♥ Ashleigh ♥ Contrary to popular belief I'm not actually mad! (cheshire_red) @ Gayatri Somnium - sorry i totally forgot Louis Cesare, lol.
i also agree with Duca about someone writing The Poker game (has to have Caps! :P) on fanfic - i would but my writing is lousy! haha.

Naomi wrote: " And don't act like you wouldn't be there with us, tying Pritkins hands up. You'd be first in line. :P "
lol i prob would be ;)

Gayatri | 62 comments I wasn't surprised myself to find that I liked another character of Karen Chance's Cassie books. But its hard to resist guys like Mircea Basarab,John Pritkin,Louise Cesare. Even Marco, Caleb and Jonas are great characters.

Somnium Shadows | 437 comments wait, we're all waiting in line? oh, damn. i was planning on it being a massive race to see who can get there first, and everyone piling on top of him :)
joke, though. i'm british, we love to queue ;D

message 154: by Gayatri (new)

Gayatri | 62 comments Its gonna be one helluva big line lol in which I would be there too. Not first though cause I see you'll already there. Maybe Third or Fourth though.

message 155: by Somnium (new)

Somnium Shadows | 437 comments nah, i don't want to be quite first - he won't have had time to lose enough clothing by then. i think i'll join you a little further back and bide my time XD

message 156: by Gayatri (new)

Gayatri | 62 comments Yeah you are right! By the time we reach him he'd be probably be bound by his own clothes used as ropes.

Duca (sapphireofslytherin) | 468 comments Oh my gooooood the mental images....

♥ Ashleigh ♥ Contrary to popular belief I'm not actually mad! (cheshire_red) your all insane, lmao.

:D

this is like those fake karen chance fan emails stalking pritkin :P

message 160: by Somnium (last edited Sep 03, 2011 05:43AM) (new)

Somnium Shadows | 437 comments oooh it is, only not fake - we're genuinely this disturbed and scary :P
dear god, i loved those emails. especially the ones between Jonas and Pritkin - those where truly epic.

♥ Ashleigh ♥ Contrary to popular belief I'm not actually mad! (cheshire_red) haha yea same - i love jonas reply in them, they sound just like him :P.

message 162: by ♥ Ashleigh ♥ (last edited Sep 03, 2011 05:48AM) (new)

♥ Ashleigh ♥ Contrary to popular belief I'm not actually mad! (cheshire_red) i love the scene were jonas is teaching cassie and he pulls chalk out of no-were,
and cassie is like "whats that?" and jonas is like "whats what?" etc...
man thats hilarious!

message 163: by Somnium (new)

Somnium Shadows | 437 comments that was indeed epic as well. i love Jonas's art - it's probably about the same standard as my own XD you know what, i just love Jonas period. he's such an amazing character. honestly, how does Karen Chance do it? so many of her characters are just beyond awesome :O

♥ Ashleigh ♥ Contrary to popular belief I'm not actually mad! (cheshire_red) i know its insane!

i love the cassandra series the most but her other books/short storys are also really good... i cant think of another author who has so many good books and characters. she super creative!

message 165: by Gayatri (new)

Gayatri | 62 comments yeah I couldn't agree with you more!!

♥ Ashleigh ♥ Contrary to popular belief I'm not actually mad! (cheshire_red) who's your fave character - beside pritkin - and why??

message 167: by Gayatri (last edited Sep 03, 2011 06:09AM) (new)

Gayatri | 62 comments Other than the 'Guys(Mircea,Pritkin,Louise Cesare)' of the book I like Cassie and Dory too!
Because I like heroines who face their fears!

♥ Ashleigh ♥ Contrary to popular belief I'm not actually mad! (cheshire_red) Gayatri wrote: "Because I like heroines who face their fears!"
yea i love that aswel XD

i have to say cassie is prob my fave then marco. i like the dory series just not as much, most of my fave characters are in the cassandra series.

i love the scene were marco has to give mouth to mouth to cassie and she throws up and he's swearing at her and everything for almost dying - haha classic!

Marco. I love Marco, because he is just protecting Cassie and is not trying to use her for anything.
No, I do not beleive Pritkin fits this description. I still recall his actions in TtD when he tried to kill her and in EtN where he used Cassie to get the Codex. I won't forget or forgive that, even if he does appear to have had a change of personality in HtM.

♥ Ashleigh ♥ Contrary to popular belief I'm not actually mad! (cheshire_red) you do have a point enjee but i still feel like mircea lies more... suppose we'll just have to wait and see who comes out good in the end (if anyone does)

♥ Ashleigh ♥ Contrary to popular belief I'm not actually mad! (cheshire_red) how much time is spent between the cassie books??

I agree...Mircea lies more than Pritkin.

♥ Ashleigh ♥ Contrary to popular belief I'm not actually mad! (cheshire_red) also when pritkin was a prick he didnt know cassie and wasnt friends with her then... which is why i think he's nicer to her now, there friends AWWWWWWW. lol

mircea has always known cassie but still dosnt tell her much. also im not impressed with him leaving her at tony's when he could of moved her when she was little.

message 174: by Duca (new)

Duca (sapphireofslytherin) | 468 comments Caleb is definitely one of my new favourites... you've got to love lines like
"You start putting the moves on what is basically a corpse, and then talking when there's nobody there, and then some weird-ass shit starts going down with sparkly light and heat and John comes back to life and jumps your goddamn bones-"

Also Marco makes me laugh on a regular basis. I really liked that 'teddy bear with fangs' description :D

I like Caleb, too. I was sorry to see (view spoiler)

From "Skin Deep" in Inked (World of the Lupi, #5.5) by Karen Chance .

♥ Ashleigh ♥ Contrary to popular belief I'm not actually mad! (cheshire_red) the Scottish guy, Jamie from "skin deep" was also pretty cool

message 178: by Duca (new)

Duca (sapphireofslytherin) | 468 comments Oooh I haven't read Inked... so Caleb is in it? Interesting...

Oh god, yeah Caleb's face in my mind when they were going to take his coat... priceless. "I don't want another one!" Sounded like a petulant child, lol.

♥ Ashleigh ♥ Contrary to popular belief I'm not actually mad! (cheshire_red) lol.

yea he dosnt have a huge seen in skin deep but you get to see a little more of him which is awesome :)

message 180: by Somnium (last edited Sep 04, 2011 01:02AM) (new)

Somnium Shadows | 437 comments ooh, i haven't read it yet (so thank you very much for using the spoiler tags :D)- i really do need to, but i'm too cheap to buy the whole book just for that anthology, and it's not in any of the librarys near me :'(
anyone have any suggestions of how else i could get hold of the lea shorts?

♥ Ashleigh ♥ Contrary to popular belief I'm not actually mad! (cheshire_red) awesome - do thy have strange brew?

♥ Ashleigh ♥ Contrary to popular belief I'm not actually mad! (cheshire_red) you know how cassie is suppose to have curly strawberry blonde hair - i wonder why the model on the front of the books never had her hair curled?

message 183: by Somnium (new)

Somnium Shadows | 437 comments @Gayatri: *gasp*
i now officially LOVE YOU!!!! ^_^
you have just provided me with sufficient new Karen Chance material to keep me from loosing my mind over the next year :O
*runs off to go curl up in a corner with new books*

I sincerely hope this is not a pirate site. If so, you'll have to delete your post.
Goodreads has a policy of not promoting the theft of author's work products.

Gayatri | 62 comments ♥ Ashleigh ♥ wrote: "awesome - do thy have strange brew?"

Yes they have it and every new book released even Bloodlines. I just downloaded it!

Think about it...why would a site give out free new-release ebooks?
The site is not getting any $ and the author is not getting a percentage of what you paid since you paid $0.
I looked at the site listed. The sentences are not proper English. This looks like bait.
I'm thinking you just infected your computer with a virus embedded in the "free" ebook.

The most insidious viruses are the ones that are difficult to detect, so you wouldn't necessarily know if your computer had one. I will pose this question again:
Think about it...why would a site give out free new-release ebooks?

message 189: by Somnium (new)

Somnium Shadows | 437 comments ummm... *looks at website* yeah, i'm pretty sure that's a pirate website. no way would that many authors put all their work up there for free. just because the files may not have viruses hardly means it's not illegal.
ah well, i'll just have to see if i can convince my library to buy the anthologies. my friend just got a job there, so maybe it could work...

Most authors do not make a huge amount of money from their books (we know there are exceptions). I think it is something like 8% of the price of a paperback book goes to the author. Without sufficient sales, they do not make enough to earn a living and must keep a "day job" to avoid poverty. Day jobs mean they do not write fulltime and they take longer to complete a work. Which means we, the readers, have to wait...and wait...and wait for new books. Another ramification of not paying for books is the obvious, but I'll state it again anyway..no purchase means lower sales means a series can get canceled.
The bottom line is that if we want our favorite authors to produce, we must in turn support them, which at the very least means we pay them for their effort...which means we BUY THEIR BOOKS.

message 191: by Somnium (new)

Somnium Shadows | 437 comments hooray for logic! :)

Gayatri | 62 comments Thanks! I didn't know about this! Furthermore I swear not to download any ebooks from there! And I do buy books because I love books rather than ebooks. Its just that there are so many books not available and sometimes I cannot order them from sites too. But no more illegal downloading from now on!!

Somnium Shadows | 437 comments And now let us return to the lovely conversations about the amazing works of Karen Chance ;P
So, Ashleigh, does that mean you haven't read the Dory books yet?

message 196: by Gayatri (new)

Gayatri | 62 comments Oh my God ! Ashleigh you haven't read Cassie's books??
If you love Dory's books then you would definitely love Cassie's books!!!

message 197: by ♥ Ashleigh ♥ (last edited Sep 04, 2011 03:07PM) (new)

♥ Ashleigh ♥ Contrary to popular belief I'm not actually mad! (cheshire_red) lol no i HAVE read both cassie and dory books - i own the cassandra palmer series and now im planning on buying the dory series, so when the next books come out i can just re-read the whole series in one go, that way i'll be all re-fresh for the new books and know whats going on - Brilliant plan or what?? :P

message 198: by Somnium (last edited Sep 04, 2011 03:13PM) (new)

Somnium Shadows | 437 comments most brilliant, me thinks. oh, that's good, you worried me there. i thought you'd read them due to the Louis Cesare comment, but then for a second i was not sure :) i own all the books in both series, but none of the shorts XD

♥ Ashleigh ♥ Contrary to popular belief I'm not actually mad! (cheshire_red) Somnium wrote: "i own all the books in both series, but none of the shorts XD "

i would love to own the shorts as well - that would be awesome :)

♥ Ashleigh ♥ Contrary to popular belief I'm not actually mad! (cheshire_red) anyone got some more interesting insights on pritkin or mircea??
