maine coon cat is a delight, and his owner Charlie makes for a solid amateur sleuth. This is the second installment in a terrific new series. I loved it!
Karen wrote: "Just finished The Cat Who Blew the Whistle. Up to her usual good standards!"So sad to hear she passed away. I remember a few years ago going on the waitlist at the library for one of her books. The release date came and went. I guess she had been sick for a while- I believe she died of a heart ailment.
I just finished Deryn Lake's "Death in the Dark Walk," and I loved it. I need to find a copy of "Death at the Beggar's Opera" at something like a reasonable price, because my library doesn't have it, and I can't even get it through ILL.
Kathie wrote: "I just returned Maisie Dobbs to the library. I could not stick it! I tried but it just did not engage me at all. I got about 25% through it."I fought my way through it; since so many people had raved about this series, I thought I must be missing something. That is the last time I'll force myself to read a book just because other people like it!
Finished Agatha Raisin and the Quiche of Death yesterday. It was an okay read. I would probably read more in the series, at least the next book or two, even though most of the characters tended to irritate.
Just finished
. Pleasantly surprised with how much I liked it since I really didn't like the first in this series.
Just finished The Big Dirt Nap
by Rosemary Harris. This is the second book in this series; the first one was much better (nominated for an Agatha). It was a mistake to set the second book at an out-of-town hotel. The primary/recurring characters and the home setting aren't established enough to leave home this early in a series. This one needed to be edited - TSTL scenes, too many characters. Because I liked the first one, I'll read the third one which is set back in the character's home town. Hoping this was a sophomore slump.
I just finished A Decadent Way To Die. It was OK, but the murder in the book seemed like a backdrop to the real theme of domestic abuse.
Finished Sucker Punch by Sammi Carter and I really liked it a lot. I like the relationship development between Abby and Jawarski too

I couldn't finish any of these either. Dunno why.

I've got abou 20 pages to go in the last one yet published in the series. So hang in there.

I'll have to keep an ear out for these books, I'd listen to anything she narrated!
I just finished
and LOVED it. I adore Georgie, there's more developments from the Darcy angle, and the setting in Scotland was wonderful. Can't wait to get my hands on the fourth one!
I just finished Killer Listing and gave it 4 stars. It was a great mystery, well-plotted, and kept me guessing until the end. I recommend it!
Susie in KS wrote: "Finished

Just finished
and really enjoyed it! This series is a favorite of mine and was pleasantly surprised when Amazon shipped it about 4 weeks early!
Melodie wrote: "Just finished

I finished all but one of the books I was reading:
and enjoyed them all. Now, to finish
and start
. Gotta pick a new audio, too--maybe
which I'm reading for a summer challenge.
Recentley finished:
,
,
,
, and
. I have been trying to get through some of the books I own and I happen to have a lot of "firsts" being the first in mystery series. I enjoyed all of them imensely, but my favorite was Murder is Binding, followed by What Angels Fear, although I don't know if I consider Angels a cozy. I bought the second Booktown mystery and can't wait to continue with the others. Currently plugging away at
I finished
yesterday and concluded my Spring Challenge. It was fun, with plenty of quirky characters, at times a bit far-fetched but all in all highly enjoyable.
Just finished
. I posted earlier that I didn't care for Agatha's personality. By the time I finished the book, I wanted to run out and buy the next one! I still think Agatha is a little too cold, but there is something about the books that are addicting! Also, not a cozy, but just finished
by Erica Spindler. It was so good I read it in two days!
Caitlin wrote: "Just finished

Finished a bunch recently but wasn't online much. Read
(loved it)
(lots of fun)
(enjoyed it a lot)
(great!)
(really enjoyed it and the ice cream they talked about made me HUNGRY!)
(I like Lorraine's books but this one was a bit strange to me with the plane crash and all). Ah well. Lots of good summertime reading!
I finished
yesterday. Fun read as always, but there was some bad editing in it which drove me nuts. I mentioned one of the errors before and another that really stuck out for me was misspelling "console" (the one in a car) as "consul"!
Caroline wrote: "Finished a bunch recently but wasn't online much. Read

right now, but I'm not really enjoying it as much as the others in this series...not sure why.
I just finished
and thought it was the best yet in this series. Now I'm reading
, and it's not bad. After that, I think it will be
.
Finished
last night. I didn't take to it right away, but I think that was just the mood I was in. After a break I picked it back up and enjoyed it.
Cupcakegirl09 wrote: "OMG, I am so glad I found this site!!! I am sooo totally addicted!!"I know what you mean. It has helped me get a HUGH wish list on Amazon.
