Shannon (dolphinlover) | 290 comments I have just finished Red Delicious Death (An Orchard Mystery, #3) by Sheila Connolly and enjoyed it very much. Ms Connolly has definitely redeemed herself with this one. I look forward to the next installment in this series.

Sallie(GeorgiaGirl) (shuga) | 217 comments I just finished Murder Melts in Your Mouth Murder Melts in Your Mouth (Blackbird Sisters Mystery, #7) by Nancy Martin ...I have enjoyed this series, all 7 books, but I am rather sad that this was the last book in the series. The author does try to tie everything up in a nice little bow but at the same time left things a little up in the air just in case she decides to add to the series in the future. The books were great reads & I loved the characters.

Hey how was this book? I read the first one in this series and really enjoyed it. Let me know if this one is good as the first one.

I just left a short review on it. I still enjoyed it, but not as much as the first one. The mysteries were good, but I figured out who the suspect was early on. I still really like the main and supporting characters though!

Heidi | 2446 comments Miki - when you are posting a comment, at the top of the comment box you click on add book/author, then you click on cover instead of link right below the search bar. If you leave it on link, it just has the title written out.

Barb | 40 comments I just finished 'The Teaberry Strangler' by Laura Childs and thoroughly enjoyed it. Did not figure out whodunnit until it was revealed - the best kind of cozy mystery! The Teaberry Strangler

message 660: by Kelley (new)

Kelley (booknerd69) Just finished reading The Riesling Retribution: 'A Wine Country Mystery by Ellen Crosby and this is really an excellent series. I love the setting of Virginia and the details the author provides paints a picture of the life there. In this latest book, the mystery kind of takes a back seat to the relationship of Lucie and Quinn, but it doesn't detract from anything. The writing is smart, funny and in depth. Each book in this series is better and better and Ellen Crosby really cares about her characters. I was also thrilled to see Eli, Lucie's brother, start being a good guy again and getting away from his horrible wife. I hope he is featured more in the next book.

I really recommend this series. It's one of the best ones out there.

message 661: by Heidi (new)

Heidi | 2446 comments Yeah Miki!

message 662: by Heidi (new)

Heidi | 2446 comments I just finished Plaster and Poison (A Do-It-Yourself Mystery, #3) by Jennie Bentley . I liked it, but wish Avery would stop whining about Derek's ex wife.

message 663: by Melodie (new)

Melodie (melodieco) | 5280 comments I think I'll start Tressed to Kill (Southern Beauty Shop) by Lila Dare this evening since Dru said it was good and we seem to like a lot of the same books!

message 664: by Erin L (new)

Erin L (wellreadmoose) | 505 comments I finished Four to Score (A Stephanie Plum Novel, #4) by Janet Evanovich this weekend. It was great. I've got High Five (A Stephanie Plum Novel, #5) by Janet Evanovich waiting for me. But first I'm going to make some progress on Dragonfly in Amber (Outlander, #2) by Diana Gabaldon which is neither cozy nor a mystery.

I have read Merlot, Bordeaux, and Chardonnay and enjoyed each one. In addition to being good mysteries with a little romance thrown in for good measure, I find that they are filled with interesting historical information as well as some unknown wine facts (at least they were unknown to me)like the need for proper ventilation during the fermentation process because CO2 gas is produced and could be deadly in an enclosed area. Verrrry interesting.

message 666: by Leslie (new)

Leslie I just finished Town in a Blueberry Jam. It was just ok to me. I am hoping the next one will be better. I tend to prefer when our heroine "accidently" starts sleuthing. In this one I didn't even feel that she had a good reason to get involved. I didn't think she even liked the guy arrested until she HAD to prove him innocent. And all the breaking and entering without consequence was a little too much--especially Town Hall--they didn't even blink an eye on that one. Candy's friend Maggie was very irritating. Not funny at all(even though she thought she was). It was easy reading and I liked the author's syle of writing so I'll read the next one and hope I like it better.

I'm one of the people who liked it!

message 670: by Denise (new)

Denise | 618 comments I finished The Cat, the Quilt and the Corpse. It took me quite a while to get into this book (and I am a big cat person). I think one of the reasons is because you had so many characters to learn about. By the end of the book I was liking Jillian and Candace. I will read the second book in the series.

message 671: by Missy (new)

Missy | 32 comments I finished Sprinkle with Murder (A Cupcake Bakery Mystery, #1) by Jenn McKinlay yesterday. I liked it. I will read the next one, but may not actually "buy" the series anymore. I liked the setting and three life-long friends, but it seemed a bit too generic. Although I did like it much more than Glazed Murder A Donut Shop Mystery (Donut Shop Mysteries #1) by Jessica Beck . Also, I wanted to eat cupcakes all day everyday while reading it.

message 672: by Tina (new)

Tina Whittle (tinawhittle) | 30 comments I just finished the first Clare Fergusson and Russ Van Alstyne Mystery,In the Bleak Midwinter and I went straight to the library and put the next three on hold. Thanks to everyone who recommended it -- superior writing and plotting, excellent characterization, a setting that could be a character in itself. Not "cozy" in the sense that it wasn't comfortable or whimsical or light-hearted, but since it also wasn't gory or sensationalistic or exploitative, and was in fact very very traditional, then yes, in the end, a cozy.

The Clare & Russ series is definitely one of the best out there. I was SO disappointed when the new one got delayed.

Tina Whittle (tinawhittle) | 30 comments I'll be standing in line for this one -- until then, I am looking forward to making this series my summer read.

Susan (sumagoo) | 131 comments I just finished Stirring Up Strife by Jennifer Stanley.

Had a hard time getting into it at first but enjoyed the book.

message 677: by Leslie (last edited May 20, 2010 05:19PM) (new)

Leslie I finished Tressed to Kill last night. I read it in one evening--I loved it! I can't wait for the next Southern Beauty Shop Mystery to come out. That John Dillon was something else! Mmmmm!

Miki--I thought Death of a Trophy Wife was good and had some parts that were (to me) laugh out loud funny.

message 678: by Heidi (new)

Heidi | 2446 comments Are those Jaine Austen mysteries good?

message 679: by Susan (new)

Susan (sumagoo) | 131 comments Heidi: I enjoy them alot. I like the humor and enjoy the stories. Even my daughter likes them and she really does not like to read what I read. There was only one book in the series I did not like. I am waiting to read Death of a Trophy wife as I always read her new release on vacation, in Ouray, CO. So I don't know about her new book, daughter read and really enjoyed it.

Theresa (tweezle) | 17 comments I just finished English Trifle (Culinary Mystery, #2) by Josi S. Kilpack and really enjoyed it. I'm definitely going to get the others in this series!

message 681: by Kelley (new)

Kelley (booknerd69) Theresa, I've never heard of this series, but I looked it up and now I have it on reserve at my local library! Thanks for the info on it!!

message 682: by Julie (new)

Julie | 22 comments I just finished I Dreamed I Married Perry Mason A Cece Caruso Mystery by Susan Kandel . I read the 2nd in the Cece Caruso series a few months ago and enjoyed it enough to place this one on hold at the library. That Cece sure is a nutty girl. Sometimes you feel like you are living it with her. Makes you want to visit California. This is the first in the series and was certainly entertaining. I loved the fashion info.

Heidi | 2446 comments Miki wrote: "Just finished Spackled and Spooked (A Do-It-Yourself Mystery, #2) by Jennie Bentley"

I liked this one :)

message 684: by Kelley (new)

Kelley (booknerd69) I didn't really finish it, just stopped reading it, so I am not reviewing Glazed Murder: A Donut Shop Mystery by Jessica Beck. I tried to get into this book but I just couldn't like it. I thought the main character was kind of mean to her employee and I am getting a little tired of people "falling" into the role of detective and deciding they can solve the crime way better than the cop. Especially when there is no chance to see if the police actually fail at it. The whole thing just seemed forced and rushed.

I don't read this series anymore as I didn't like the one last year, but the first one was a hoot! You gotta love a mystery where the murder weapon is a Thighmaster!

message 693: by Priscilla (new)

Priscilla | 127 comments I have just finished reading Pretty is as Pretty Dies (Myrtle Clover, #1) by Elizabeth Spann Craig , enjoyable. I will read more books of hers in the future.I liked the older lady amauter slueth, she was quite funny at times. A good cozy but I seem to always be wanting much more from my cozies.. I am still looking for one that has it all... Good plot, good characters and twists? Glad I am on Goodreads!! There are some great reviews on here..

Between last night and mid-afternoon Saturday I read Shakespeare's Landlord by Charlaine Harris. Loved it! And immediately wanted to read book two of the series. But do I have book two on my shelf? Nope...I have book three. Augh! I see a trip to Barnes & noble coming up...

Shannon (dolphinlover) | 290 comments I have finished The Diva Takes the Cake (A Domestic Diva Mystery, #2) by Krista Davis this was another very good book. This series is so good I cant wait till I get the next one. I enjoyed this second book more than the first but they were both great.
