I also finished this yesterday and totally agree with you, Susan.
Finished Baltimore Blues (Tess Monaghan Mysteries by Laura Lippman last night. I liked it, but had mixed feelings about the main character, Tess Monaghan.
In some ways I could relate to her (ie: losing a job you loved and struggling to find where you fit in while not feeling good at anything), but there were other aspects of her character that lowered my respect for her (ie: Johnathon). All in all I did like the book, at least well enough to read the next in the series, Charm City, which I have already started.

This series was a favorite of mine and I hated that it ended!

I've been looking at the Granny Apples books. I love Sue Ann Jaffarian's Odelia Gray series.

Melissa, I read all the Anne George books and enjoyed all of them. I live in the area so that made them extra fun. I thought she did a really good job of capturing the local atmosphere and culture.

That one is next up on my Kindle. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it!

Good job Caroline! I've actually got four of those ready to read, and I've already read Ghost in the Polka Dot Bikini. I just can't read fast enough.

Melodie, I really think you would enjoy the Granny Apples books!

Glad you liked Lucy's adventures! I finally read the first 2 in this series late last year and was hooked. Now reading

Felt the same way about this one. I gave it 2 stars when I read it, primarily for the great sounding recipes! I read the 2nd one. It was very marginally better, but haven't read the 3rd one and probably won't unless I can get it on PBS.

Finished reading Charm City last night. I have book three, Butcher's Hill, on the TBR pile, but am taking a break from Lippman for a couple more in vogue with Valentine's Day by Kate Collins. Okay, so there will still be murder and mayhem, but there's also flowers. *g*

I couldn't even finish this one, so you did better than I did ;)

Good idea to take a break Heather. I'm listening to Butcher's Hill right now and it's moving rather slowly...

I have never been able to get into Laura Lippman's books. I really want to like them, but I just don't. She's a really nice, funny lady and is always great at B'cons.

What? My God, I haven't looked at it in that way (BTW, Amanda Quick is usually like that), so perhaps I'll reread it (no effort at all :-) ), and I'll choose it for clue (I've some problems with certain rooms).

I also finished

Kimmie,
I loved all of the Barbara Michaels books, with the exception of Other Worlds, her last one. She writes as Elizabeth Peters as well, in case you didn't know and her stand alones are really good there as well. Enjoy reading her books!
