Zoe (bookwormfromathens) | 712 comments I've just finished Clobbered by Camembert (A Cheese Shop Mystery #3) by Avery Aames and I really liked it.

message 5202: by Suzy (new)

Suzy Taylor | 5 comments I just finished "The Companion", by Carolann Hays. It was a page turner to say the least. There was humor, suspense, and I really got into the characters. I'd recommend that book to anyone.

❂ Murder by Death (murderbydeath) Biblophile wrote: "Just finished The Big Kitty by Claire Donally which was okay. I'm not a big fan of stories where animals play a part, especially when it's from their point of view. Ended skipping over the cat's..."

I didn't even finish this one. I love cats, but I'm not a fan *at all* of books where the animals talk.

❂ Murder by Death (murderbydeath) Finished Nightshade on Elm Street yesterday. Must have been the mood I was in, but I found it just so-so.

message 5205: by Susie (new)

Susie Fevella (susieinks) | 821 comments Just finished Ink, Red, Dead by Joanna Campbell Slan . It started out OK, but had a rather abrupt ending.

message 5206: by Kate (new)

Kate (kate28) | 141 comments Just finished Buried in a Book (A Novel Idea Mystery, #1) by Lucy Arlington and Reap What You Sew (A Southern Sewing Circle, #6) by Elizabeth Lynn Casey . Both were great!

❂ Murder by Death (murderbydeath) Just finished Killer Librarian. Excellent read! Highly recommend it.

message 5208: by Barb (new)

Barb | 1192 comments Finished Nowhere to Run last night, and liked it a lot, although this confirms my need to read a series in order. I listened to book #9 in this series several months ago -- our library was withdrawing audiobooks that hadn't circulated well, and I snagged that one. The book I just finished reading is #6 in the series -- and between the two books, there's a *major difference in the personal life of one of the main characters! Now I need to read books 7 and 8 to see what happened and why!

message 5209: by Melodie (new)

Melodie (melodieco) | 5280 comments Finished Arsenic and Old Cake by Jacklyn Brady . I know there are mixed opinions on this series, but I've enjoyed all of them!

message 5210: by Susan (new)

Susan Just finished two cozies: Footsteps in the Dark and And Then You Dye. I thought Footsteps was a lot of fun although the characters could be a little silly at times. I was disappointed in the Monica Ferris book as I thought the writing was a little uneven. I keep reading this series because I like her descriptions of Crewel World, the needlework shop.

message 5211: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 797 comments Finished No Way To Kill a Lady. I was glad to see another book in this series and hope there are more.

message 5212: by Danielle (new)

Danielle (dizzy_booknerd) | 121 comments I just finished Powdered Peril (Donut Shop Mystery, #8) by Jessica Beck . I really enjoyed it. It was the first book I've read from the Donut Shop series and plan to read more!

Melodie (melodieco) | 5280 comments Melissa wrote: "Finished No Way To Kill a Lady. I was glad to see another book in this series and hope there are more."

There's another coming late this spring, I believe. I have it on order, but forget the release date.

message 5214: by Melodie (new)

Melodie (melodieco) | 5280 comments Finished Thread on Arrival (An Embroidery Mystery, #5) by Amanda Lee . Not loving this series as much as I did. But at least the "triangle" is settled!

Thanks, I didn't know. I just looked it up and it gave August 6th as release date.

So it's not just me! I've found myself thinking about dropping it - it just isn't keeping my attention the way the first couple of books did...

❂ Murder by Death (murderbydeath) I just finished Buffalo West Wing last night and it's my favorite of the series so far! (view spoiler)

message 5218: by Heidi (new)

Heidi | 2446 comments ❂ Jennifer wrote: "I just finished Buffalo West Wing last night and it's my favorite of the series so far! [spoilers removed]"

Ohhh yay! I have that on tap to read next (another one of my series with 3 or less books left for me to get caught up -- my 2013 goal). I just got it from the library this weekend.

❂ Murder by Death (murderbydeath) Wellll, I just tore through the next one too - Affairs of Steak. Ms Hyzy has found her sweet spot, I think. Another excellent read - I couldn't put it down towards the end!

❂ Murder by Death (murderbydeath) LOL - I couldn't wait - I had to see what happened next and just devoured Fonduing Fathers (thank heavens DH had plans to play soccer tonight!). This series has become a serious favorite over the last three books and this one was just excellent!

Zimbellina | 4 comments I just finished Due or Die which I enjoyed. This is the second in the series but I hadn't read the first so I'll have to go back. Very entertaining read.

I'm about 1/2 way through this one and definitely think it's the best in the series, so far. It gets better with each book.

It's definitely a cozy. I planned to get to that one over the holidays, but didn't. Will probably get it read soon.

message 5231: by Zoe (new)

Zoe (bookwormfromathens) | 712 comments I finished Death, Taxes, and a French Manicure (Death and Taxes #1) by Diane Kelly and I had a blast reading it! Tara was quite a character and I intend to read more about her in the next books in the series!

You won't regret it! Believe me, I have LOTS of cozies waiting to be read! I'm running out of bookshelf space!

I like this series a lot, Heidi. Think it tends maybe a bit more toward "chick lit", but the stories are always good and the heroine is an interesting gal.

Go on... you know you wanna... ;)

Seriously, it's a really fun series, and it's getting better as it goes too.

message 5236: by Heidi (new)

Heidi | 2446 comments Ok ladies! You talked me into it. No wonder I am only the 3rd books in half of my series. :)

Finished Murder by the Glass before bed last night. Love how fast the books in this series read.

❂ Murder by Death (murderbydeath) Finished Murder on the House this morning. Fun read!

message 5239: by Barb (new)

Barb | 1192 comments I *just finished Crocodile on the Sandbank. I wasn't too keen on it at first, but the story -- and the characters -- grew on me as the book progressed. I've added #2 in the series to my TBR :)

Not sure what's up next, I'll have to look at the list of library due dates to figure that out.

message 5240: by Joanne (new)

Joanne | 45 comments I just finished If Walls Could Talk (A Haunted Home Renovation Mystery #1) by Juliet Blackwell and liked it. Nice, light read and I enjoyed visualizing the old homes, as we lived in the Bay Area for several years.

That one was too slow for me. I haven't read anymore so if they are better let me know.

message 5242: by Susie (new)

Susie Fevella (susieinks) | 821 comments I just finished Wall-to-Wall Dead (A Do-It-Yourself Mystery, #6) by Jennie Bentley . It was OK, I think I would enjoy this series more if I liked the main character better.

It will probably be awhile before I get to book #2, but I'll do my best to remember to report back when I do read it :)

message 5246: by Betty (new)

Betty McMahon (bettymcm) I just finished Bats and Bones, a Frannie Shoemaker Campground series book. You can read my review on Goodreads and Amazon. It was a fun book and I recommend it.

message 5247: by Leslie (new)

Leslie Well, this had a bit more violence than the typical cozy, but an excellent book just the same - Devil in a Blue Dress, Devil in a Blue Dress A Novel by Walter Mosley

message 5250: by Inkedreader (new)

Inkedreader (tattooedmommy) | 7 comments I recently finished Who do, Voodoo? by Rochelle Stabb. Its the first in the mind for murder mystery series. It was a pretty good read, however, it didn't hold my interest like many of the other cozies I've read. i plan on continuing with the series unless something major makes the series go downhill. Im currently reading latte trouble by cleo coyle.I really enjoy this series!
