I know that no one will know this book, but I've been looking for it for a very long time. It was written prior to 2000 (I think? Probably sometime before 1995?). The Plot:
French Shopkeeper's daughter, father is a drunk, does something inappropriate to her which really throws her world into chaos, mother sends daughter away, daughter (I think her name is Emmanuelle?) works in an office, buys pretty clothes, changes her name to something (Ella or Emma?) meets a man (a bit of a cad) to regularly to go on "out of town trips" (I remember the author spending time talking about how the main character spent all of her free money buying good quality clothes to try and hide her origins), she ends up in a city (New York?) and works for a wealthy woman who loves to throw parties. She learns how to throw parties and is very inventive with her themes and presentations. She then leaves employment of this woman (not on good terms) and starts her own party throwing business. She marries a newspaper owner (I think) and starts writing a society column. War hits and she turns this article into how to make things last longer and how to work with war rations.
I know this is a long shot, but if ANYONE knows anything about this book, I would be so grateful!
Hi everyone, like everyone here I'm also trying to find a book that I can't remember the tittle or the author's name. So here's the details from what I can remember from the book:Her name is Meredith.
she's an orphan.She has a sister who was adopted by wealthy people.
Meredith was sort of adopted by an older woman or maybe it was a home for people like her. But she ran away because I guess she was afraid to open up to the older woman.
She would get into mild trouble.
She has a crush on the hero when she was young. But the hero got married. And they went their separate ways until they meet again(also the hero is once again divorce). I think that in the plot Meredith is broke or/and she had enough of her boring life. Then she gets an inheritance from the older women who has passed away. When she got the money , she made up her mind and did something unexpected joined a special club ( she might have read about the club in a newspaper or receive an invitation by mail.)
Another thing is that her sister is jealous of her and she the one who married the hero knowing full well that Meredith has is in love with him. But I don't think meredith knew that until the end. Oh and also meredith became a belly dancer or exotic dancer at night and I think that's where she found him. He just doesn't know. ( I think the older woman taught her how to belly dance so im guessing that she's a belly dancer.)
Hopefully someone would recognize it????
I'm desperately trying to remember a book title, none of my searches are finding it.I remember it was about a teenage girl who lived in a field of some sort. There was a wall or fence around her city, but you weren't allowed to cross it. At some point she does, though, which is a major part of the plot.
I'm fairly certain greenhouses are a big part of the plot too, and the title may have something to do with light? I'm not sure.
I believe it's dystopian but I may be mistaken.

I am looking for 3 books.1. This a Regency or Victorian romance. It involves a Duke and a Lady. The Duke in question, I remember that he was said the be the only son and has like 3 older sisters. The Lady also has 2 other sisters who are already married. So, I suspect the book to be a trilogy or more. One of the sisters is married to a retired soldier and the other is married to an Earl (I think)
The sisters also have a gentleman's club.
The story started with the Duke at the club telling the heroine that there is a bet on her at White's that she will never marry. He was actually the one to place the bet.
I can't remember much of the details but I remember the Hero trying to woo the Heroine with his flashy life whereas she took him downtown to see the poor and underprivileged. The heroine was also assaulted by someone and the hero stayed the night with her and took care of her. And it became known the following day when the police that came to investigate wanted to put him on his suspect list and the hero came out of the room to show he wasn't wearing breeches as the heroine remembered the attacker wearing.
After everything, they had sex (what I really used to remember the book because it is the first historical romance with pre-marital sex I ever read) and a jealous acquaintance of the Duke went to a reporter and inferred to him that the Heroine is the Hero's mistress. The Heroine initially suspected the Hero, they finally worked it all out. The Hero almost got into a fight with one of the Heroine's brother in-laws.
The story ended with their marriage and the Heroine going to White's so her husband can pay up his wager which was actually a pittance.
The last sentence or so went thus...
Heroine: ''You lost, (Inserts Hero's name). Pay up.
Hero: Yes I did, But in doing so, I won"
2. This is a contemporary romance. The Hero owns a ranch and the Heroine is a friend to the Hero's younger sister. The age gap is quite marginal. Heroine had a migraine and the Hero took care of her after initially thinking she was coming on him.
I can't remember much of the plot but I remember the book having a blueish violet cover.
3. The third one is a Harlequin Presents book. It is about a Greek Billionaire who got a message that his recently dead sister has a son living with a friend and she wrote then in her will which was triggered due to her dying before her father (they were both in an accident). So the guy comes to claim his nephew but realizes it would be difficult to separate him from his sister's friend who the kid more or less sees as his mother. So, he was able to cajole her into marrying him with a bit of manipulation involving the kid.
They got married, had a good life till a takeover attempt on the Hero's company. He was able to thwart it but one of the opposition who is also family to the Hero met the wife and made her believe she was married so the Hero can control her shares and that of the nephew. They had some fights, made up and lived happily ever after.
I really hope someone can help me with the titles of these books.

I do remember a few more details though. I believe the h works in a small shop in the small town.(book store). Its modest, and doesnt pay a lot, but they put up with her quirks. She had some sort of trauma when she was a little girl, had to be rescued by some sort of mercenary type, and her brain glitches out sometimes. Due to this, the whole town kinda treats her with kid gloves. Except the H. He owns a large ranch, and i think runs a huge oil business somewhere else(texas/ wyoming?) And only recently moves into the area. i think after a bad divorce. This is the family ranch, and he comes home to hide out, get centered. His younger sister owns local diner, maybe...
The sister invites the h over to the H house, and they eat chocolate. This is a migraine trigger for the h, and she winds up staying the night at the house. Somehow, she stumbles around the house, looking for a bathroom, and the now exhausted( after working late,) H finds her incoherent. He thinks she is drunk? And trying to seduce him. He is quite irritated. I think he may have a gold digger ex in the picture, and is therefore put off by all females, and of coarse thinks they are all after his considerable fortune.
The h, or the sister set him strait about the h serious migraine, and he tells he he gets them too, gives her one of his pills, and a cold cloth, and generally takes care of her. He tells her to go get a prescription, but she thinks to herself how she cant afford it, i believe.
They eventually fall in love.
Does this sound right? Im off to try and find it again! I hope someone can remember the title!

Hi I am looking for a book i think its an upcoming book not sure , I read the synopsis the other day and my bad i didn't add to my tbr list now I cant remember the name .There is this duke who is feared because its thought that he has murdered his young wife but but its turns out that the runaway wife is alive and comes to live as a companion for the duke dotty aunt.

Hi, I have tried very hard to find this book i read about like 6 -7 years ago. The worst part is i hadn't finished the book and only have vague memories of the beginning. I really really hope someone out here can help me with this.The plot is a thriller more like suspense as we don't get to know the person behind the hidden cover. The book starts with a dad ( i guess its the girl's dad) catching her doing the deed with her boyfriend inside the confinements of a car parked infront of a shopping mall. the parents get very angry and leaving her in the house they go out. She has a brother and they take him with them. But the next morning she is woken up with silence in the house. I think after a day she realises that they've left. I guess there was also description about an accident which happened that night to her mother and brother leaving no other choice to her father but to leave.
I don't remember what happened after that but after years she finds love and settles down. The couple have a daughter. Now the girl feels that she is being constantly stalked. She gets scared about the safety of her child. There are instances like while taking her daughter to school a car passes by and she is reminded of the mystery man. And one night when the child is up looking at the stars out through the window, her mother suspects the stalker to be down seeing the headlights of a car. Also some incident happening inside a shopping mall where she thought her daugter was kidnapped. She also kept recieving money at the end of every month.
This is all i can think of. please let me if anyone came across such a plot. It would be really helpful.
Hi. I am looking for a book I read about 4 years ago. It's a contemporary romance novel where the heroine is angry with her twin sister because she was getting married to her exboyfriend . I can remember a scene where the girl goes to her parents place for dinner and she takes a date to try to prove to her family that she is over what her sister did to her but the date also like her sister which makes her angry because she can't understand it-they are literally identical twins. Anyway she has a male best friend who is the hero. He had been in love with her for a really long time, but she didn't know. Close to the end of the novel, her twin sister comes to her in tears apologising for what she did and begging her sister to forgive her and just talk to her again and her best friend tells her he is in love with her. This is all I can remember about the book. I can't remember the names of the character or anything else.

Hi everyone. I was hoping someone would help me. I've been searching for a book for months. Its a fiction/romance book series. The first book is about a women who's half berserk and half vampire but the too species have never gotten along. She falls in love with the leader of the vampire race who I believe is named Caled and her grandfather happens to be the leader of the berserker race. Would love it if someone would help me out. Hello !I have been trying to find a book that I read approximately three years .It was about a girl, who came to replace temporary her aunt, as assistant in a company .Before leaving, her aunt have told her about a set of rules from which I remember to not go in the CEO office( there was a small window that she could use to pass food, magazines, reports, etc.) . I also remember that the hero of the book was very secretive, he only left few people to see him(he had some scars). All was well until, she barged into his office and sow him ; she wasn't scared or disgusted by him.
From there , the story evolved in a beautiful love story.
I would really appreciate your help with this because it seems that I am not able to find the title of this book.

Hi All! I have been looking for a book that was released a few years ago, maybe as far back as 2012, give or take a few years. The book is set in England, either in the late 1800s or early 1900s. I believe it begins at the hero's sister's wedding. The heroine is blonde and she is the hero's sister's best friend or good friend. She is at the wedding and she and the hero, I think, mess around and then they don't see each other again for abit. But he searches for her. The heroine tends to be a maverick or not goody-goody, I guess. I'm hoping someone will recognize the book from what little information I've provided, and will post.

I'm trying to remember the name of a book I read quite awhile ago. It's a male/male romance/erotica. It takes place in the 60's - 70's. The main character works in an office in New York. He has a crush on another guy in the office and one day they have a fling in the office. Turns out the other guy (aka douche guy) just used him so he can use his apartment to screw other men while cheating on his wife. He ends up taking the janitor from the building there repeatedly. The janitor really thinks the douche guy and he are in love and he's the only one he's seeing. He sees the pictures of the main character in the apartment and recognizes him and starts to do nice things for him like leave flowers and gets him a Christmas tree at Christmas time. The douche continues to see tons of other people though. Eventually he is caught in the park getting gang banged (on purpose) by his wife who beats him almost to death with a baseball bat. That is when the janitor guy figures out he's not the only one the douche was seeing. He and the main character end up really liking each other and end up together. Ring any bells to anyone?
I'm trying to find a book I read around 1974 or 1975. I think the name was "A Man With No Name". But when I search that name the only result I get is the book that was made into a Clint Eastwood movie. That is not it. It's about a young Indian (Native American) man who has to prove himself in some way to earn his warrior name. He has visions about a white stallion with a red mane and tail. He thinks his task is to capture this stallion and bring it back to his people. Ultimately he doesn't capture the stallion but does rescue this stallion's colt, which looks like the stallion. He and his young wife bring the colt back to his tribe.
The book I am trying to remember was a multiple partner book. A guy left a girl and comes back later but she is already hooked up with someone else. They struggle to accept one another and become a three some. It is a contemporary book and not historical.
hello! i'm a newbie here and i specifically joined because i wanted to find a book that i read before..i actually owned it before but lost it..dunno if my aunt borrowed it and forgot to give it back or if i gave it as a gift..anyway i would love to read it again..so i cant remember the title nor the author but i believe it was a historical/regency romance..the girl had an accident as a child..i cant remember if she was poisoned or she drank something by mistake and so when she grew up she couldn't talk so well..she can say a few words but it ends up husky or her voice is all wrong and if she tries to speak for a long time her throat hurts..so because of this she doesnt speak at all in public which was misconstrued by a lot of people and thought she was totally mute. anyway the guy's name is Anthony and he became interested with the girl. ended up courting her and marrying her in the end i believe. but because the girl's self esteem was so low due to her disability they have some issues along the way. anyway the girl tries to hire tutors to help her speak well and she tries so hard but there was nothing to be done because the damage to her throat was so severe that there really is no way to cure it. in the end the guy tells her that she's okay the way she is and he loves her anyway. so they just learn sign language (i think) and they become happy in the end. the girl also calls the guy "Anonee.." cause she cant say his name well due to her throat issues..thats it..thats all i remember..haha..anyway..hope you can help me..thank you! :)

hello..i believe the first book you are looking for is The Duke's Gamble by Miranda Jarrett..its book 3 of the penny house novel series..there are 3 sisters Cassia (who married a rich guy) , Bethany (who married the ex-soldier) and the story you're looking for is the eldest one, Amariah..and they do have a gentleman's/gambling club that they inherited from their father who was a pastor..hope this helps.. :)

Read this book a long time ago.When the hero was young, he and his friends had an accident where the son of a rich man died. The man took the hero in to work for him as some sort of retribution for his sons death.
The heroine is an investigative journalist (I think) and is hired by the rich man to help him find his daughter as he is dying. She enlists the help of the hero but it eventually turns out that she is the daughter in question.
When the man dies though, in a twist he leaves his fortune to the hero while leaving a newspaper company to his new found daughter. And of course the hero and heroine fall in love and all that entails.

Hello I'm new to this, but here it goes. I have been looking for a book I read over 14 years ago. I lent it out to a friend and never saw it again. The story is a historical romance about a girl who lost her parents and was raised by her uncle and aunt. The aunt spent all the girls money on her daughter to get properly wed. But then the girl became of marrying age. The aunt realized that if the girl married all her money would go with her. So the aunt told her son to take her, so they would be forced to marry. But the girl got away and disguised herself as a boy. She was almost run over by a carriage and found work in a nobleman London house. She finds out the nobleman is her neighbor by her estate she ran from. He finds out the "boy" he hired is actually a female. Puts her up in her own townhouse becomes his mistress and goes by the name Maude.
He soon finds out her actual identity. That's is all I remember.

Hello! I've been looking for this book for almost two years now, I don't remember much of it but I remember this: The main female character was standing at first making jasmine tea to discover she was out of it, so she calls her husband and while he's talking to her in the subway, the train explodes and (spoiler alert) he dies.
Then she goes to Europe, and the your guide looks just like her dead husband (?) not so sure about this information, but that's all I've got, help!
I am searching for a book about a widow (I think) and her two daughters. The young girls wanted a father, so while their mother was working as a waitress to earn money to repair her broken down car which they were using to travel to somewhere I can't remember, the girls subtly interviewed "eligible" men to be their father and they eventually picked a rancher with two brothers (I mention this because I believe the book is a trilogy).The girls tried to bring the Hero and Heroine together in their subtle ways and even tried to steal the bolts and nuts of their car which was being repaired when it seemed as if their plan was failing and they would be leaving but the Hero's younger brother advised them on what part of the car to hide that would really delay them.
This is all I remember and I hope someone remembers the title.
hi guys.... plzzzz help me to find this book.... i hv no idea abt author ... bt mills and boon publication.....Trying to remember a book I read recently... it may even have been an HP... the h had to let the H order first in restaurants because she couldn't read the menu... they may even have had to marry for convenience, perhaps something will/inheritance related, and the H realized over time that she didn't know the parameters of the documents she'd signed. When he eventually figures it out, he's actually quite kind to her, since by then their relationship had thawed significantly and he realized she wasn't an airhead party girl...
hero thought heroine was party girl ...she dues nt react to scandal ... after sometime hero aas some doubt abt her readiing.. so wen e was on buissness trip he send her gifts with written msgs n e cals her to reply wen she tries to escape. e comes to knw her pbm.... then e defends her in front of her father.....

Hello lovely readers,I read a series (I am guessing its a trilogy but i only read 2)sometime back..but for some reason can't seem to remember either of the books names.
What I do remember is the plot
In the first book the lead lady works for the hero. They have a dating app. She creates a profile with some "rose" in it I guess. The boss also has a profile and both of their profile pics are of their best friends who are pranksters. They hit it off through the app and the rest I don't remember much. Although I do remember the guy having a cat.
The second book is about respective BFF's of the earlier book's characters and they start living together as a prank on each other which gets serious. Beyond this I don't remember. :/ (Pregnancy seems to have seriously fried by brain cells)
Ooohhh I also remember the third book is about the guys third friend who owns a baseball/football team and their team physio??
Please if someone could help I would be very glad. (Need some serious peace of mind :P)

I have a book i am desperately trying to find. The plot is centered around a red headed boy who is cursed to bring everyone he comes near bad luck..so he sets off so that he can't hurt his village anymore. He comes across his lost twin sister who is also a red head and discovers she brings good luck to anyone she comes near. He finds her near a place with this guy who gambles and uses her luck to get money, and they sneak away. They find out their pregnant mother was cursed by to small men who were playing a game or something...one who said the child would bring good luck, the other who said they would bring bad luck. PLEASE HELP!
Hi guys, trying to find a book I read probably around 2003/4/5/6 (bit of a date rang, I know!). It would be a YA/teen book.The main plot is (I think) a girl gets cast in a film, a relatively small part maybe? I remember she films a scene looking at a rose. I think a guy in the film gives it to her, and he explains that red and white rose mean different things.
There is also something special about the end of her garden, a bench with a tree where I think they break up perhaps?

When he tries to claim his fiancee she tries to break off the engagement by pulling various stunts. She even tries to elope at which point the duke intervenes and they get married. This is part of a series. The previous books were about his brothers who had taken part in the war against napoleon. The next is about his sister

Hey! I've wanted to re-read this book for a long time now, but for the life of me I can't remember the title of the author. It's a historical romance novel (regency), and all I can remember are some bits of the plot.But basically, the heroine and the main hero meet in Hyde Park, when he saves her from her horse having gone wild, and from the moment he touches her hand, they feel the sparks, etc. She has this chaperone (her name might be Vicky, I'm not sure though), at some point in the book she tells her to stop biting her lips so as to not attract unnecessary attention to them because it made them too red, even though her lips were actually red because the heroine had just been smooching with her romance hero in a closet.
I remember that the heroine's name might be Catherine (although I'm not sure about this), and there was some sort of newspaper throughout the whole book - a gossip column like in Julia Quinn's books, or something of the sort. Also, the hero gives the heroine pearls at some point in the book, and she gives him her virginity way before the wedding, thinking they'd never marry anyway, etc.

i can't seem to find this book.i had read this books synopsis at amazon some time ago and cant remember the author or the books name. it was about man living out in the western america who was paralyzed and used a wheelchair. the brother or the friend arranges a mail ordered bride for him without his knowledge. he believes no one would love a crippled man. i remember the other guy taking care of the man, and the heroine having a hand amputated but i don't remember how.

help finding the title of a historical romance topic" I need help finding the title of atleast one book in a historical romance series that I read. I don't remember the title or the author.
I read 2 books in the series and would love to read the remaining. It is a series based on a family with 4 brothers and a sister. ( I think 2 of the brothers are twins)
book 1 ( about the eldest brother, he is marquess or viscount or an earl) - he is betrothed to a lady when she is born and when is a kid. he ignores her until she is well past the marriageable age and comes to collect her when he thinks its time, so the lady tries to break the engagement as he does not love her and she tries to find different ways to make him break the engagement, like shopping excessively, dressing as man and going to Whites to gamble, learns to drive the phaeton and challenges other lords. finally after a particular disaster and they get married but she is still not sure that he loves her and in the end she manages to get shot and finds out he loves her and they live happily ever after.
book 2 (second brother, mathematician, helps in decoding and encoding messages for the british army) - he decodes a particularly important message from Napolean which the french want. so a lady, who is the daughter of a very famous french mathematician, is bullied and scared for her families safety disguises as a maid and start working in the heroes house. they fall in love with each other but finally she has to steal the decoded message and leave to save her father and brother. the hero follows her to france saves her from the thugs and marries and brings her back.
I hope I make sense of the 300 page books in these short paragraphs and would be great if someone can figure out the name of either of the books.
I think the 3rd book in the series is about the sister.

I read a book a few years ago that is a dark comedy about a guy who is somehow involved in the organ trafficking trade. The finale is where the bad guy ends up being killed by a factory that has been built to harvest the organs of monkeys for use in humans. Yes, strange I know but it was hilarious. can anyone help
