Hello all! I am Ami (though you will see me as notquiteallhere) I have been into mangas for a few years now thanks to a friend beating Ouran High School Host Club down my throat and I love her for it! I read A LOT of a little bit of everything (comics, cozy mysteries, adventures, mangas... and so on). It is one of the main things I do in my down time at the coffee shop I work at... and OWN (I super proud of that since I am only 24).... Well anywho I look forward to talking with my fellow nerds and reading!

Hi!! My name is Gabrielle... I started watching Anime last year during the summer and I only just started reading manga after watching Kaichou wa maid-sama (my all time favorite Anime xD). Anyway I joined this group to meet other otakus :D I'm 11 (too young to be on this website, but my parents allowed me :D), and I LOVE ANIME, MANGA, AND BOOKS! :D

Maid-sama is AWESOME! nice to meet you. If you like maid-sama, and you're just starting out, I totally recommend K-On!. It's funny and it's not really confusing like most fantasy genre anime... (It's not a fantasy. that's probably why.)

But on the topic of Maid-Sama... can we mourn the loss of TokyoPop :( Seems all the series I was totally digging were being published by them and now I'll never know how it ends :(

I recently read Nisekoi from Viz Media. If you are into romance/comedy type of books this one is only rated teen. It deals with a boy from the yakuza that has a crush on a regular girl but can't get the courage to confess then is forced to pretend to be in love with another girl from a rival gang so the conflict between the groups cease.

It has an anime as well if you would like to check it out that way first.:)

I didn't dislike it. It was cute and the characters were fine. I gave each volume a 3 star rating.. the story I felt was kind of boring and wasn't really anything special. It was entertaining but it certainly wasn't as great as Maid-Sama (in my opinion)

Hi there. I didn't even know manga was around from the beginning of time. I'll have to find some of the earliest stuff. :)

Anyway try Sacred Blacksmith if you are into Romance and Fantasy. It has a little nudity here and there but I like the story and the challenges the heroes of the story must face. :)

I have seen the samples of AoT and see what the hype is about but never got around to collecting them (They are popular enough I have time before the books start going out of print.) Nice to meet you Ian! :) I think you have plenty of time to read it before it goes out of print, it's that popular. lol I tend to approach popular series of any kind with a bit of skepticism, but AoT is really good!

The first manga I ever read was Sailor Moon (naturally). From there, every other Saturday I would go with my two brothers to The Great Escape comic store and read whatever manga was available at the time from series created by CLAMP, Rumiko Takahashi to mecha series such as Gundam Wing and Neon Genesis Evangelion. Good memories! :)

Yeah, me too! It just came out in Japan, I read in a news article today about how early reviews for it so far are not that great. lol Oh, well...I'm still gonna watch! :)
