simon is really annoying not only does he hate jace he went and got him self turned into a vampire! :(
I wouldn't say hate, he's just really annoying

I can't really say that there are any characters in the books I've read that I HATE, they all add their own aspect to the book and you need all the different characters to have a good book.

he is amazing in the start of the book and I hate him at the end

He has some great quotes in the books. I think some people dont' like him cuz he almost got in the way of Clary & Jace. I mean Simon and Clary were a horrible couple but great as best friends, and he always cracks me up

Yes Those are definitely two really great quotes from him!
I just thought I should say NNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, I totally love Simon. He's the dedicated friend even though you're being a jerk, and he's the kinda guy you could totally see reason in fighting for(not that i ever would).

in my honest opinion i think he just gets in the way. people are always having to risk things for him. i mean it got to a point where he had just one too many near death experiences and i seriously just wanted him to die. i know none of the stuff is really his fault, but he has a knack for getting into really horrible situations

Good! I thought I was the only one here. My sister loves him, more so than Jace. I like Jace way better.

yea some people do but most people like Jace
I think they both have their good and bad characteristics.
I'm actually surprised that no one has complained about Clary.I adore Jace and rooted for the relationship between him and Clary simply because it meant more reading time centered on Jace, but Clary is a really washed out heroine compared to so many heroines out there in books right now.
the problem with clary is she doesn't compare to people like Katniss (The Hunger Games). Clary is so wimpy
i really dont mind any of the characters. there is very few characters i dont like in TMI. i like clary and simon but they r not my #1 favorite character.
