I ADORE THIS SONG!!!!! BUT ERICK RUINS IT BY COMING IN. HE DOESN'T EVEN NEED TO COME IN WHEN RAOUL AND CHRISTINE ARE SINGING TO EACH OTHER AND PROVING THEIR LOVE.

Okay, here's the thing ... even in the book, we have Erik lurking around whenever Christine and Raoul are trying to have private time. He's not a nice guy, he's obsessed ... and Christine is a whackadoodle with an Electra complex and who constantly conflates Erik with her father.In the musical, he is here the entire time, but he does not reveal himself to them at all.

It's only in the '04 movie that Christine thinks Erik is her dad. She believes the Angel of Music is her dad's spirit, and since the Angel of Music is really Erik...Elsewhere, she thinks of the Angel as a father figure to replace her dad. :)

Hadley Fraser is beast during this song. The only person who does it better is Ramin Karimloo.
