I was bored by it myself. It is nice to see there are others out there that agree :)

I always liked this series and was hoping there might be at least another one.

Those Blackbird series are too funny for words. Love that series! I sure hope there are more. I just went to her website and the next book out is in April but it is a Roxy Abruzzo one. I didn't really care for that character at all. I sent her an e mail asking if there will be more of the Blackbird sisters.

We are two peas in a pod Jaimie.

Well I got it on my Kindle and the end of the story was at like 75% so when I was in the middle and it would say I was only at 30% or something I was dear god how long is this story! I didn't read the short story that followed but I was grateful it wasn't as long as I thought it was.

Will do, Jennifer-in-oz! I hope she does respond. Did you read the Roxy Abruzzo book? Unfortunately, I can't say I cared for the character much. A little too coarse for my taste.

I can see your point about the party, but I think people would have been terribly upset with a book where they got all the black people in town to dress up as slaves. I know I would have found it disturbing. I really liked this book just as it was.

I love this series, too. Got grabbed up by the first book and this one didn't disappoint either!

I finished Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder in October and still have it on my desk.
I agree that the story wasn't all that special and I usually donate all the books I've read, but I really want to try some of the recipes. I've searched, but I haven't found these online. Joanne Fluke's website only has a featured recipe, so I might hold onto this book a little bit longer... I've read a couple of her books and all of the recipes sound so dangerously delicious.

That would have been disturbing and completely improbable as well. But there's a ton of space between those two extremes. We can agree to disagree about how she presented that scene or whether it was even necessary to move the mystery forward. Moving past that it was an entertaining mystery and though I had the murderer among my suspects, the ending was unexpected.

love this series!
I've just finished Hooked Up: A Stock Car Racing Mystery and, although I've liked their other series, I have not been hooked on this. I don't know, I didn't like the characters.

The Missing Ink – Karen E. Olson
Pretty in Ink – Karen E. Olson
A Killer Crop – Sheila Connolly
A Deadly Row – Casey Mayes
I'm currently reading the first two books in Leann Sweeney's Cat and Quilt series. It's my pleasure to be friends with her through a few venues and I love her writing.

I love the Chocolate Chip Crunch Cookies - it's the only way I make Chocolate Chip cookies anymore. It's also fun to give them to someone and after they eat it, tell them you got the recipe from a murder mystery.

I'm disappointed to hear this isn't good. I so wanted to read it just based on the cover. I feel an overwhelming urge to buy it every time I see the cover and it's always coming up on the "suggested" books on my Amazon and B&N account.

I was happy to share it with you Melodie! I felt exactly the same way about it, and won't be reading the next one.

Hi Jennifer, just got an answer from Nancy - the next Blackbird sisters book will be out in about a year. Long wait but, YAY, there is another one coming.

I gave up on this series with THAI DIE, which I thought was awful!

I've looked TO HAVE & TO KILL, but am not willing to spring for hardcover!

You're welcome! I'm just thrilled she answered.

I'm with Melodie. I also gave up on this series...which I used to really enjoy ;(
