What Cozy Did You Just Finish Reading??? (Archive)

Nope! I liked the first one, but this one just seemed to drag on and on. And why does she make the food sound so nasty?? I've had some really good "good-for-you" food!

I used to sign things with my initials (for Mary Ellen Hughes). I stopped :-)
Just finished
. I didn't dislike it as much as Melodie :)...but, it has gotten really hard to read this series and not be annoyed by the "unrealistic" love triangle. But, the story wasn't too bad.
Cozy fans, FYI, this is the last week to enter the GR giveaway for A Ghost To Die For,(Shannon Delaney series) open to USA, Canada, GB and Ireland, here's a link:http://www.goodreads.com/giveaway/sho...
Just finished
! It wasn't as great as the first (which was sooo good!) but I still really liked it. Before that I read
and LOVED it!
Just finished Her Royal Spyness by Rhys Bowen. So many people were including her in their lists of favorites that I had to try her out. I loved it; felt fully immersed in the 1930's. Just started the latest Cackleberry Club mystery by Laura Childs. It keeps making me hungry.
I just finished
which I loved. Great characters and great love story, in my opinion. I also just finished
. This was a new series for me and I really enjoyed it! I love the main character! Looking forward to reading more in that series.

I'm answering this as an author who has giveaways here on GR. I always send the winner their book via USPS Tracking, that way I can prove I sent the book (my only obligation) and prove it was delivered. In a case that the book was delivered (by USPS) to the wrong address, (should add, this happened only once) then, the addressed recipient (the winner) can at least follow through with a claim at their local USPS post office. With the USPS, when a book is sent and then not received, it is on the recipient's end that a claim must be made. My suggestion, see if the book was sent to you with proof it was sent, then follow through from there. For ex.: I always scan the image of the USPS Tracking receipt and have it on hand in case there is ever a question. www.ElizabethEaganCox.netRebecca wrote: "❂ Jennifer wrote: "Rebecca wrote: "I do have a question... i won a first reads giveaway book back in Dec but never recieved it. Just finished Stake & Eggs by Laura Childs, a Cackleberry Club mystery. The chase at the end would look great on film (or is that digitized or something now?).

Rebecca - If you go to GR giveaways, you can click on giveaways entered then giveaway details for the book you won and check the box reporting that you did not receive the book. I also recommend emailing the person who listed the book (that may not be the author). I had this happen once with a subcontractor of the publisher. Several winners had not received the book. We did receive them eventually.
❂ Jennifer wrote: "Just finished End Me a Tenor. Excellent read!"Got that one coming up soon. You should try her Rebecca Robbins books. I really liked them! I've also got an ARC of her YA dystopian that's coming out in June.
I finished reading
and I liked it enough to read the next book. Even though I figured out the murderer's identity a little before the end of the book, I enjoyed the New England atmosphere and the characters, especially Jack, Lucky's grandfather.
Melodie wrote: "Finished
. Love this series and this one didn't disappoint!"Interesting. There's a new author for this series starting with this entry. Laura DiSilverio wrote the first three; Joanna Campbell Slan wrote this one and is continuing the series. Some reviewers say the characters are presented differently in this one. Most liked it about midway through.

Hmmmm...didn't know that! There were definitely some differences, but I liked it. I've felt like someone else is writing the Savannah Reid books. G.A. McKevett is still shown as the author, but the whole voice of the books has been totally off. So much so that I don't even intend to read the new one that just came out.
Finished Murder With Puffins by Donna Andrews last night. Guess whodunnit early on, though not "how" it was done. Will have to watch the library book sale and Half Price Books for books three.

Wow. Thanks Nell..I wasn't aware of this either!

Didn't know this either until I just read Melodie's review again. But it makes sense - I liked the first three books, but never loved them. I put Wave Goodbye down thinking "wow! that's a great read! Although I have to admit I didn't start the book thinking that - I actually really disliked the first part of the book where she was just so mopey and pathetic. But the scene where she gets the parakeet - oh my, I laughed until I had tears in my eyes, and it got loads better from there.
Just finished
. Ellie is a doormat and her daughter is atrocious. I'm hopeful she'll eventually get a backbone.
Just finished
A Deadly Grind Who I figured out to be the killer was the wrong person but I wasn't the only one who got it wrong:)
I just finished Six Years. I'm new to Hostess and this group. I'm from Knoxville, TN and love to read edge of your seat thrillers. I have my favorite authors that I collect in hard cover and am always looking fire new favorite authors. I love Tess Gerrittsen, Kay Hooper, Greg Ikea, Dean Koontz, Lisa Jackson, and probably most of all Harlan Coben. Thank you for letting me join your group. My husband doesn't read so I think it'll be nice to discuss some of my reads.

I think his standalones have gotten a bit formulaic and much prefer his Myron Bolitar books. Do you read Robert Crais? When it comes to thriller and hardboiled type books, he's probably my favorite. What cozy mystery authors do you like, Kimberly?
I finished That Old Flame of Mine last night. A first in a new mystery series so you never know what you're going to get. But I really liked it! Excellent mystery and the ghost! Oh my! Can't wait for the next one.
I just finished Going, Going, Ganache
and need to speak to someone else who has read it about this potential new love triangle. Ugh!
Heidi (trust me) wrote: "I just finished Going, Going, Ganache

I hate love triangles in cozies!!!!! It was probably next in my plans to read, but a love triangle will shove it down the TBR list.
Sorry Diane! I am kind of sad about it myself. I love the series though so still recommend the book. I just need to vent with someone :)
