Interesting - a bit like a Tom & Jerry soundtrack."
Probably the closest ..."
Wouldn't surprise me if it was used in a cartoon though, the cartoonist were very fond of music like that.

Good stuff. Haven't heard that before.
Father Christmas brought me Arcade Fire's latest album, Reflektor. Not quite as impressive as their first two albums, but a step above their last effort, The Suburbs. Whilst there's nothing that can compete with their greatest songs such as Ocean of Noise, The Well and the Lighthouse and pretty much anything off their debut album, it's still a confident collection of songs with some interesting new musical directions (a particular treat is when Here Comes the Night lurches into reggae).
I've been enjoying a lovely, rather music free holiday.I'm sure Dave will once more be inflicting me once we're back in Baku, though.

Just found a great clip of the band playing the theme from BBC4's excellent nordic noir 'the bridge'. http://itsacrimeuk.wordpress.com/2012...
Was watching an early episode of bones last night and as the opening credits were rolling heavy d from heavy d and the boyz was named,so i had to pause it so i could listen to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNEgUP... definitely one of my top 10 favourite tracks.
This might raise a few eyebrows but the latest Tim Burgess album "Oh No, I love you" is a cracker. I particularly like the single "White". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jTX7x8...
I have been deep in Exile on Main Street by The Rolling Stones the last few days. It's become my music to write to.
Stuart wrote: "I have been deep in Exile on Main Street by The Rolling Stones the last few days. It's become my music to write to."Have you become Torn and Frayed as a consequence of this? Or just Happy?
It all depends on what I'm writing at the time! I must say though that Torn and Frayed is one of my favourites!
I love a bit of Alexisonfire on a Monday morning, No Transitory off the album Watch Out in particular.
George Ezra's gloriously jaunty Cassy-O is getting the most plays on my ghetto blaster of late. His distinctive voice, catchy tunes and witty lyrics are the complete antithesis of the majority of male singer songwriters of late (yes Mr Odell, I'm looking at you). Song of the year so far.
I've been listening to Ed Sheeran's I see Fire on youtube these past couple of days. I must have listened to it about ten times. I love it.
Opeth's Watershed album. Brilliant prog metal. Pink Floyds' "Division Bell" earlier, and going to be checking out the new Fish (from Marillion) album a bit later.

The rest I still think of as a mixed bag, with only High Hopes and Rick Wright's haunting Wearing The Inside Out hitting the highs of their heyday.
I genuinely love the whole album, partially because it was the one of the ones my brother used to play a lot when I was a kid, and I just connect with it. Then again, I think I can't name a bad Floyd album (Final Cut would be one of my least faves though, although I do enjoy sticking it on from time to time). To me the whole album is sublime. I suppose everyone has a different opinion on which is their favourite Floyd though. That's partly how they're so great. Much discussion can be had :)
Was listening to Ed Sheeran both at Simon's place and here with Dave. Why havent I heard of him before?

Mrs E and I had a Valentine's weekend of watching bands. For her it was Foals at Ally Pally. The support acts were mostly dreadful, but there was a fantastic stand selling both local ales as well as Doom Bar and Tribute so that more than made up for it. I don't remember much about Foals' performance but I'm sure they were very good. Last night we ventured up the road to Brum to see London Grammar at the O² academy. The selection of beer on offer was woeful so I remember everything from the night. Brilliant performance from such an irritatingly young and talented band. And boy that girl can sing.
Was mooching on couch last night, browsing my music, realised I didnt have any guns n roses on there. Cd obviously lost over the years. Quick trip to Amazon, £1.99 later I've got Appetite for Destruction keeping me company as I watch Bayern beating Arsenal (volume muted) and reformat my paperback. Some class songs on there, not least Welcome to the jungle, paradise city and of course, that intro on Sweet Child....
My top 5 fave songs, hasn't ever really altered, in no particular order:1: Sympathy for the devil (Stones)
2: I don't like Mondays (Boomtown Rats)
3: The Weight (The Band)
4: Waterloo Sunset (Kinks)
5: Alright Now (Free)
But if I could have 6 songs (and I can) then I'd add Stay With Me by The Faces.
Currently listening to Rodrigo's Concerto de Aranjuez on Spotify - sublime guitar playing.Discovered that Spotify doesn't just cater for spotty hoiks!
I use Sky.fm quite a lot: http://www.sky.fm/I usually listen to Mostly Classical, blues or Motown but there are loads of other genres and styles.

Great choices!
Paolo Nutini's surprisingly brilliant "Caustic Love" mixed with the glorious weather makes for a perfect afternoon. Now just need to get home so I can have a beer and my day will be complete.
I'm mostly listening to musicals. Les Mis is playing just now and I love a bit of Jekyll and Hyde while I'm cooking dinner

Dave and I haven't done a tunes evening in ages. I've been thinking of getting him travel speakers. Would have been good to have when we were in Thailand and for when we're in Greece. I bought him a drum speaker for his iPod a few years back but the sound quality is dreadful.Anyone got any suggestions for good quality, tiny speakers?
