What Cozy Did You Just Finish Reading??? (Archive)

I agree. I am sure she has her reasons but (view spoiler) ["br"]>["br"]>

I still love Jenn M. Jennifer and love her writing style I just wish she wouldn't have left this thing so wide open until the next book! I hate cliff hangers!

I just bought the second in this series, but have not started it yet. I really enjoyed the first one!

I agree with you, Heidi. (view spoiler) ["br"]>["br"]>

I agree and I hate cliffhangers as well. I'm annoyed with her for messing with a good thing - it felt like she or her editor panicked and felt the need to go the cliche'd route. BUT.... it feels like it will be short-lived, or at least comments made throughout the book make me feel like it will be.

Also just finished

I liked that one, but not the 2nd one!

I didn't realize the second one was available!

I know! I am so attached to all the characters in that series!

Another of the Lavene's series, the Missing Pieces Mysteries, are also really good. I read the last two, A Spirited Gift and A Haunting Dream back to back. They were great. The next one comes out Oct 1 and I hate that I have to wait 6 months to read it.

groan... another series I cannot miss??? I better live to be 90!

I did like the interaction with the magazine people and I really wonder how Olivia has time to run her own bakery when she spends so much of it obsessing over what Mel and Angie do.["br"]>["br"]>

It had been years since I read these and didn't remember that the first two books in the series are not told from Jacqueline's point of view--interesting way to tell the story. I think I enjoyed the first one the most.
Looked for the next in the series, Naked Once More, but it's not on Kindle. Must check my local library...

Agreed on all points!

I hesitated reading it for some time because "a female pool shark" but found that really she is a 52 year old romance writer who plays pool for fun and is "damn good at both".

Oh good! I have this & was thinking it might be my 'P' book for Read the Season.

I have to read this one too. You are ahead of me on the freebie reads Bandmama!

Ok I can totally see where you are coming from. There was a ton of magic in this one and it had several eye rolling moments for me.

Yep - the bit with her mom, etc. etc. was a bit of the mystery reservation....

It's good. I really enjoyed it. Heidi you'll like it too and I'm only ahead in the free reads because remember when I took time off before starting my new job . . . . it was worth every penny I'm having to budget out right now but I'm waiting on the 1st of the month paycheck :). Lucy

Thanks for the review. This one keeps popping up in my recommendations. I'll give it a try.

I'm reading it now, Heidi, and know what you mean! Why did she do that? She's a good enough writer that she doesn't need this way too overused and worn out gimmick.
