Started the day on the way to work with A Nod and a Wink by Camel. I'm now listening to Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd.

I listened to Wish you Were here yesterday.I don't listen to music at work because I don't like missing what is going on in the office around me. I am a bit of a misery really because I don't approve of people plugging into headphones at work - it means they can't contribute to problem solving etc...
Oh dear I think I'm about to get on my soap box.....

The reason I wear headphones is because if I don't I get dragged into pointless conversations and therefore my productivity declines. I'm happy to stand on your soapbox Simon, but I'll be facing the other way.
Listening to Flowers this morning by the Rolling Stones. Starts with Ruby Tuesday. What a great song.
I cant hear anyone else in my office over the computer screens. Plus one of them mumbles really badly, he never even moves his jaw (which is quite impressive i guess) and he has quite a strong scottish accent and i just cant understand him but from behind all these screens he just sounds like bill and ben with the occasional whistle. Think i'll keep to my music
I wonder what is so special about 461 Ocean Boulevard. Nice neighbours? Even pavements? Really pretty paint job?

Listening to Shine a light by McFly. Not very cool i know, but its catchy and they're not too shabby to look at. Shallow? maybe..... ;)
I am going to listen to Puccini `Tosca` because they are doing it as a live link up at a local cinema next week. So if it`s groovy am heading on down there.

That sounds great. Is that Vue Cinemas?
Listening to Romantica by Luna.I got into Luna when Sophie was about 3 or 4. We went into a Virgin Megastore and she zoomed straight for the headphones and started bopping away to the music, flipping though the choices.
After a while she came over and said "Daddy, can you come and listen to this, I think you'll like it." It was one of their other albums, Pup Tent and she was absolutely spot on. I now have all their albums and a concert tour DVD (Which wasn't very good.).
As they have now split up, I have been following their solo careers as Dean and Britta. If you are into Indy Rock, they are well worth a listen.
Dandy Warhols fab.....love Bohemian Like You.... is that a compilation cd Geoff?Just listened to Sunshine of Your Love by Cream....is that the best guitar riff ever?

It's a live album Ian. Quite good. I was listening to 461 Ocean Boulevard yesterday (see above) and there are some extra tracks on the "extended" version, including live versions his Cream work. I have always loved Eric Clapton's guitar work. He just makes it look so effortless. Fabulous.
Here is the wiki for Luna. My favourite is Pup Tent, but whether that's because it was my first, I'm not sure. If you like the Dandy's, Luna will probably appeal.

And is it?

The Sugarcubes are slightly more pop than Bjork on her own, very good tho`
I went to see Bjork in her first band KUKL in paris about 1984, and even bought her a can of lager !

Yes but lots more instrumental. Bjork. You can't even imagine how hard it was to get predictive text to co-operate with Icelandic.
I just got 30 days free trial for Napster Unlimited by using promotion code UK3STREAM at registration.Worked a treat. It is supposed to be for Philips Streamium but works great on my Marantz.....
Seems a crisper sound than LAST.FM
Great news Simon. I have a feeling that sucker is going to get thoroughly worn out over the next few weeks.
Walk Of Life, by Dire Straits. I have always liked it - it's just basic rock'n'roll really. But when BBC TV played it over the finish to my epic walk, it became my "official" theme tune. When I wrote my book, I got approval from Mark Knopfler's manager to use "Walk Of Life" as the title. Then I realise that if you Google "Walk of Life" you come up with multiple pages about Dire Straits. If you Google "Vic's Big Walk" you come up with pages about my walk and my book.
So guess which title I used? But MK's manager was still kind enough to put a piece on the official Mark Knopfler website and a link to the "book" page of my blog. Like so:

"My" bit has moved down the page a bit now, as more recent news has been added.
Listening to Tales from Topographic Oceans by Yes. I don't believe you can get any more "Progressive Rock" than that. It's good to hear that MK can be so helpful Vic. Rock stars are often painted as money grabbing narcisists. Good to hear of a clear exception.
I remember going to see Dire Straits in ocncert at the NEC. The audience wouldn't let them off stage and demanded more (Brummie audiences are famous for this). The covers were on the instruments and the lights were up and still no one was moving. In the end Mark Knofler came on stage and said we really all needed to go and that we were holding trains up at the local station. He said that he would play one more piece if we promised to go home. He took the cover off the piano and started playing the opening theme to Local Hero, which was soon to be released.
An amazing event.

Hello Geoff. Yes, and it was not just MK's manager giving me the go-ahead. He said he had spoken to Mark, et cetera ...
