Single handedly keeping the standard up Ignite :)

Not sure you will be able to hear a Piano Cencerto over Pattis racket though!

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Especially not over yelling in Igbo! Best I could manage was a swear word or two in Welsh - I learnt that from my first year room-mate at university who used to regale me with such when I woke her with a cold wet flannel for 9.00 a.m. lectures!

Geoff (G. Robbins) (merda constat variat altitudo) (snibborg) | 8204 comments Listened to Hatfield and the North on my way in to work. Listening to Live Groove by Projekct Two. They are a King Crimson experimental group, for anyone that is interested.

message 673: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments I always choose Tubular Bells when I'm forced to sing karaoke. ;)

Geoff (G. Robbins) (merda constat variat altitudo) (snibborg) | 8204 comments LOL Patti. I have to admit that I still get a lot of pleasure from listening to Mike Oldfield, especially his guitar work.

message 678: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments She wore kipper ties? You're better off without her Simon!

Simon (Highwayman) (highwayman) | 4276 comments I had a sports jacket with really wide lapels. I loved that jacket. One day my Mum made it disappear because she was sick of seeing it. I think my sister put her up to it but I never have got to the bottom of the conspiracy
*memo to self - must quiz sister this weekend *

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments When I was at University it became quite the thing to make oneself (the women that is) a long, psychedelic ball-gown and one's feller a matching kipper tie with the offcuts!

No, Elton John - Rocket Man

But up next might be Wichita Lineman since you mentioned Glen Campbell ;-)

Or The Eagles since Simon just put me in the mood.

I can never think about Rocket Man in the same way any more. I watched an interview between Elton john and Graham Norton. They made a phone call to a fan of EJ's in the US who suspends himself in a contraption whilst playing Rocket Man and "enjoying" himself.

The clip is here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7omUkV... if you are interested.

That has got to be the best Eagles song, such clever lyrics and a great tune.

I've always been a fan of Don Henley. One of my favourites of his that was thrown in as a bonus on Building the Perfect Beast was a song called A Month of Sundays, about small farms in America. He is at his best when he has a story to tell, and boy does he tell some great stories. Here is a video of him performing it live http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4Ko3S... . Apologies for the overloaded sound.

Agreed Geoff...probably my favourite Eagles song...although I do have a soft spot for Don Henley signing "Boys of Summer" just when I am in a silly mood....which seems to be tonight :(
