I just finsihed Blooming Murder by Jean Hager. I enjoyed the story and the characters and I will look for the next book in the series.

I just finished . I found this book at the library not heard of this author before, but I have to say I am disappointed. Nothing exciting happens.It was a very slow drawn out book, an ok read but very bland.

I am now reading and enjoying it a lot so far..

I just finished Royal Blood by Rhys Bowen. It is the 4th Royal Spyness Mystery. I enjoyed it a lot. I like Georgie, the main character, a lot and I like the time it is set in 1930's.

Melodie, I gave up on this series and then decided to try The Catered Birthday Party, thinking maybe I had been unfair in my judgment. Wrong! I couldn't even make it to the end. I think the bookcovers draw me in, but then I am left disappointed. Sorry you didn't enjoy this one ;(

I'm wondering if I am being too hard on Agatha. I did not like this one at all. I started reading it and it seemed a bit choppy so I switched to audio and still didn't care for it. It's funny how the opinions vary from one person to another.

I love Agatha Raisin on audio, but as with the character in general, she has to grow on you. I would agree some of her books are better than others.

If you want to laugh at Agatha's cooking adventures, try Kissing Christmas Goodbye. I thought that was one of the funnier books.

I finished listening to . I am really loving this series. However, I really despise her ex-husband. The way he treats her and his relationship with their son reminds me of Goldy Schultz and her ex.

I just tried reading Cat on the Scent and just couldn't finish it, stopping at Chapter 14, page 78. I felt it was taking too long to build the background of the story and other events that I'm not even sure were relevant to the storyline. They probably were, but I was losing patience. I've read Rest in Pieces and Murder at Monticello years ago and enjoyed them. Oh well, I'll try another one at some point.

Have been stuck in the house all week waiting to find out if I managed to get Whooping Cough(?!?!) - I haven't - and used the time to get lots more reading done. :)

Finished Berried to the Hilt - I really like this series but for some reason this one left me feeling just so-so. Felt formulaic, but I'll still read the next one.

Finished Uncatalogued - I liked the last one best, but this one was interesting, if involved. Too many near death experiences packed into each book for my liking, but the lore is fascinating.

Finally, Fundraising the Dead. I was dreading this book as the recent reviews here were not favourable. But I have to say I enjoyed it much more than the Orchard series. It's not going to be in my top ten favorite series, but I'll read the next one. I really liked Marty. :)

If I have to be home "sick" at least I'm well enough to start making a dent in the massive Pile! lol... until I start buying more books...

Finished The Holy Thief! Ah, the adventures of Brother Cadfael who encounters a French troubadour and a girl whose voice is so pure it compared to an angel. Then a flood threatens the bones of the Saint Winifred. Of course, there is a murder and the bones of the saint disappear. Are the two incidents connected? It's up to Brother Cadfael to investigate both and find out. Can the murderer be apprehended and the bones recovered? Read another delightful adventurous mystery with Brother Cadfael. A delightful read.

I finished . It was an enjoyable read, good mystery and loved all the talk of food, baking and recipes. Alhtough I must admit I expected more recipes in the back of the book! I liked this authors style of writing and I didnt figure out who done it, I will read more by this author ;)

I like Kate Collins as well, I read all her flower books, and she is a gifted writer. I have yet to get Dirty Rotten Tendrils, sounds like a good read.

Ijust finished and again this series is just ok for me. I like Annie and Max most of the time (Annie is a little over the top with her attitude sometimes but she's young so...) The blinders the Sheriff always seem to put on that annoy the heck out of me and I think that's the part I'm having trouble with in this series. I'll continue to read/listen to the rest of the series because of the other books I read about.

anybody know what a stack overflow warning is? I get it whenever I sign on to goodreads--well, it just started today.

Anyway just finished today. It was a pleasant little tale and I liked the juxtapositioning of the heroines discovery of her dead husband's character against diary entries he had made two years prior to the story. It is called a novel of suspense but I didn't find it terribly suspensful though I liked the discussions of antiquities and the copies made of them. I particularly liked the comments about modern copies being considered non-artistic fakes and Roman copies of Greek antiquities being considered as valuable and noteworthy as the originals on which they are modeled. Never thought of that before but it only goes to show that the designation of great and priceless on works of art is so arbitrary. I don't even like the Mona Lisa and she is puny besides. LOL

Just finished and that one left me feeling like "so what?" Didn't really like it that much - it just left me feeling blah - not really strongly for or against. The other book I finished was great! Now that one left me feeling good and looking forward to another book in the series! Brooklyn and her family and friends are really great.

Agree on both counts! Bernie & Libby drove me up the wall in A CATERED THANKSGIVING, and the bad guy was a huge "ho-hum". Gave it 2 stars which was being extremely generous. Loved THE LIES THAT BIND!

I just finished "Moving Violation" by Melanie Jackson.
The humor was really enjoyable. I am still debating about the main person, I enjoyed her but she did get on my nerves a little. But not enough not to finish and enjoy it.

Flew to California this weekend and got through 3 books on the plane rides.

- I really enjoy this series. I read the preview for the next book and can't wait for the new one in July!

- This one took a lot for me to get through. There were so many characters introduced that I didn't feel like I could get a grasp on who they all were throughout the book. I picked up the next one to give it a try. Hopefully that will be better.

- Enjoyed this one as well. Took a little bit for me to get into, but I liked the character development.

I like the Abby Cooper series and the yoga series, too. Caught up with both so just waiting for new books.

I've just finished two mysteries. The first, Mum's the Word by Kate Collins, I'm not sure about. I picked it up years ago when it was first published, but, I must have been in a mood or something because I could not get past the first chapter. But everyone had such good things to say about the series that I gave the book another go. I found it better than I did the first time, but still - I have reservations about ordering the next book in the series. So I wanted to ask everyone - does the series continue to improve? Do the books get better and do the characters stop calling Abby a busybody every second sentence? Advice please! :)

The other book, Uncommon Grounds by Sandra Balzo, I liked very much and have started searching for the next in the series. I thought the story was good - the female characters need some further development but it left me wanting more.

I really like the Flower Shop mysteries, but do recall not being sure about the first one when I finished it. They get better and I thought the newest one was the best so far.

I just finished Fiber and Brimstone by Laura Childs and enjoyed it very much. I love the New Orleans setting and the mystery plot itself. I never guessed who the murderer was.

I just finished a Fatal Feast for the featured author read as well as for a Thanksgiving theme to get me in the mood. While not my favorite of the series, I did enjoy it. I thought the romance between Jessica and George consumed too much of the story and the mystery should have been more of a focus, I do love the ones that take place in Cabot Cove. And it did put me in the holiday mood, so I guess it did its job. I will be starting The Queen's Jewels after I read Juliet.
