Thanks Judithe for the support! Let's hope the coffee wears off soon. Gotta take a nap and refresh for the category announcement.

Sounds good Nici. I really enjoyed the first book, so hoping this is as enjoyable :)
Also, what are your thoughts on team names?

Ya'll should call yourselves the Fuzzy Peaches. It's orange enough....
Lazily drifting on the currents to get back to my lair and read - no need to hurry, nothing dangerous here!

I'm on board with Orange Crush and love the mascot! He/She needs a name though."
How 'bout "OJ" - busy killin' the other teams! (Oooo...I know that was really bad.)

How 'bout "OJ"??? :-)"
My daughter just said, "I hate the "annoying orange!" Everyone in school watches him! LOL! I've never heard of him before.

Shelleyrae, like the pic. But, like Nici suggested, we should put it to a vote just to make sure everyone's on board with the name. We want everyone to be excited with the team name!
I like Orange Crush because we can go with the motto, lol.

My review: I should know better by now that if the book says anything about The Hunger Games that I should NOT buy it, but this one was slightly better than the others that I've been duped into buying. This is the story of Vera who lives in a dystopian midwest town. Fresh water is scarce and the government has managed to pit groups of people against each other, but of course, all they want is fresh water. Vera meets Kai, who knows where the water is. He eventually goes missing (duh? he knows where the water is) and Vera and her brother, Will, take an accidental trek across the northern part of the US and Canada to find him. The characters are no where near as developed as Katniss and the HG crew and the Stratcher's message is loud and clear (where Suzanne Collins' message is a bit more subtle)...stop wasting water.
Three stars
Finished 6/5/11

PS I've already put BoS on the list. LOL

Shelleyrae, sounds like you've enjoyed the series so far! I've got the first in my TBR, but have yet to start it.
Yay to you both!
I should be finished tonight and will post my review afterwards.
GR won't let me post, so let's try editing *fingers crossed*
ETA:
Aaarrggghh, forgot to save my comment before attempting to post!! So this re-do is going to be quick-style.
Archangel's Kiss 6.7.11 ***1/2
This book was different than I expected, but not necessarily in a bad way. Based on the blurbs, I thought the book would involve more butt-kicking and action. Lijuan is an ancient archangel who is evolving in a scary, the-world-is-doomed kinda way and I thought the story would focus on Elena and Raphael trying to stop her. Ends up, it's mostly about Elena's recovery from the events of Book 1, developing her relationship with Raphael, and getting to know the folks in Raphael's world. I think Singh's writing style is a little too flowery for my taste, but I enjoyed the story and am curious about the next story.
Nici - since you're rounding up the first categories reads, would you like the honor of posting on the chip placement board?
Our board is still empty (for now), so I would suggest one of the middle slots? D1 or E1. What do you ladies think? And if other teams start placing chips, we can do some plotting before placing ours ;)

Shelleyrae, sounds like you've enjoyed the series ..."
I added the date to my post.
I'm looking for a good "1/2 nekked man" cover. Any suggestions?? I'd like to read it on my Nook.

Kristin - you can't read for Nici....she has to read her own book! LOL

@Kristen - Here are some eBooks w/a 1/2 nekked dude on the cover:

ETA: I've only read one of those (Dragon's Blood), so I can't offer up advise, just some cover goodness.
@Cindy, congrats on your chip! But, I think she's lookin' for something for herself (maybe for Dana's challenge) not Nici. ;)

Just how spicy do ya want that half-nekkid man book to be???? M/F? M/F/M? M/M? F/M/M/M/M/M??????

Looking forward to your review Nici. Life gets busy, no worries for now.

Thanks team! I've got a 7yo and 10yo at home, so I've got to keep it clean with my covers...thank God for the Nook!

Since no one seems opposed to it, I say we call ourselves Orange Crush. If everyone can just give a yay or nay, that'd be great. If nay, let us know what your pick is. Just trying to hurry along a decision, not trying to force a name on everyone :)
We haven't picked a captain yet either but we can work together without one, can't we?

Kristen, if you're still looking/deciding from Steph's list - Called by Blood, Dragon's Blood & Pack Alpha are good, novella length stories. All are first of series.
King of the Unblessed & Last Wolf Standing are mmp length.
My fav of these is Pack Alpha followed by Dragon's Blood.

So, Orange Crush(ers) , did you want me to place your chip as suggested by Nici or wait for a team verdict?

Eta:
Also, red just finished their reads so I thought I'd snag a spot first, hehe :)

Your chip has been placed in your requested spot.
