Just finished Julia's Room. I found this to be a gripping account of a day in the life of a 70s Fleet Street journalist. I gave the book five stars on my blog.

Thinking about giving up onDead Until Dark. I know my grammar is atrocious but I am 100% certain that even I could write a better book than her. At least, I would only keep in text that was related to the story and I would not describe a person (living or dead) as having a mashed up face! In her case it was a living person.

Really don't want to give up but I might have to.

Finished Dead Until Dark (finally) it is horribly written (I firmly believe that even I could do better and that is saying something). Not sure if I will ever read any of the others in the series or not. Have started Last Full Measure, I bought it for hubby but it's the most expensive unread book on my kindle so I thought I may as well read it myself and get my money's worth cause he isn't ever going to read it.

Got the next 19 books lined up after this in descending price order.

Now I'm reading Donna Fasano's book which is on sale at the mo, The Single Daddy Club: Derrick, I'm already half way through and enjoying it - it's sweet and soppy.

I finished Last Full Measure, it was surprisingly good although they are going to make me buy the next one to find out if they found the Xindi or not. Not fair. Ah well, £4.99 down £59.70 to go

I've finished reading by Jamie Ford last night. I really loved this book! Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet is a beautiful, fascinating, tender and moving story from beginning to end. Like the title suggests, the story is such a bitter-sweet tale, heartbreaking at times and so warm and sweet in others.All the characters were vivid, well-developed and realistic. I really loved the characters of Henry, Keiko and Sheldon, and really cared about what happened to them. I found it really hard to put this novel down and I look forward to reading more from this author! I gave this novel 5 Stars!

I've finished reading all three of the books in Donna Fasano's Single Daddy Club series - enjoyable light relief.

Now I'm reading Cabal which I've had on my kindle for two years, couldn't get into it when I first started to read it back then - started again from the beginning, and after a slow start for me as I couldn't warm to Zen, it's now turned into a gripping and intriguing story.

I finished Good Tidings I loved it! Think this will become one of my favourite series, I will definitely be buying the rest in the series but I'll have to wait till I've caught up on some of my other paid for books first.

Started Excession which has me a bit confused so far (only read the first chapter) confused in a good way though, I want to know whats going on.

Kafka is the master! No managing to read about it, he sweeps you along like a magic carpet you don't even realise is flying

I finished reading Cabal last night, which was very good and very well written, but I didn't enjoy it much. I never grew to like Zen and I was depressed by all the corruption and dishonesty around - I'm sure it's true to life though!

Feeling a bit rough today so I'm comfort reading, re-reading The Railway Children which I've read several times before - but I love that story, and the film that was made from it. So it's just right to light the woodburner, make a cup of tea, and curl up with!

Hi all,
Just finished The House of Silk: A Sherlock Holmes Novel. I am a bit Conan Doyle fan so I wasn't convinced this wodl be any good but it really is. Horowitz captures very nicely the settings, language and feel of the original books so it doesn't feel like you're reading an interpretation of Holmes. The plot is full of twists but didn't feel contrived to me and the relationship between Holmes and Watson felt just right. Well worth a read.

I've just started And Then There Were Nonewhich is shaping up nicely. You know what you're getting with Christie and this is drawing me in nicely so far.
