Thanks Chris, I hope you enjoy them :) I'm working on a full length novel at the moment set in Bumpkinton, but, well, it's taking a life-age of the Earth to write and get right, hehe

Haha, you did indeed, Paula. Is that Last Christmas? That one is only a short tie-in but I hope you enjoy it. I suppose Bittersweet can be read without it but an event in the story is mentioned in the subsequent books so it may be worth reading it.

I'll add the others too. I like to read them in order.

Matthew | 17 comments If you added Volume One, that's all 4 released plus a bonus story. If it was just a single one, then the order is: Last Christmas, Bittersweet, The Bachelor and Albert's Christmas.

There is a bonus story in the collection but I'm just happy if people want to buy any, if I find one person who enjoys it then that's extremely satisfying :)

Paula Adams (goodreadscompadams57) | 44987 comments I just ordered Last Christmas. I have a few to read for NetGalley for review first but I am definitely ready for a good laugh.

Matthew | 17 comments Haha Now I'm nervous if they don't deliver!

The never ending worry of an author :D

Paula Adams (goodreadscompadams57) | 44987 comments Don't worry. I'm easy to please. I like mysteries and I like comedies.

Matthew | 17 comments I wouldn't mind writing a murder-y cozy at some point, but not quite yet :)

Paula Adams (goodreadscompadams57) | 44987 comments That's what most of them are. Wait til you are ready.

Jordaina Sydney Robinson (jordainasydneyrobinson) I don't think it's been mentioned here yet but there's a great series by Amber Foxx called Mae Martin Mysteries. There's not a dead body in sight! Well worth a read. For transparency's sake I should probably say I was lucky enough to be a very early reader! The first book in the series is called The Calling

Karen (xkamx) | 547 comments So someone in another thread mention having just read a cozy without murder. Others commented and then Heather L posted a link to this thread, which I'd somehow missed. I read through this and found several series to add to my TBR.

Susan wrote: "Just found this discussion. Great suggestions here!
So...now I'm curious. Which do you personally enjoy more: a cozy with a murder, or one without?"

~and~
Maria answered: "It totally depends on the characters and writing. A good humorous story doesn't need a murder. The right characters moving along apace doesn't need a lot to keep me reading.

A murder can lend authenticity to the "need" to solve a crime, but it isn't absolutely necessary and sometimes not having one makes the plot more believable. I mean, let's face it, not every sleuth is going to want to go to that dark boathouse at midnight when a murderer is afoot!

I agree!! A good story with an intricate and interesting enough puzzle doesn’t need a murder. Lost or found objects, missing or found persons or pets, stalkers, corporate espionage, thefts, vandalism, etc. -- or combinations thereof -- with suspects and red herrings can be just as, if not more, interesting as murder if the author creates great characters and stories around the “MacGuffin” (or non-MacGuffin, as the case may be :o) ), creating suspense, etc. drawing in the reader.

As mentioned I found a few interesting items y’all posted above to add to my TBRs. Thanks!
