Needle in the Hay by Elliott Smith. Can I write an entire novel while listening to only one song on repeat? Why yes, I think I can.

Oh no Geoff!!!!Not Dory Previn! That is so sad. She was a seriously odd duck but what an amazing voice! And her lyrics!
I'm sad now. :(
Do listen to some of her stuff, Elle. I don't know how many copies of her CDs I've bought over the years. Several. I keep lending them to friends who enjoy it so much I can't bare to take the disk back.
John Martyn- Please Fall in Love With MeDo have a look for it on YouTube if you have a moment. It's a beautiful song.
Adele - 21. Could she start to fill some of the gap left by Amy Winehouse? Her voice has some similar qualities, and I love the fact she writes her own stuff.
Dave's on a roll. Atomic Rooster. Devil's Answer.I like this!
Seems we're on an Atomic Rooster loop!
HELP!!!
Simon (Highwayman) wrote: "That is spooky Chris. Just logged on to say I am listening to 21"Don't panic - I'm not stalking you or anything. My wife bought the CD but I'm hooked already. It's nice to find someone young with real talent (Adele, not my wife, I mean),
Pat (Scorpio) wrote: "Racey Smash & Grab Oh Kitty"Pat, I'm intrigued. Your post sounds like a cryptic crossword clue! Is this a band, or two bands, or the name of a tune. What sort of music? Please educate me!
Racey is the group The album is Smash and Grab and A track is Kitty!http://www.amazon.co.uk/Smash-And-Gra...
Out in the seventies
Now if you'd said 'hey mickey' I'd have known straight away! Is the Racey version the original, I wonder?
I didn't enjoy listening to her voice although there was one song, 'Back to Black', that was the perfect 'Bond' tune in my opinion
Bob Dylan is one of my favourite all time singer/song writers to just listen to. His voice and his lyrics are among the best I've ever heard.
Just seen this.....http://www.amazon.co.uk/Greatest-Ever...
Difficult to resist with free delivery so I didn't
Just got the order acknowledgment and they sent me a £1 mp3 credit as a promotion so http://www.amazon.co.uk/Greatest-Ever...

Thanks, Simon I just bought this. I think as a child of the sixties I find myself irresistibly drawn to the music....
I listened to some Dusty Springfield last night. It had a sort of distinctive sound that seems to be in fashion again with Adele. When I was tiny I sang "The seekers" songs to my mum.

Snapped it up and remembered to go through the group shop
Listening to Love Over Gold by Dire Straits.I remember buying this as a long-playing record and the first side just blew me away - Telegraph Road and Private investigations.
I saw them live at the NEC and they played both tracks amongst many others - wonderful.
Dave has had way too many single malts and is on a Max Boyce kick.Lordy, I hope he starts snoring soon...
