Right now I'm reading Blue Sky Days by Marie Landry. I got it free as one of those read & review things. I'm 5 or 6 chapters into it so far and it's pretty boring. the novel is not very well written and its meant to be a YA romance novel but the main characters who are 19 & 22 talk like their in their 60's! And if that wasn't bad enough, the love story is far too unrealistic, so I'm finding it very hard to connect with the characters. I think this is one novel where I'm definitely going to struggle through it.
I've also just finished Goodnight Dear: The Unsentimental Diary Of A Bereaved Husband. It didn't actually make me cry, as it has some, but it's left me sombre and thoughtful. It's given me a real admiration for Darren and how he has been there for his kids. It was brave of him to publish such a personal account. My husband was a widower when I met him, so it adds to my understanding of his situation (although his children had grown up and left home). It is good to read this - it makes you ask yourself questions. I would recommend this to everyone as it is insightful and encouraging. It helps us to understand people who are bereaved and how we can help.
Just finished The Guardian's Apprentice - J. Michael Radcliffe. Now I am going to read Falling Immortality: Casey Holden, Private Investigator - Robert Downs.
Finished Savage To Savvy also On the RocksNow reading The Dead Love Longer by Scott Nicholson,Sorry couldn't get a link.
I've just read a couple of books - Nanny And The Professor which was an enjoyable sweet romance and Below Stairs: The Classic Kitchen Maid's Memoir That Inspired "Upstairs, Downstairs" and "Downton Abbey" which I found very interesting. I've started a couple of new ones now and am not sure which one I will stick with - I might even read them both! 16 Lighthouse Road and The Long Walk: The True Story Of A Trek To Freedom - both very different so it will depend on my mood...

I decided its about time I started reading more classics so yesterday I started reading
by Emily Bronte.
I just finished Goodnight Dear: The Unsentimental Diary Of A Bereaved Husband which is a must read for everyone. I am still reading Moving Pictures
I just finished Jar City and started Fear Not. Hope none of next months books are Scandinavian crime novels.
I've never read any Scandinavian fiction Jacquie though I did watch a Scandinavian crime series on tv recently and enjoyed it.Are they very different from British/American thrillers?
Sarah they are good but I had difficulty with remembering the characters names and relationships especially in the Icelandic novel. I bought the second in the series and hope that it will become easier.
I've read loads this week between the weather and waiting a long time for an appointment yesterday - still not sure about the Kindle Murders, wont be rushing to buy the next one. I then read two short stories, Fearworld and Unborn - enjoyed Unborn more - was confused at first as it is classed as a ghost story and it started with murders, but then it started to make sense and I enjoyed it. Fearworld was more a 'earth being taken over by things that kill the human race' - when he wrote it, it was probably a very novel idea, but there have been quite a lot of things along that line since.
Recently finished The Mutilation Machination and started (and loving) The Wrong Stuff, K'Barthan Trilogy: Part 2, the second book of MTM's K'Barthan Trilogy - I am really deeply enjoying it and loving the characters.
Just finished The Wine of Angels.too long and drawn out, hopefully the others in the series that i have will be better.Just started 14 by J.T.Ellison.
Just finished Goodnight Dear: The Unsentimental Diary Of A Bereaved Husband and The Man From U.N.D.E.A.D. - Zombie Apocalypse Now both were amazing in very different ways :-)Just about to start Alice Parker's Metamorphosis
I've just finished The Escape Company and really enjoyed it. it's very light hearted and I'm about to start The Dark Lake as I was very intrigued by the blurb.
I really enjoyed Alice Parker's Metamorphosis Emma and Nicola has just released the next in the series.
Just finished and absolutely mega-enjoyed The Wrong Stuff, K'Barthan Trilogy: Part 2 by M T McGuire, who has an author page on this group. I'm going to review it when I get back home.Still reading Darren's The Sword In The Tree
Absolutely fantastic - everything, pace, humour excitement and characters you want to take home and look after!
Just finished a bottle of wine. Just started another. And in between times I'm still reading The Moonstone and The Dharma Bums - hope to have them both finished by the end of the weekend with reviews etc!
Won't get a lot of time for reading over this week and next. Busy like hell at work and we all have to do extra shifts. However I'm hoping to finish z14 which is a gripping read so far. Then I plan to start my annual tolkien fest with the silmarillion which should take me through to my next leave from work in may.
I know a lot of people have said The Silmarillion was dry but I found it engrossing. (I love Z14 too!)
My opinion of it has changed over the years. I first read it in early 80's and thought it boring but I've read it many time since and always find something new each time. Mind you I find that with most of his works. Tolkien is a bit like marmite, you either love it or hate it!!
I too found The Silmarillion difficult when I was younger but you can't help but admire it. Definitely a book I want to read again now I'm a bit less searching for all the answers!
I've never managed to get further than about the first hundred pages of The Silmarillion. Haven't tried it again for many years though.Perhaps I shall one day. Once I've completely caught up with my TBR list...

Like that will ever happen!!! Lol!
I just finished The Atlantis Complex is was ok, didn't enjoy it as much as the other Artemis Fowl books. And not sure what to start next.
Decided on The Violin of Auschwitz: A Novel hopefully it will give me time to decide on my next one.
