I finished
last night, and I'm on the fence as to whether to read the next one. I got kind of turned off by the heroine's apparent readiness to hop into bed with a guy she just met and that she suspects ransacked her apartment. I'm not a prude, but REALLY?

I finished The Twelve Clues of Christmas. I think it's the best one in the series! Excellent plot! (I guessed the bad guy pretty quick, but it didn't detract at all from the story) I thought the premise was clever and unique and I just love the characters. This series just gets better with each book.
I just finished reading Santa Cruise which was a very fast read. It had alot of humor even though some of the situations were impossible.

Hi Anne! I read that one last year and agree with you. It was a cute, sometimes humorous story, but some of the situations were completely implausible.

A couple of days of welcome, but crappy, weather here so I breezed through North By Northanger: Or The Shades of Pemberley yesterday. Probably my favorite of the three I've read so far.

Whipped through Book, Line and Sinker yesterday. Great book! The very end felt tacked on and I didn't like it, but the rest of it was excellent!
I just finished
, a Christmas-themed Hamish MacBeth mystery, and I found that I enjoyed it tremendously even though it is not truly a mystery in the traditional sense.
Finished
and found it just barely okay. Didn't hold my interest for more than a few minutes at a time and I never cared about the main character one way or the other.
Liora wrote: "I just finished

Just finished
. I enjoyed it but it was way too easy to figure out the killer-I was trying hard not and still did half-way through the story.
Just finished A Sinister Sense by Allison Kingsley. Meh! I thought the first one in the series was okay but this one was just plain silly. Why, oh why, do authors have their main characters do such stupid things? The ending was ludicrous. Not going to bother with the next one.
I finished
(Sister Mary Helen #2) by Sister Carol Anne O'Marie, and I thought it was very good. I plan to read more in the series.
I finished
today. I thought it was mediocre. In my opinion, this series has become too formulaic; the killer's motive was weak and didn't convince me. I'll read the next one, though.
I just finished The Llama of Death: A Gunn Zoo Mystery
. I believe this one is scheduled for release in early Janurary. Animal lovers will love this one.
I just finished a couple this week and enjoyed the down-time with them all. From Miranda James:
and
by Cleo Coyle
I just finished
and
. I enjoyed A Plain Death as it featured the Amish and many places near where I lived.
I just finished Dogs Don't Lie: A Pru Marlowe Pet Noir. I'd have to say I don't think it's really cozy--more general paranormal mystery. There are some themes in here that kind of moved it to much more serious for me than I normally associate with cozies (the life of a dog is at stake and we get to know the dog so that was kind of more of an edge than I really want in a cozy read.)It was an okay read. Very slow and repetitious second half.
Liora wrote: "I finished

Liora wrote: "I finished

I just finished this historical mystery and am now on the next book in this charming series.WHERE SERPENTS SLEEP by C.S. Harris Viscount Devlin has a devil of a time when Hero Jarvis, Lord Jarvis’s daughter, asks for his help in solving a dastardly crime. Someone has murdered the inhabitants of a house of refuge for the city’s prostitutes and then burned it to the ground. However, Hero was a witness and knows the killers were after one woman in particular who appeared to be gently bred. Who was she and how did she end up in this sordid life? Together they follow a trail of deception, incest, and intrigue, while tripping over multiplying bodies. But more frightening than the political angle emerging from the morass is the personal turn their relationship takes, one that both must deny. And it’s to see where this is going that compels me to reach for the sequel (What Remains of Heaven) to see what happens next.
Just read "Christmas Cookie Murder"
and really enjoyed it! Totally didn't see the ending coming. I plan to read more of the Lucy Stone mysteries!
Biblophile wrote: "Just finished
, second in the series. I liked it."My buddy April read the first in that series. I don't think I could read the first so I'll probably not make it to the second. I guess if I do, I'll just start with book 2. Sounds like it kind of finishes the first from what I've seen in the reviews.
Dizzy wrote: "Just read "Christmas Cookie Murder"

Yes, Maria, Drool Baby, sort of takes up and continues on with what happened in the first book. You could read it and still not be too lost with not reading the first one.Just finished
. I really liked this one. Kept me guessing.
I finished
A Hoe Lot of Trouble last night and liked it so much that I immediately checked my library system's catalog for the next book in the series. When I saw that it's not available, I hunted down a used copy and ordered that instead :)
I just finished
and it was amazing! It had a smart plot, interesting characters and I loved Dorothy Parker's wit! I'll start the second book in the series very soon!

That's good to hear, Susie, thanks! I don't usually read an entire book in a day, even a cozy like this. When I *do, that's usually an indication that I'm going to like the series :)
I recently finished reading Learning to Swim
by Sara J. Henry, which won the Best First Novel Agatha Award for 2011. It was a great read and really deserved the award!
I just finished
and really didn't much care for it. I'll probably give one more in the series a try till I give it up.
I finished
but the mystery itself wasn't the best part of the story. I enjoyed Bluebeard's antics more and I' m curious about what really happened to Uncle Louis. That's why I'll read the next book in the series.
Biblophile wrote: "I just finished

I read this one not too long ago. I liked it, but I'm not sure I would have technically put it in the cozy genre. It would probably fit more into the historical mystery category. I could go either way depending on a person's point of view.

Kate, I can't really put my finger on what I didn't like. I think it was just the writing style itself. The characters engaged you. Maybe it was the storyline. I found it rather boring and overly long.
Julie, I guess it is a historical mystery. A historical cozy, perhaps? :)
