Check this out: Location, location, location! Not that I care, b/c really... it was all of your comments and our back and forth dialogues that triggered my brain. Still, a nod of recognition would be nice.
Well, they are quite a bit more challenging on their counts. I agree that some recognition for your efforts would have been nice, but I guess we all share.
Heather, the locations are exactly the same! (My comments in parentheses, and all!)
I've borrowed from others too, but always post whose idea it was, even if I tweaked it. I did it twice without asking (didn't know it was a 'no-no'). Went back and apologized.
BTW, I always say "yes" when someone asks. And I do get e-mails asking...
Unfortunately some people are not as polite.
**shrugs** It is really okay. It is just the first time I've seen it happen to me. I've heard, way back when, people got upset over the A-Z challenges, but that is a hard one to call. I know I did A-Z Titles and Authors back when I was a kid!
Yeah, that one would be difficult to judge, but this challenge is pretty unique. She should have acknowledged it at least.
Duuuude! I'm all for sharing, but the whole concept of plagiarising without recognition is a massive no-no.. or maybe that's just cos that's such a big issue at uni with references etc, but it's just civil practise, methinks. Kinda disappointed on your behalf LK! Have you thought about a gentle nudge in their direction for acknowledgement? She might not realise it's not cool.
I've thought of it, Caro, and I remember that I didn't really know we couldn't use other groups’ challenges without asking (though I always gave credit). I thought we were one big happy family here on GoodReads. Plus, I think tweaking the challenges I used at the beginning helped trigger something inside of me to create my own original ideas. So, I have mixed feelings about it. (view spoiler) I think I’m just going to let it go. **lots of deep breaths** Either that, or analysis how I feel about it to death! LOL!
