I don't care for books that make me cry either, usually. But I can think of 3 exceptions to that.
Spider Web by Earlene Fowler,
Widow's Tears by Susan Wittig Albert and
Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater.

Just finished
. It was kind of different for a cozy and I did enjoy it, but I thought it possibly violates the rules of cozies. I started a new thread about that thought.
Just finished
and liked it. Have been reading this series out of order as I can't find them all at my library.
Just finished The Christmas Cookie Killer
Easy reading and fun a la Murder, She Wrote and Miss Marple.
I just finished Iced Chiffon by Duffy Brown. I loved it & can't wait until the 2nd book comes out in May.

Melodie! talk about a blond moment! it IS may isn't it lol Let me know how you like it! I'll have to order it next time I'm on Amazon
Just finished A Death in Gascony. I really enjoyed it, but then Athos is one of my all-time favourite characters.
Just finished
. For me it was definitely a 5-star cozy, but there was a sense of unfulfillment at the end. But I feel confident that the author is simply delaying the happily-ever-after so that it will be all the more satisfying when it happens.

I just finished Truly, Madly and oh my gawd, really. It was everything you ladies promised and then some. Wow, what a book! I am so reading the rest of these. Thanks again to you enablers.

::huge grin:: Brilliant isn't it? I love this series and I hope she's going to continue with it.
On a related but completely separate note, I've been meaning to ask you Bandmama - have you read the Charlie Davidson series by Darynda Jones? I've been thinking you might like it and have meaning to suggest it (not cozy - paranormal/humor/mystery/romance).
Just finished Ocean Waves. Meh. 2.5 stars. If someone had told me about the Mountain Lion I would have just skipped this book altogether. Totally ruined for me what was a mediocre book at best.
❂ Jennifer wrote: "Just finished Ocean Waves. Meh. 2.5 stars. If someone had told me about the Mountain Lion I would have just skipped this book altogether. Totally ruined for me what was a mediocre book at best."Agreed. I didn't like this one either. And I HATE when animals get killed. Made this one decidedly "uncozy" for me.

Always happy to add to your book piles!! LOL
Finished up
and didn't like it as much as the others in the series. I know it's a culinary cozy, but it read like a cookbook and travel guide rather than a mystery.

Yay!!
❂ Jennifer wrote: "Bandmama wrote: "I just finished Truly, Madly and oh my gawd, really. It was everything you ladies promised and then some. Wow, what a book! I am so reading the rest of these. Thanks again to yo..."Jennifer not Bandmama but I read the first one but never read anymore.
❂ Jennifer wrote: "On a related but completely separate note, I've been meaning to ask you Bandmama - have you read the Charlie Davidson series by Darynda Jones? ..."Jennifer, I read the first of these awhile back and liked it, but didn't love it. Have the 2nd one (I got an ARC somewhere) and the 3rd one, too, I think, around here. Think I'll pull the 2nd one out this month sometime and see if I can get to it with all the good new ones arriving today & tomorrow!
FYI bandmama I liked the first 5 or 6 Queen Betsy books, which are also paranormal Undead and Unwed
and recommend them if you haven't read them! I quit that series though because it got a little too over the top for me. I am not really a paranormal fan in general but I also enjoyed the Fever series and the Kate Daniels series.
Heidi (awesome group member) wrote: "FYI bandmama I liked the first 5 or 6 Queen Betsy books, which are also paranormal Undead and Unwed

Do you read the Sookie Stackhouse books, Bandmama??? The last one arrives at my house tomorrow and I figure on hunkering down with it, even though I know it's not going to end the way I want it to!
❂ Jennifer wrote: "Bandmama wrote: "I just finished Truly, Madly and oh my gawd, really. It was everything you ladies promised and then some. Wow, what a book! I am so reading the rest of these. Thanks again to yo..."Such A Wonderful Lucy Valentine Series...So much Happens in The Series.. @Heather Webber Knows What her Readers Want...Heather Blake Has Her New Series Under Above Name...
Another Great Series...Could read About Lucy Valentine and her "Entourage" for a long Time..Enjoy....
Melodie wrote: "Heidi (awesome group member) wrote: "FYI bandmama I liked the first 5 or 6 Queen Betsy books, which are also paranormal Undead and Unwed

Melodie and Heidi - If you choose to read the second, etc. of the Charlie Davidson series, I'll be eager to hear your thoughts. I just love this series - I think for the dialogue most of all.
❂ Jennifer wrote: "Bandmama wrote: "I just finished Truly, Madly and oh my gawd, really. It was everything you ladies promised and then some. Wow, what a book! I am so reading the rest of these. I'm just so tickled to meet up with such an amazing group of ladies who like to read as much (ok maybe even more) than I do.

I highly recommend the Kate Daniels series if you like paranormal.

I made it through one book, but couldn't continue on.
Bandmama - the Charlie Davidson books are totally different - VERY humorous. :)
Jennifer my library has the Charlie Davidson books on audio so I will listen to book two and let you know my thoughts :) I didn't dislike book one - it was just not memorable to me.
Heidi (awesome group member) wrote: "Jennifer my library has the Charlie Davidson books on audio so I will listen to book two and let you know my thoughts :) I didn't dislike book one - it was just not memorable to me."I listened to the audio of the first one, but couldn't get into it because the narrator is the same as the Janet Evanovich books, so I kept 'hearing' Stephanie Plum instead of Charlie. Very confusing. :P
Oh I have listened to that narrator on other books and I know what you mean but I think I will be ok - if I read it in print it will take me too long to get to.
Lol you guys. The brother and sister in Grave Sight are just brother and sister - not anything, um, naughty brother and sister. I only read the first few though before I got side-tracked with the the Coffee House and Tea Garden series. See I'm not all paranormal. And sometimes I even read about puppies and kittens too - magic kittens wink wink :).

I can recommend a few more non-paranormal series too - they're actually even cozy and belong in this thread! LOL, but I'll try to string them out over time. :)
Magic kittens, you say???
Well I love kittens bandmama! I actually love a lot of paranormal cozies - it is strange because paranormal is one of my least favorite genres but there is something about when they are mixed with mysteries that really makes a lot of them shine.
I just finished Veiled Revenge: A Crime of Fashion MysteryEllen Byerrum
I really enjoy this series, with fun wild characters, and some out there stuff, they are a great read
