To be exact they started filming last Wednesday (I think, I may have the wrong Wednesday) my cousin helps with the make up!

I bought Black Prism MONTHS ago and I still haven't read it - any good?

They have been setting up for weeks. I think it was before last Wednesday though, maybe the one before? They had their first closure on the Monday of last week.

I'm enjoying Dresden files much more than Game of Thrones, And, I've been told they get better from the third book on.

Although I've also heard numerous rants saying Jim Butcher is a sexist prat, which he most definitely is in real life, but I haven't seen it in the books so far.

I really dislike the way its wrote and its REALLY putting me off. I *really* do not like first person narrative!"
Oh dear, I was hoping you were going to say the book was much better than the film (which I disliked...)
After all the hype I expected better. Hey ho. Off to cross that one of the list then
I've recently finished reading The Spanish Helmet which was quite good but didn't grip me as much as I thought it would - to be fair though, that could be due to distractions as I read it on the coach and in London...
Now I've just started Ghost Fleet, one of the group book reads. I've only read a few pages but am liking the way that it is written so far.

Definitely a genre thing!

It's not really my type of book to start off with so I would only take my opinion with a pinch of salt.
Although tried reading a little more and just *cannot* get into it!!

Definite..."
Now for book 2.

Just started Dirty Old Town and Other Stories Only read one so far but it's got something!

I created a book for it Ignite but still need to add a picture

Just finished Nigel Bird's Dirty Old Town and Other Stories - a book of short stories which I enjoyed very much.
Knocking off over the weekend to pre-read another of Andy Barrett's next trilogy.

Started and finished Strangeness on a Train. A very short read, great if you disike bad manners.
Started and finished A Moment of Wrong Thinking a freebie short by an author new to me but who has been around for a long time. I will look for more of his work.
Started The Bird That Nobody Sees

The first is good but the second you just won't be able to put down!

I finished The Night Circus the other day and have not been able to start anything since. One of those "book hangover" things I think they call it.

Just finished the cutting room by jilliane hoffman, enjoyed it. Not sure what to start next.

All books are in excellent condition
Vince Flynn
American Assassin -

$47 later . . . . . and 90 enjoyable minutes. . . .

Will you review them Pat? I know authors hate asking people to do this (But I'm not scared!)

edit to say it's done

Talking of which - I am making Tollesbury Time Forever Book 1 and The Bird That Nobody Sees Book 2 in a series called FRUGALITY. I have the outline for Book 3 sorted so fun times ahead! (and if a goodreads librarian would be kind enough to add the details to the aforementioned books that would be great!)

Almost finished Barnaby Rudge and loving it!

Have started The Merry Adventures of Robin Hood

Apologies if I've already posted this. I've just finished Telling Stories and it's a winner. Just to qualify that, it's a winner if you have an interest in the Charlatans band and British music from the late 1980's onwards. Otherwise it won't mean much to you.
Burgess wrote it himself so it tends to wander. I preferred this to the polish of using a ghost writer though. He talks fondly of his bandmates, especially the late Rob Collins and he is also very open about his demons which he seems to have conquered.
Also he gives insight into the songs, where and when they were written and why. All in all, for fans of the band and music from that era you can't go wrong.

I think Dave will be really interested in it.

Started and finished Smile by Matt Shaw. This had me on the edge of my seat from start to finish.
Both these books were free and don't appear to be linked, again worth searching for.
