Just finished - just started
I finished Ender's Game don't know what to read next now... maybe The Sea of Monsters since I've already started that series.
Just finished His Own Mad Demons: Dark Tales from David A. Riley and Coldbrook. Really enjoyed both of them.
Just finished [book:Are We Nearly There Yet?: A Family's 8000-Mile Car Journey Around Britain|1188078Much more than a travel log.I really enjoyed this books which was an emotional roller coaster.
Last evening I read Alex South's Seven Stories High - a book of short stories that are most unusual and very imaginative - I'll review it in the morning - look out for it on my blog!
Finished proof reading Darren's collection of shorts. Surprisingly few typos. Which makes we wonder how many I missed because I was so engrossed in the stories. As I said before, you're all in for a treat.
I'll shut up now.
Just started reading The Penal Colony. It's on old book that I've not read before. Very well written so far and a very engaging story line with great characterisation.

Oh I read that a while back. Quite enjoyed it. There's a film of it to. I caught a bit of it on tv months back.

Well I've now finished The Impossible Dead thank goodness, v disappointing. Don't think his heart was in it. Anyway, have now got into The Penal Colony (if you see what i mean) and enjoying it so far. So thanks for the reminder, Shaun!
Just read (it's short stories and an excellent way to spend the evening) Beverley Carter's latest - Tales of Strangeness and Harm. Great endings!
I finished The Titan's Curse and started The Battle of the Labyrinth. They are terrible. Was Rick Riordian 15 when he wrote them? I sincerely hope so, for his sake. Still enjoying them though, just wish he would stop using ADHD and dyslexia as an excuse for stuff Percy does, it is not good writing!Ignite, do not even touch these books, or glance at them in a shop, you will probably disintegrate to dust in despair for humanity!
I felt the same way, Jud.And you can't disintegrate, Ignite. I need you.x
I've just finished my first ever Ian Fleming (jimmy Bong) novel - 'Live and Let Die. Very interesting.
I finished The Fifth Victim, really enjoyed it, although a tad predictable in places. Still reading One for the Money, a bit unrealistic in places.
Evening all,Just finished - snoozing on the couch.
I've just started Snowdrops and it's very good. Conversational in style. I've never been to the places described but it feels like I'm there and the character is easy to get a long with. Flows nicely too, certainly won't take long to finish. Also nominated for 2011 Man Booker.

Really enjoyed Snowdrops, Jamie. More armchair travel for me - a good sense of place.
Just finished Howl - Annalise Grey which I found very good. Now I am about to make a start on The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo - Stieg Larsson.
I enjoyed Snowdrops too. It was one of our village book group books.Just read David Wailing's Fifth Season Quite different from his other stuff. It's 2 stories, each told in the voice of a young boy. He's darned good at it too!
Patti (Migrating Coconut) wrote: "Looking at my kindle, I've got nine books on the go. I really need to get stuck in and finish them!"WHAT!!!!
9 books, how do you know what is going on in each of them?
I dunno, Jud. I just find where I left off and keep going. Sometimes I'll go back a few paragraphs. I think I have a pretty good rememberer.
I used to start a few books but never always went back lol.Did that to a few DTB books and MADE myself read and finish the books as well x
Read Have You Seen Her? Okay but didn't like the ending. Also finished The Last Gift although a novel it was written around factual content.
Now reading Time After Time
Thanks Ignite! I got David's book for free after reading your post.
About to start
by Michael Grant (DTB edition). Next eBook will be
by Yann Martel (iBooks edition though, not Kindle) in advance of the movie, which looks *awesome* btw. and next audiobook will be
by Jim Butcher (first book in the Dresden Files series, narrated by James 'Spike' Marsters.I don't often have more than one kindle/iBooks etc book on the go, but I do often have ebook+DTB+audio on the go at the same time.

I misread that, I would like to read books for money, but then realised that was the title...

I finished reading
by Stef Penney this evening. Overall, I thought the novel was an interesting and mostly enjoyable read. There were some problems with it (not surprising in a debut novel), the plot became slow and tedious at times, there were too many characters - it was very hard to keep track of them all - and the author wrote all of her characters in the first person so sometimes it wasn't clear which character was doing the talking! I had to go back and re-read multiple chapters to figure out what was happening in the story, which was very annoying! The ending was very sudden. It came out of nowhere and it left too many storylines unresolved. I was left wondering WHERE is the rest of the story??? My full review is here: http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...
Next I'm going to start
by S.E. Hinton.
D.D. wrote: "Just finished I Am Number Four. I was disapointed, the film was much better!!!"Interesting. I thought the film was pretty poor. Haven't read the book.
