What Cozy Did You Just Finish Reading??? (Archive)

Thank God! This series is just too good to stop at 4!

I love Chloe, I want to be her friend.

***SPOILER ALERT***
For the life of me, I cannot remember who Beverly Thorndike is. Kind of defeats the purpose of the cliffhanger ending when I can't remember who she is! Someone refresh my memory please!

She's Norman's EX fiance. She was mentioned in one of the previous books but I don't remember the why's and wherefore's of the relationship/break-up.

Hi Heidi,
I really didn't care for the book either. I thought the whole thing was kinda silly and sappy. I doubt I'll give the others in the series a try. I just didn't care about the characters well enough to endure any more.

I'm glad you liked this more than I did. After 3 of them, I'm done!

I guess I will give it a try then. Hope I enjoy it too! The first book was a really good one to me so you might try that one too.

Not a very complicated mystery this time, but still a very cozy read.

Years ago I read Aunt Dimity's Death and didn't care much for it, but then at some point I read one of the subsequent ones and loved it. I've now read them all and, in fact, buy them in hard copy when they're released. The first one is important to give you the background info you need but the others are really good, and her writing just keeps getting better.

The next one, THE DIVA COOKS A GOOSE, comes out in December! I'm looking forward to it, too!

I have this book on the way and I can't wait to read it. I also love the characters!

Good to know. Thanks, Melodie. :-)

Thanks Melodie! I think I need to add this one to the Wish List ;)

Heidi: I know what you mean, I never seem to be reading what everyone else is reading. I guess I "march to my own drummer"!
I just finished If Books Could Kill. I hate to say this but it was "just okay". I loved book one in the series and in general bibliomysteries are my absolute favorites but this second book just didn't engage me like Homicide In Hardcover did. I gave it a 2 Star--bummer!

I really liked IF BOOKS COULD KILL. The setting grabbed me up right away.
Well, I have "Town in a Blueberry Jam" in my TBR (and my reader), so perhaps I'll reach it in a couple of months... or not, according to the new books in these months.

Glad to see some good reviews of this book. I should be getting it any day now and I'm looking forward to starting it. Looking forward to the recipes too - I've been craving blueberries like crazy during this pregnancy :)

Town in a Blueberry Jam is on my TBR-list, too.
Congratulations and good luck with the addition to your family. :-)

The next one, Path of the Wicked is due to be published later this month. Happy Reading! :-)

When is your little one due?

Our little "panda" is due July 31st!!!

Thank you for the congrats and for the info. I'll add book 2 to my list!

I read this and didn't like it. I thought the lead character was just too clueless. But I do have the 2nd in The Pile. Thought I'd give it another shot and see if it was better than the first one.

what bothered me most was no one wanted to actually help her figure things out. I'll admit, I'm not sure I'd believe that I was investigating for dead people

Holiday Grind is really good! Enjoy.

Thanks for the congrats everyone. We are very excited!!!
Started Holiday Grind yesterday and I don't want to put it down. The story already has me sucked in! I don't even like coffee, but I love this series :)

wow then this is a great book for you.Interesting yummy sounding recipes in this one to do with blueberries here. Congrats on your pregnancy!

Another cozy but also quite thought-provoking read as a lot of the scrapbooking information revolves around New Orleans and the tragedy of Hurricane Katrina.

I enjoy paper crafting, but not really into the scrapbook stuff. However, I enjoy this series. The characters are great. I need to figure out where I left off and pick it back up again! Thanks for the reminder!

Darn! I didn't realize that this was the last in the series. Without giving away the ending, I can still see so much potential for further wackiness. 9sigh) I guess all we can hope for is that the upcoming movie is such a success that we'll eventually see a Return of the.....
