maybe you should not read vampire/werewolf/fairy books. are you a teen or adult? That would help on the suggestions. I used to read young adult a lot because that's what was being pushed at the bookstores and stuff. Now I read more adult books, but every once-in-awhile read a YA novel. (Just finished a Sarah Dessen book).
There's always the classics like Jane Austen, Dickens, The Bronte sisters, and a ton others.

the Argeneau series by Lynsay Sands - sexy, funny, mystery, danger, vampires

Immortals After Dark by Kresley Cole - mystery, humor, sexy, danger, vampires, wolfs, demons, valkyrie

Kelley Armstrong has a young adult series (it's only 4 books long right now), and an adult series (it starts with Bitten) that are supernatural/paranormal themed. They're fun reads, but rather predictable.
Well I didn't like any of those ones either but I like a lot of realistic fiction books like:
That Summer by Sarah Dessen
Someone Like You by Sarah Dessen

2. Almost human series by Melanie Nowak ( you will laugh, swoon, get mad and cry and laugh again, it's an emotional roller coaster series)

You should read the Antia Blake series. I'm in love with it <3 20 books to the series and still going strong.. But starting at book 5 it starts to have a lot of sex.. 5 and 6 has one scene each I think.. and then after book 9 all sex all the time.. But still a great read.. You will fall in love with all the characters :)

if you really want to read good books DON'T READ TWILIGHT!'Twilight is like drugs. You're curious.some people are totally obsessed and some despised it. you read it anyway. don't mind it, read it again. love it. you start putting pictures of the Cullen family on the back of your closet. your parents notice. the hide the books. you find them. read them again. you realise your obsession. try going cold turkey. fail. try again. sucess. you have not read the books since.
this is not me but the tragic story of my sister's twilight obsession. some good books are;
*Skulduggery Pleasant-Derek Landy
*Iron Fey-Julie Kagawa
*Harry Potter-J.K. Rowling
*Percy Jackson-Rick Riordan
*Series of Unfortunate Events-Lemony Snicket
*Mortal Instruments-Cassandra Clare
*Hush Hush-Becca Fitzpatric!

Divergent by Veronica Roth, the Iron Fey series by Julie Kagawa
I recommend House of Night series, which makes Twilight look like trash, The need series about pixies and faeries, and the Iron Fey series.
Try
it's amazing. The heroine is cool and smart and the hero is completely the best ever, plus there's clues and mysteries and stuff. Its really different.

If I may be so bold, I'd like to recommend you this:
It's the first book of The Outsiders Trilogy.
You might like it. There is nothing like this out there.

Two of my all time favorite books are THE POISONWOOD BIBLE and THE HELP. I can't image anyone being able to put either of them down. I rarely finish a book unless it is a "page turner." I think these books transcend all age groups and genres. They have some history, some fiction, some laughter and some tears, and when you are done the characters seem to stay in your life. You still want to know what they're doing now.

Maybe you should try something that's not in the teen genre??
I'd STRONGLY RECOMMEND 'The Circle Series' by Ted Dekker. It's made up of 4 books, respectively:
-Black
-Red
-White
-Green
BRILLIANT BOOKS!!!!

Oh you should try the Siren trilogy. Its a very good book. Undercurrent which is the sequel to Siren won't come out til July 12th. And the third one won't come out til the summer of 2012. Siren is like a Mystery/Romance novel. It's very good it keeps you questioning and it's hard to put the book down.
Hidden by Shalini Boland is excellent. Couldn't put it down!
Or try Pillars of the Earth.
Both are really epic books

would recommend Divergent by Veronica Roth one of best books i have read recently
Well, I wouldn't recommend to anybody that didn't like "twilight" to start with, to read "Shiver", or "Hush" for that matter.
Problem naturally is that knowing what you didn't like isn't telling us what you do like to read.
However, Patrick Rothfuss The Name of the Wind seems a widely agreed upon choice in YA, although the follow-up book was apparently dissapointing.
or if you want to step up your game, anything written by Connie Willis.

Starcrossed by Josephine Angelini is widely different about greek mythology although still a YA book.
Wicked Lovely series by Melissa Marr is about fairies... Kinda fun.
I am Number four.
Or you could try some Georgette Heyer if you don't like fantasy or other YA topics...

The Dresden Files: Urban Fantasy all grown up and ready to kick ass. Plus it's a long collection of books, with a well developed back story and characters.
You should read the prydain chronicles. It is a very well written young adult adventure series.
If you are looking for more adult books, I would have to recommend the Darkhunter novels or League Series by Sherrilyn Kenyon. Both are really good & have their own worlds that you can dive into. Also, there is Kim Harrison's Rachel Morgan series. The Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs is a good read if you think you would like books about shapeshifters, including werewolves. All of these are adult though.
If you are looking for YA, then I might suggest the Blue Bloods series. It is very different from the rest I have read. Vampire Academy is a great series, as well.

I read the whole series in two days. Very recommendable. About a girl who want to save her younger brother in faerie world who get mixed up with a mischievous summer fae and an icy winter prince.
A Song of Fire and Ice series by George RR Martin! If you like different kind of fantasy... In my opinion, better than LOTR...
