Finished a few cozies in the last weeks:"Lead Pipe Cinch" by Christie Evans, the plumber's apprentice who formerly had a computer security company. It really started to fill in the character's background and I think the series is getting better!
Also "Night of the Living Deed" by E. J. Cooperman about Alison Kerby and her nine year old daughter who move into an old victorian fixer upper and find out its inhabited by two ghosts and a cute mystery to find out who did them in...the third one recently read was "A Cast-Off Coven" by Juliet Blackwell.about Lily Ivory a witch that owns a used clothing store and is called in to help find out what's happenning at the local school of fine arts. Great characters! Lots of fun!
I enjoyed all three and recommend them!

Finished and just thought it was so-so. I found it really hard to follow at times and kept forgetting who was who.

Same here, Lisa. I read all three of the books you mentioned and enjoyed them all. I just finished . Maggy Thorsen's coffee shop "Uncommon Grounds" was destroyed in the last book so now she's looking for a new place to do business. When her current business partner, Caron, wants out and her friend Sarah wants in, the whole thing begins to get wild. See how Maggy works on getting a new place to do business. : )

I finished the other day, too, and thought it was a good enough read. For some reason it didn't hold my interest for more than 1/2 hour or 45 minutes at a time.

I'm reading much of what the rest of you are. I just read the two Christie Evans plumber's apprentice books. I enjoyed them, and will buy more of her books in the future. They are just light quick reads.

I liked the Manor book by Hyzy a lot, it's more of a straight-up mystery than her humorous White House chef series, which I enjoy too.

I just finished Cockatiels at Seven by Andrews. I always start out thinking her books are 'too cute', but by the end, I'm laughing. I got very tired of the toddler in this book, perhaps the author is making a point about why cozy authors never let their lady sleuths have babies.

I just finished by Madelyn Alt. It is the third in the Bewitching Mystery series. I really enjoy this series that has humor and a touch of magic.

I just finished Drop Dead Stitch by Maggie Sefton. I liked it and having gone to college in Fort Collins, this series brings back great memories.

Just closed the book . Amazing, as usual. I felt I got to tag along on the Gamaches' holiday. This series only continues to get more magnificent. I learn so much on so many levels from Penny and her characters.

I just finished "Cherry Cheesecake Murder" by Joanne Fluke (one of my June theme reads). It was just a little slow for me, but I still enjoyed it.

I finished Truly, Madly last night. I went into it really not expecting much for some reason. The only reason it went up in my TBR pile was because the cover was purple and I needed it for my rainbow challenge. Boy was I surprised. I loved it. There wasn't one character I didn't like and it definately left me wanting more. I usually don't like supernatural themes(I didn't know the main character had "special powers" until I started the book) but I enjoyed this book enough that I wasn't even put off by it.

Same for me. I hadn't a lot of expectations, but when I got it at Bookmooch I enjoyed a lot, and now I'm waiting for the second one.

I read Cream Puff Murder by Joanne Fluke the other day. Well I listened to the audio version. I think I am done with the series. I'm so sick of the love triangle thing. The murder mystery was almost an after thought to this book. Is was more about Moisha and the Christmas Tree, making coffee and baking. Seemed like halfway through the book she remembered that someone was supposed to be murdered and tossed it in there.

I have Apple Turnover downloaded onto my IPOD from the library. So I maybe listen to that one. But I double I'll get any new ones.

I just finished this last night and gave it 3 stars. I really liked the setting and the main characters. I found the ending somehow unsatisfying though. I look forward to reading the next book when it comes out.

I've only read "Cherry Cheesecake Murder" by Joanne Fluke, but I wasn't impressed. It was really slow to me and seemed to drag; I'll definitely wait to read some of her other books.

I just finished The Cold Light of Mourning: A Mystery by, Elizabeth J. Duncan good cozy set in a quaint Welsch Village.I highly recommend it!

Yes, I know - this post is really old! Sorry, I'm still catching up on all the threads! LOL. I'll catch up soon - promise!

I just had to pipe up on this one though. Many people make this same mistake (including some physicians who haven't done their homework!), but many different types of pain medications are perfectly safe to take while nursing a baby (with the only side effect of making the baby a little sleepy), and it is much preferable to continue nursing the baby rather than to stop (even temporarily) nursing with all the problems that can cause. I think it's great that the author was so educated about it and added it in the story. Makes me want to read the book. I stuck it on my TBR list! :-) Sorry - retired La Leche League leader here! LOL.

I just finished The Cat Who Went Up the Creek. I just love Lilian Jackson Braun. When life gets too overwhelming, I pick up one of her books, and I feel all warm and fuzzy!

I finished reading Death in Show by Judi McCoy. I enjoyed it. I posted the review at my blog. Interesting debate over sign-language versus lip reading was highlighted.

I am with everyone else who has given up on Joanne Fluke's Hannah Swensen books.The Cherry Cheesecake Murder' was the first book of hers I had read,and the book that introduced me to cozies. The triangle with the two men in her life was plain annoying, with the murder taking a backseat. I tried again with the 'Sugar Cookie Murder' I enjoyed this one better, but I gave her another go with the 'Carrot Cake Murder' and could not get into it at all! The whole writing seemed forced and again there was the love triangle and her mother and the cat. Not to my liking so I swore to myself I would not pick another of this series up no matter how lovely the front cover! ;)

I just finished The Cold Room which gets me caught up with this series and completes my Spring Challenge! I am wishy-washy with this series sometimes I like it...other times it is just too graphic for me(or gross as this last one was). It's definately not cozy.

I just finished this morning. I wasn't sure when I started this one if I was going to like it or not. I couldn't decide if I liked Oliva or not. I just couldn't relate to her--she just seemed like she thought she was so much better than everyone else(which she did I think) but as the book went on she became much more likeable to me and the other characters were also very likable. I gave it 4 stars but would have given it 5 if it hadn't taken me 1/3 of the book to warm up to it.

I just finished Since You're Leaving Anyway, Take Out the Trash - what a hoot! I've read 2 other books in this series - not sure why I read them out of order as that is very unusual for me. I hope Dixie Cash writes more as I think I've only got one left to read!

I just finished Dead Pan by Gayle Trent. I enjoyed it. My version included an excerpt from the next one, so I assume one is to be released. However, fantasticfiction.com shows the book I just read to be released in August. It doesn't make sense. Her website also doesn't say anything about a new release.

I got about ten pages from the end of Frankly My Dear, I'm Dead before I had to leave for work this morning. Do you know how frustrating that is?? And no, I have no qualms about sneaking in those last few pages at work this afternoon if I get the chance. Like no one here has never done that... ;)

I just finished The Case of the Bouncing Grandma by A. K. Arenz. What a good read, it is a Christian Mystery and it was pretty fun. Loved the family in it. Can't wait to read the second one.
