I know I'm not a very active part of the group. I promise to work on that, because this is such a neat group. Anyway, I've got most of those. lol. Uh, twitter is 'strangeaslife'. Same with myspace URL. Personal website/blog is strangeaslife.wordpress.com. If anyone contacts me through one of those three places and asks for facebook info I will personally give that away.

My blog is at http://emmarj.com
And my twitter account is: http://twitter.com/ERaeJ
I also have a last.fm account: http://www.last.fm/user/dalailala

Welcome Emma! A Perfect Circle are brilliant, especially 'counting bodies like sheep'!

Are you studying abroad?"
Thanks, everyone! Yes, I'm currently abroad in Egypt, though I'm slated to return at the end of May. It's certainly been an interesting experience!

Wow! That sure sounds interesting! How long have you been there and when do you leave?

Wow! That sure sounds interesting! How long have you been there and when do you leave?

I arrived in mid-January (really quite randomly too, because I opted out of campus housing in favor of finding an apartment), and am due to leave at the end of May. Right now, my flight is booked for May 30, but I may readjust to leave on May 27. I do enjoy it, and my Arabic is improving leaps and bounds, but I certainly miss home!

What have you been studying?"
I'm taking Arabic, art history (Islamic art and architecture of Cairo), and two political science classes. But of those, I think I like Arabic the best. Where do you go to school? I'm a student at the University of Rochester in New York (state).

I think it's really awesome that you're studying Arabic! I'm guessing you're a polisci major? What made you decide to go to Egypt?

Arabic is fascinating. If I had more free time, I'd certainly be interesting in learning it. My friend (who's graduating in three weeks) is studying Arabic at Uni St Andrews.

@Matthew: That's pretty cool - not many people know where Rochester is, haha. I'm actually from there as well. I definitely recommend learning Arabic; it's been one of the most rewarding classes I've ever taken.

Also, the weather is quite nice in California! Are you a third-year, then, to be looking into grad-schools?

I also have a livejournal (http://mutant-wolf2.livejournal.com/). My livejournal is friends only so let me know where I know you from!

But I haven't brought myself to try out twitter yet. It would be fun just to say "I tweet!!" but I don't really get the whole thing... whats different?? I see a lot of you are on it... do you like it?

Great blog Jacqueline! I love how you shamelessly plugged GR into one of your posts :)
PS- I'm with you on the circus cruelty. I've only been once long time ago when I was still a kid and even then I knew I would never go to one again. 15 years later and I still haven't been to one

Thanks!
