Rosa Wichuraiana | 88 comments This is a young adult novel with a female protagonist written in diary style. The narrator lives with her divorced mother. Most of the novel concerns the girl's friend's struggle with anorexia. She discovers a journal she has been keeping in which she logs everything she eats and crosses out the date if she eats more than 900 calories. There is also some romance; the main character gets notes in her locker with pieces of Shakespeare sonnets on them. One piece of imagery I remember from it is the description of the girl realizing that the boy is in love with her being like woken up by fireworks and then wrapped up in a warm blanket.

It's an autobiography and I'm not sure if there's romance in the book. I read it a long time ago.

bookel | 4027 comments First or second half of which decade? If you don't recall the earliest year you read it? Thank you for stating it's actually an autobiography. That isn't obvious in the original post.

No, it's not an autobiography - Elanor is not the OP, she's suggesting the book "Stick Figure." I was confused too...

The OP is still active in GR. I sent her a PM, just in case her spam filter sent her notice that someone had replied to the trash.

Liralen | 766 comments Pretty sure Stick Figure doesn't have romance in it.

There's also Kim: Empty Inside and sistrsic92, though they may be long shots.
