I'm listening to After the Goldrush by Neil Young. It has to be one of the great albums, That includes Southern Man, even if Lynyrd Skynyrd disagreed so much they wrote Sweet Home Alabama in protest.

On my Uke it would be House of The Rising Sun (original lyrics) and on my stereo it would be Barclay James Harvest, Everyone Is Everybody Else

Saw them live at Weeley, playing with the London Philharmonic Orchestra. Great with the big oil lamp screens either side of the stage. The crowd was so wowed they didn't want T Rex with Marc Bolan to start - we soon got over it.

I'm not absolutely certain but I think I've gt a Weeley DVD lurking somewhere. I'll see if I'm right and let you know.

Every few weeks a bunch of us get together at someone's place for a concert night. We missed the last one (Aerosmith). I think the next one will be The Doors.

'Looking for purple people to eat.'
When Sophie was young, one of our favourite songs was Hunting Tigers out in Indiah by the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band. Must listen to them again. Miss their madness.
I bought their Cornology some years ago. It includes all their albums and a CD of "dog ends" called Dog Ends. A wonderful collection.

Sorry Trevor, when I blew the dust off, it turned out to be a Knebworth DVD of a concert I'd been to. I'll start looking around for a Weeley DVD though now that I've got myself excited!
Could be worse - could be the bongos.Just listening to Phil Beer singing that folk classic, 'Pleasant and delightful' - always a popular sing-a-long song at any gathering of folkies.
Patti (baconater) wrote: "Dave frequently inflicts me with the Bonzos."How sensible of him. Do blue men thing the whites?
Jim wrote: "I've one foot on the platformThe other foot on the train

Yes, I thought so
It's one of those tracks which starts provoking unexpected stories and kicks off half formed ideas ;-)
The last one I played was on my CD in the car and was "One-eyed, one-horned, flying, purple people eater" by Sheb Woolley
B J wrote: "I'm playing an old Judy Collins album. The track 'Farewell to Tarwathie' is hauntingly beautiful."Oh I know that album so well! My dad had it when I was a kid and played it often. I inherited it when he moved countries. Then I bought it on CD. Still have it on my laptop now. In fact I've just dug it out and I am listening to it now. Oh the memories...
'Since you asked' , 'Sunny Goodge Street' and 'Suzanne'. I didn't hear any other version until years later. Oh and 'Both Sides Now'.
Just listened to the remastered version of Sgt Pepper on CD. Normally these digitally remastered thingies leave me a little cold. My cloth ears can't usually hear the difference. But this one is different. Apparently the original recordings had focused on the mono version (which was all that most people had). The stereo version (the one we listen to) was rushed and much thinner.
What they have done for the remastered version is to go back to the original master tapes and remix a new stereo version. And I have to say that the difference is striking. It feels much more vivid and detailed - like a whole new record.
With the added bonus of a second CD including Penny Lane and Strawberry Fields forever - both of which were part of the Sgt Pepper project but only released as singles.
Fabulous. I always struggled to see why people rated Pepper over Revolver. Now I think I know.
My second whole-hearted recommendation of the day. I must be getting less grumpy in my old age.

Well, I literally play music in the background as I write so it was 'I Don't believe you' by Pink and now Meatloaf '2 out of 3 ain't bad' :)
So many of our authors talk about listening to music as you write. You lot should really include a playlist with your books.
Haha that it is all safely confined to my laptop with a lot of clearing of the browsing history. Though I will be checking every box I come across marked recipe books now :)
I've been bingeing on Tom Petty the last few days.My neighbours are probably fed up with my singing.
