Someone give him a pair of reading glasses or read that damn letter for him."
I love that album :/

Dave's usual answer to that is 2000 years of culture...

I love you anyway.

Pffft The Nosemanny.Everything about me is suspect.
I'm Simon's alter ego.
How scary is it that I'm the pleasant one?

You speak ill of your fellow countrymen? I thought they put on a good show, despite not connecting much with the crowd. Still, at least they didn't open up with a nutty film about fox hunting.
we need to restore the faith in Canadian rock. Try this for sizehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gkqfp...

I'll confess, if it's permitted, to quite liking Paul Gross singing 32 Down on the Robert MacKenzie:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBEej...
It's prolly the bagpipes and tin whistle that do it. (And much the same could be said for the series.)
George Ezra's (he of recent hit Budapest) debut album "Wanted On Voyage" is rather wonderful, and a welcome antidote to the woeful crop of UK male vocalists of late (Messrs Sheeran and Odell I'm looking at you, the former being laughable voted the most influential man in UK black music by Radio 1xtra). Also been listening to quite a bit of the Manics. Goodness me, The Holy Bible is a tour de force to be reckoned with. Shame they went a bit fluffy for a decade or so afterwards but they seem back on form now.
Yes I was a bit taken aback by Sheeran winning that award.I still remember when the Manics said that like the Who, they would just fade away early into their careers, but they never did.

The latest Liars' album is poor, but it has one stand out track "Pro Anti Anti"https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Akklj...
Patti (baconater) wrote: "I spelled Partin wrong, didn't i?"You spelled Partin correctly, it was Parton you got wrong :-)
Twenty years on and the Manics' "The Holy Bible" remains as brutally exquisite as ever. 4st7lb is perhaps one of the most harrowing songs I've ever listened to. All in all, perfect sunny Sunday afternoon listening in the garden. I'm certain my neighbours approved.
Ah you suggesting that Intense Humming of Evil, a song about the holocaust, isn't perfect Sunday afternoon listening?

That was Kenny Rogers! ;-)
Kris and Dolly have done a few duets in their time, including one in a rather scrappy film I watched on a plane a couple of years ago (can't remember its name). Islands in the Stream with Kenny is probably Dolly's most famous collaboration though.
you're overlooking Silverfish's unofficial collab with Dolly:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RpxFX...
Dave is playing Alexis Korner. Father of the British Blues he sez.Dave sez he told Led Zepplin their music would go down like a lead balloon. Hence their name.
Anyone else know that story?
I'd heard that he'd dissed their chances, but didn't realise that's where they took their name fromYou're Canadian aren't you Patti? My favourite ever name in rock and roll was a member of Canadian punk band who went by the name of Chuck Biscuits
I knew the lead balloon bit, but didn't know who said it. Used to listen to Alexis Korner's show on Radio One, once upon a time

Marcus! You know damn well I'm Canadian. Sheesh.
Do you mean Limp Bizkit? They're 'mercan.
Oops. Missed out a zero. 12943 to be exact.Last one was Davy Graham now Robert Plant and Alison Krause.
13000 now that's more like it. On my old laptop my I-Tunes told me how many songs and how many days of continuous play that represents. But not on my new one. A serious flaw I feel
