Darn! I didn't realize that this was the last in the series. Without giving away the ending, I can still see so much potential for further wackiness. 9sigh) I guess all we can hope for is that the upcoming movie is such a success that we'll eventually see a Return of the.....

Victoria (closer2coma86) I just finished Apple Turnover Murder by Joanne Fluke. I liked it, although it was definately not her best. I just have one question for all of you that have read it....

***SPOILER ALERT***

For the life of me, I cannot remember who Beverly Thorndike is. Kind of defeats the purpose of the cliffhanger ending when I can't remember who she is! Someone refresh my memory please!

She's Norman's EX fiance. She was mentioned in one of the previous books but I don't remember the why's and wherefore's of the relationship/break-up.

Hi Heidi,

I really didn't care for the book either. I thought the whole thing was kinda silly and sappy. I doubt I'll give the others in the series a try. I just didn't care about the characters well enough to endure any more.

Finished Plaster and Poison before bed last night. Loved the ending!

message 465: by Nicola (new)

Nicola (murder-she-read) | 18 comments I've just finished re-reading Cat in a Diamond Dazzle by Carole Nelson Douglas. I recently had the awful experience of clearing my 'to read' pile, so I am trying to eek out my new 'to reads' (and give my credit card some breathing room!) by working through the Midnight Louie series. I really enjoy these books, there are enough characters for the Agatha Christie effect and always enough twists to keep you on your toes! Now, what to read next!

Kimberly (kimberly75149) | 24 comments I just finished the first in a new series for me Murder 101 (A Murder 101 Mystery, #1) by Maggie Barbieri . I've started the second in the series, Extracurricular Activities (A Murder 101 Mystery, #2) by Maggie Barbieri . I thought the first was very slow moving, but the second is better, so far. The premise is a Professor of English Lit at a small Catholic college in NY whose life is turned upside down by murders in her vicinity. She is attracted to the lead detective, but they have roadblocks. I have the third in my TBR pile, so I'll reserve final judgement until I finish it.

Years ago I read Aunt Dimity's Death and didn't care much for it, but then at some point I read one of the subsequent ones and loved it. I've now read them all and, in fact, buy them in hard copy when they're released. The first one is important to give you the background info you need but the others are really good, and her writing just keeps getting better.

Shannon (dolphinlover) | 290 comments I just finished Town in a Blueberry Jam (A Candy Holliday Murder Mystery, #1) by B.B. Haywood I really liked it. It seemed a little bit slow in the beginning but it picked up and went full speed ahead. Likable characters and an enjoyable setting too. Nice and cozy read with blueberry based recipes. I was clueless as to whom the killer was till the end. Looking forward to the next book in the series -Town In A Lobster Stew.

I just finished If Books Could Kill. I hate to say this but it was "just okay". I loved book one in the series and in general bibliomysteries are my absolute favorites but this second book just didn't engage me like Homicide In Hardcover did. I gave it a 2 Star--bummer!

I read this and didn't like it. I thought the lead character was just too clueless. But I do have the 2nd in The Pile. Thought I'd give it another shot and see if it was better than the first one.

alicia grant (shesha556) I finished Plum Pudding Murder (A Hannah Swensen Mystery, #12) by Joanne Fluke and I have to say I know I get annoyed with the love triangle but I do really enjoy reading about the town and the characters. It's like catching up with old friends. I also really enjoy the recipes as well.

I enjoy paper crafting, but not really into the scrapbook stuff. However, I enjoy this series. The characters are great. I need to figure out where I left off and pick it back up again! Thanks for the reminder!
