Apparently, this was the 1200th post on this thread! And equally as popular at the other 1199, I guess ;-)

Morning, Patti.

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments Just planning another 'nostalgedy' book. Probably going to be the same sort of size as Steady Past Your Granny's(which seemed to work pretty well) and probably due for release in January, 2013. Provisional title = A Kick At The Pantry Door

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Ooooh Goody gooody!

Just you and me then, GL? Clearly something of a niche market ;-)

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments I'm sure you'll get one or two other sales.

I'm counting each and every one.

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments Just been sorting out the contents for A Kick at the Pantry Door. There's more stuff to go in there than I originally thought. Looks like it will be a little bigger than Steady Past Your Granny's but not as big as Crutches For Ducks. Still, size isn't everything, as they tell me ;-)

I just KNEW that was going to be the case

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments I'll be happy whatever the size Phil.

I couldn't possibly comment, GL.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments The book, Phil, the book!!

Of course, what else could we possibly be talking about? Due for release late December, 2012. Probably just before Christmas.

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments For those who haven't seen this on FB:

I went to the Garden Centre again today. At the checkout, it said you could get a Senior Citizen discount, so I enquired about it. I got £10 off an old bloke with a squint and a walking stick!

message 1221: by Philip (new)

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments A dip into the problem page:

Dear Deirdre,

I was driving past my local garage today when I saw a sign that said 'Winter Check - Book Now', so I went in and enquired. The chap behind the counter was very helpful and said he could fit me in straight away. I was very pleased. He then went out of the back door, was gone for a couple of minutes, and when he returned he said "Yep, it's Winter alright" and charged me £35. My question is, do you think I should have tipped him?

Doubtful of Derbyshire.

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments Got a brand new 5 star review for Crutches For Ducks that I hadn't even noticed!

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments Jambalaya by Philip Whiteland - now with an updated Product Description

message 1227: by Philip (new)

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments Two bits of news. Firstly, if you want to give a Granny as a gift to someone this Christmas, but they don't have an e-reader? Nae problemo! Amazon now have a stock of the print version. Steady Past Your Granny's by Philip Whiteland

Secondly, I've further updated Jambalaya by Philip Whiteland 's product description, so there should be no doubt about the type of content. Have a look and let me know what you think.

message 1228: by Philip (new)

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments I'm tempted to say that my Granny in print is a nice little stocking filler, but I won't as it sounds somewhat perverse ;-)

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Depends on the stocking I suppose... Fishnets not so good. Nice thick pair of knitted aran types ones much better.

message 1230: by Philip (new)

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments Fishnets on a granny don't bear thinking about.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Well if she looks like Tina Turner maybe...

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Ignite wrote: "People pay folding currency for pictures like that!"

I didnt know you could fold 10p coins.

message 1238: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Oh but you can, GL.

You just have to place them on the tracks just right.

Ooh, that's harsh!

message 1240: by Philip (new)

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments I'm toying with the idea of pulling Jambalaya from publication. It's now received two 2 star ratings on here and nothing further on Amazon itself. Given the lack of any contrary positive comments, I guess it's probably time to admit defeat.

message 1241: by Philip (new)

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments Has anyone else been down this particular road and, if so, do you have any advice?

message 1242: by Philip (new)

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments Erm, is it something I said? Or did everyone leave and not tell me ;-)

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments I'm still here, but hanging on by the skin of my toenails...

But I'm sure you have cute cuticles ;-)

Sorry, sorry, it's this word-play thing...I just can't resist it! Which gets me back to the problems with Jambalaya. Anyway, you wouldn't have cute cuticles for long if you were using them to hang on to anything, I wouldn't have thought.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Its an acute problem...

message 1246: by Philip (new)

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments Just posted a couple of excerpts from Crutches For Ducks by Philip Whiteland on www.philwhiteland.blogspot.co.uk, if you've nothing better to do on this Sunday afternoon.

I'm delighted to hear it has reduced to a creaking noise. I used to frighten people miles away. Actually, I think it's more of a creek that I'm up, not a creak
;-)
